Wow wow wow. I am soo glad I finally made it here. This place is bangin! I had a craving for seafood and didn't want to sit somewhere and drop $100. Instead, I came here to order the spring rolls, crispy salmon and garlic shrimp for under $50! Service - the gal taking the order was so nice and answered anything I wanted to know. I also watched her treat other patrons with kindness, fun and respect. Customer service isn't always easy to do. Price - you can get a very filling, very generously portioned meal for around $16. To find food like this and be seafood??!! Food - the important stuff. I was so excited and so hungry that I forgot to take photos. That's how good it all smelled and looked. Salmon is my least fav fish to eat because ages ago, I had bad salmon in a salad at an upscale spot in Newport Beach. That shi stays with you. Salmon sashimi on the rare occasion. A&J crispy salmon was so yummy. I love the way it's cut so it easily peels off piece at a time. It came with the most tasty mango salsa. Spring rolls were perfect for my picky mom. I was missing HI food so ordered the garlic shrimp. Delish! The thinly sliced pineapple pieces were Perf with every bite. Don't sleep on this lil shack! Like I often say, don't let the space fool you. Good food comes from the folks making it.

Delicious food. The location is very sketchy though. They service is great as well but I've had better customer service. Regardless I might come back but the location is really what drives me away. Try it out if you're in the area but wouldn't recommend if you've never been in this part of Long Beach.

Did take out here, since I don't live too close to this shack it's always between 4-5 months apart. Food quality is always consistent except for the sausages last time I ordered it was shrivelled up, a bit dry, very few pieces and very charred compared to what I remembered. This place is still highly recommended cause all of the dishes are delicious. Portions are great from rice meals to noodles. Next time will check my orders before leaving just in case. For ambience, iit's a cool little shack not a lot of seating really and it's by a busy street , but you are there for the food anyway not the ambience.

I ordered the Hawaiian-style garlic shrimp. The shrimp was buttery and so flavorful. It hit the spot!Everything on the menu looked really good and prices are reasonable. I can't wait to take my friends here so we can try out more on the menu.

The BEST spicy garlic shrimp I've ever had, even better than the one in Hawaii. It comes with a lot of rice, big shrimps, and pineapple slices. I love the sauce on the shrimp. It's like a mix of cajun, butter, garlic, and spicy goodness. The portion is huge for me. I get full with half portion and save half for the next day. I wish I could eat this everyday because it's that good. If you love shrimp and you love garlic, you will love this.

Okay, get a garlic shrimp and beef skewers. It's so good. I just finished it and I'm full af. The best part of the garlic shrimp, is all that flavored rice at the end that you end up lapping up. Yum yum. Def gon come bak!

I recently ordered a plate of the Khmer sausage and found them a bit on the dry side. That being said, the flavor was Ok and the accompanying fish sauce made the dish much better. True to its name, this is a shack on a corner and very informal in vibes. But it is great for a quick grab and go meal.

A bit surprised to see this on Long Beach's top 10 eats, while delicious, i think what gives this place its spark is the local-ness of it.... its a "shack" on the corner of a busy street, no other restaurants nearby. As someone who is visiting the area you can definitely get more 'experience' of the town heading to one of the many wine bars nearby. we got the baked oysters and crispy salmon, both good but again, if you're visiting long beach go somewhere where you can sit outside and also lookout on the water, not a busy random street. going to a seafood shack you expect something like a lobster roll... or even something raw. everything here is cooked, baked or fried. still good eats though

It was decent amount of money, but it was a ton of squid in the large fried squid. Bigger than my head. It is like the best calamari I've ever had. Tender, savory, and not rubbery at all. Like street calamari, a street calamari explosion with a creamy dipping sauce and a sweet spicy sauce on the side. More food than I thought. Definitely an item I would want to split with another person next time. A lot of protein and very filling. Great value when I saw how much squid I was actually getting and the taste.I also got the Combo Fried Rice. Wok tossed to order with chicken, Chinese sausage, jumbo shrimp, onions, garlic, egg & broccoli. This was $14 and another one that I split up in multiple meals because of how much food it was and how dense. All in all, a great spot. Other than the outdoor seating arrangements not being the most pleasant (busy street, lots of noise and exhaust, hard chairs) and the prices, it was a 5-star experience.

Accidentally checked in a few weeks ago when I meant to bookmark A&J Seafood Shack having driven by so many times, so decided to finally come and try it out. The parking lot is super tiny with only 3 spots, and there are just a few seats with long outdoor tables, but since we came in the middle of the afternoon we were able to get a parking spot plus a table. The vast majority of orders were to-go.The shack is small and simple but serves up seriously good food with generous portions. We ended up ordering the crispy salmon dish, beef stick sandwich, grilled oysters, and fried small whole squid. The small whole squid was pretty gigantic for "small" size; it was good but could have been crispier and the squid itself was less chewy than I would have liked. The sandwich reminded me of banh mi and had nice crispy bread. The grilled oysters were huge and came with a very umami sauce. The crispy salmon was my favorite with a refreshing green mango slaw, tamarind sauce, and soft fluffy rice with crispy salmon skin. Overall, I loved every dish though food was on the salty side. The fresh coconut was chilled and refreshing, but the Thai iced tea a bit too sweet.Service was minimal but fine, you order and pickup at the counter. I would have loved a sink to rinse my hands since there is no restroom and the fried squid was hard to eat without a knife, so I used my hands.Would love to come back to try more of their seafood!
