I had never heard of this place but decided to check it out with a friend per his friend's recommendation. We got there right before the kitchen closed and placed our orders promptly. We got the boo pad pong garee (crab with curry powder, eggs, and vegetables) and pad pak kwang toong (bok choy and tofu), which were recommended by our server. The crab dish was soo good and it was hands down the highlight. The bok choy wasn't anything interesting, though the sauce was really tasty. It was super cute inside and vibey. The owners of the restaurant and the staff recently came back from a trip to Thailand and the owners are inspired to create new dishes, and are planning on slowly changing out the menu. So if you've been before and have a dish you loved or want to try out one of their staples, make sure to plan a visit to Lom Wong before the whole menu is switched out!

GET A LOAD OF THIS!!!I made a 6pm reservations which they charged $30 for myself and my girlfriend from Thailand who wanted to try this restaurant. We drove 45 minutes from N. Scottsdale and arrived about 30 minutes early. The front of the house manager said "oh we love it when people come early" and then he said..."we have you sitting outside." I said, "we don't want to sit outside, it's 116 degrees out!" The manager then tells us, "well people who made a 6pm reservation prior to you, they get to sit indoors"Huh?? Why are you taking reservations then in the summer only to stick people outside in the hot sun? That's absurd! He tells us, well it's in the reservation that you can possibly be seated outside which didn't see but regardless, the audacity to expect people to sit outside in 110+ weather is ridiculous. We look inside and there are 4 open tables and I asked why can't we just take one of those tables and given we are 30 minutes prior for a reservation? He tells "no, those are for the 6pm reservations who made theirs prior to you but if you wait an hour, I can sit you at the bar area"Really? This is now just laughable. Yeah, we want to wait an hour past our reservation that you want us to sit outdoors and take a bar seat. I just said, we are not going to wait an hour and will just have to find another plan to eat. He then oddly tells us to go to another Thai restaurant instead and said "the good news is, I will refund your $30 reservation deposit"What a complete joke! The funny thing is, my girlfriend owned a local Thai restaurant for 10 years before she sold it and couldn't believe how we were treated and conducted business in this manner. Shameful and disgusting way to run a business! Will be interesting to see how the owner tries to make this rightOwners response was incorrect! Couldn't accommodate us period! Expect people to sit outside facing south and his "misters" are a complete joke! It's those low quality ones you use at home. Give me a break! Glad didn't spend $200 for BS

The food at Lom Wong is incredible and full of flavor. This was our third time dining here, and it remains home to one of our favorite drinks, the SOI THANIYA. For dinner, we started with the BURMESE TOMATO AND TEA LEAF SALAD, which was bursting with flavors. The GAI TAWT WON PEN was so crispy and, dipped in the flavorful sauce, quickly became my favorite fried chicken in town. The BOO PAD PONG GAREE was buttery and soft. The consistency of their food is impressive. We usually let the chef choose our meals, and every single time, they knock it out of the park! The portions are great, and the pricing is reasonable for what you get.I recommend making reservations because they get busy. Parking can also be a little frustrating during certain times of the day. During our last visit, we didn't have reservations, so we had to sit outside. This is tough in July, but luckily, the monsoon weather and the misters made it bearable. The drinks also helped.Do your taste buds a favor and visit this restaurant... you're welcome!!

In my experience, Lom Wong offers a 5/5 dining experience from the food to the service and ambiance. We went as a party of four and opted for the chef's selection, which worked out to be approximately $55-60 per person and included about 7-8 shared entrées for everyone. Among the dishes were deep-fried wings, bamboo shoots, tom kha gai soup, a melt-in-your-mouth curried crab dish, pork belly curry, and stir-fried wide rice noodles. Everything came out exceptionally fresh and well-seasoned. The service was great and attentive, and the meal was paced at an enjoyable rate. All in all, it was a fantastic dining experience. I really enjoyed eating there and highly recommend going to Lom Wong!

Beautifully minimalist Thai decoration. Service was great and food came out so quickly!!! We got the Arai Kodai- where the meal is created by the chef with their favorites in mind for the table. It took the guess work out of the equation and the dishes did not disappoint! My favorite was the Tom Kha - BEST I HAVE EVER HAD!! I don't live in Phoenix but I'd literally go back to the restaurant for the Tom Kha! Loved the crispy bamboo too as almost a crouton esque crisp. Drinks were outstanding as well! Green mango salad was great to cut the heat of the other spicy dishes. My fiance loved the spicy beef shank, which is good, because it was a little spicy for some of us. And the noodles and bokchoy were both hits with the rest of the fam. Overall a fabulous meal.

My friend took me here for my birthday dinner. We loved the curries the most, they both have coconut, eggplant, and basil but different spices and meats - the beef curry and the chicken curry were both delicious, highly recommend. Rice comes with the curry. The Green Mango Salad, Bok Choy with Tofu, and Fried Chicken were also good. The Banana Boy drink was delicious and light (dark rum, banana, allspice, and coconut). About $140 for 2 people. Service was nice, and the inside is lovely. Street parking available. Reservation advised, you can make it on their website.

We have been wanting to go here for the longest time and finally got to check it out for my husband's birthday. He loves Thai food and ever since our Thailand trip he has become a Thai food critic. Definitely recommend a reservation, the space is fairly small and was crowded even at 9pm. As soon as we got seated, the waiter explained to us the menu. Everything sounded delicious and we really just wanted to try it all. We opted for arai kodai, which is where the server builds the perfect meal for you based on your preferences. The cocktails were all delicious and very unique. My first drink had gin, shochu, and pandan and my second drink had mezcal, tom yum, and cucumber. We started with the green mango salad. My husband and I love papaya salad, but this was 100x better somehow. It was our favorite dish of the night and we were excited to try the rest after starting with this. The stir fried noodles with langoustine was our second favorite. The crab and egg dish was a close second, it reminded me of home. We can't wait to go back and try out the rest of the dishes. My husband said this is the best Thai food he's had outside of Thailand. If you are expecting the typical Thai dishes like pad Thai and green curry, this probably isn't the place. But if you want to try authentic Thai food that represent the different regions of Thailand then definitely check it out.

We have been wanting to try Lom Wong for some time now and last night we finally made it and wow was it worth it!! The host was knowledgeable and friendly. The wine selection blew my mind, so many wonderful bottles to choose from! We decided to do the chefs choice dining and we were not disappointed! Two of the 4 of us are vegetarian and they did a fabulous job choosing dishes we all would love! The flavors of all the dishes were amazing, so rich and deep with the perfect amount of spice. You can really taste the love that goes it their food! The restaurant is small but gorgeous. They decorated just enough to keep your eyes entertained. I literally I cannot wait to go back!! Thank you Lom Wong for a perfect dining experience!

Went here for a date night and we were able to squeeze in before it got too busy. Definitely would recommend getting a reservation as they are fairly busy. Loved the cozy intimate ambiance and they had a lot of heaters outside so we did not get cold at all! My boyfriend and I also shared every dish we ordered, but you could order individually. Drinks ordered:ROP NONG - We were recommended this gin based cocktail as a starter cocktail. It smelled amazing and the taste was good as well. While it was good, I don't know if I would order it again.SOT CHEUN - Amazing drink! Tequila based and very refreshing. When eating the spicer foods this drink helped soothe the tongue. I found myself having to resist drinking the whole thing all at once.We decided to do the ARAI KODAI - you tell them what flavors you like and they pick the dishes for you.Dishes served:YAM MAMUANG BORAN - So refreshing! I've never had a dish like this. I would definitely order again and a good dish to have to help cool down your mouth after eating spicy dishes. AE KAN KHLAK TI - My FAVORITE dish. I love seabass and the curry was to die for. I could quite literally eat the curry just over rice and be satisfied. PAD KWANG TOON - Just okay. I could have gone without this.TOM KHA GAI - The rich, comforting taste of the soup was the perfect way to end the night. The total for everything was $162.02. Overall, I see myself coming back here and would recommend to anyone looking to try some elevated Thai food.

Out of this world! Everytime we walk past Lom Wongs while enjoying a night on Rosevelt Row, we always say we have to try this spot! The smells that travel over their hidden Thai garden are top tier. We had some friends in town, so this was the perfect time to check them out. So happy we did! Once seated, our waiter gave us a thorough break down of the menu. He explained how Lom Wong's owners started their journey by hosting intimate dinner parties at their home. Both owners are natives of Thailand, and found their passion with connecting people to their culture. For drinks, I started with Mr. Baan's Medicine. This was a tumeric infused scotch, mixed with Thai soda, lemon, and honey. It was very refreshing, almost a palate cleanser. My absolute favorite dish of the night was the boo pad pong garee. The curry crab meat was INCREDIBLE. They also bring out a large bowl of rice for you to share. Some of my other favorites were the curry mussels & the Thai fried chicken. This was my first time having authentic Thai chili sauce, and it was insane. The curry soup for the mussels had an intense kick of spice, but it was seasoned to perfection. Lom Wongs is a little pricey, but you are paying for probably the best quality Thai food in the valley. I can not wait to visit again!
