I am changing my review based on recent events and observations. This used to be a safe space for me and my friends to hang out in our community. Recently, a cider tender, LEVI, refused to serve me blaming it on public safety because my girlfriend and I were wearing masks (mine was rainbow for Pride). Management later told us that LEVI lied to us because he wanted to avoid confrontation. As was told to me, he believed we were intoxicated and didn't want to serve us. So instead of being direct with us, he chose to lie and humiliate us in front of other patrons and community members until we decided to leave. We were not intoxicated. We left and immediately sent thoughtful emails to the company. My girlfriend and I are women of color and I believe that is the reason I was refused service, in addition to my Pride mask. Would LEVI had met two white men with hostilities, lies, and and ostracized them for wearing masks? Would LEVI have been afraid of confrontation with two white men? Management did reach out to us after we complained; offering a gift certificate and assuring us the LEVI was known to be a "kind and generous person" and that he's "handling it with him". (The definition of micro invalidation.) I recently notice a surge in Yelp reviews giving accolades to LEVI, after we questioned the company about LEVI's racist and homophobic behaviors. I can't help but believe these were solicited positive reviews. LEVI seems to be "kind and generous" to certain types of people. Definitely NOT my experiences with LEVI. Me and my girlfriend were loyal Swarm members to LOCUST for years. This is no longer a safe space for me and my community in my neighborhood. Yes, one person, one incident, one word, can ruin an entire company, experience, safe place. BIPOC and LQBTQA+ fam please make note and stay vigilant.

A really chill spot to hangout and enjoy a cider while you play old school Nintendo games. The vibes are great here. Locust has some of the best flavored ciders with a decent amount ABV. I would say Locust and Schilling are by far the 2 best cider houses in Washington. Definitely get a couple of flights to find the one you like best.

Stop in for some refreshing cider after your long walk. This place is in such a great location. The ciders are all wonderful and the service is even better. The blackberry cider had a sweet start but a dry end to it which was great because it was not too sweet.

Ciders in WA are delicous! Since moving here I have noticed the large variety of flavors and different levels of alcohol percentages. Ciders offer a sweeter alternative to beer and I have enjoyed sampling the various fruity flavors. Today, I did use Yelp to find this spot as I did not want to leave the coastline and the sunshine. Locus Cider is located at the end of town past the bath house right on the main "drag" across from the beach. I love to order flights so I can taste different flavors Here, a flight of 4 is $14.60, 5 $18.15, 6 for $21.90. All are four ounce pours. Just the right amount to get a good tasted of each. They also offer a few craft beers on their menu. 4 out of the 16 were beer.Sunshine and Saturday for me equaled a flight of six. No paper to write it down so I gave the friendly girl (forgive me I forget her name, but she was super sweet, friendly, and excellent service!), so I took notes on my phone so I would not forget the flavors I ordered. I could not resist two beers on my flight, of course! I am a beer nut too. LolIn the photos of my flight, from left to right I had,#6 Blackberry 6%, not too sweet with a great fruity taste#5 Honey Pear, 6 % ,more honey taste with an aftertaste of pear, yummy! Actually was my favorite and when it warmed to room temperature the flavors really came out.#2 Dark Cherry 6%, Intense cherry. But a yummy sweet cherry flavor. Not a yucky cough medicine cherry flavor, lol.#1 Original Dry 6% Clean, crisp, and light. Refreshing.#15 George Cavatica Stout 8.8%, yummy dark stout with a kick for a buzz.#14 Breaklust wanderlust IPA 6.2%, a delicous IPA not too hoppy. Too much hoppiness does not sit well for me despite being a beer lover too. I saw a pizza being served and imagine if I would have asked I could have had one. Today, I only had my flight and left with a six pack of the pear honey. Worth a visit if you at Alki beach. Lots of tables inside and a game station for hanging out with board games, cards, etc. The back area also had toys for those who have small kids. Music playing which was not too loud and for the sports fans one television playing football. A great chill spot for a beverage! Cheers and happy yelping.

Great cider bar with ever rotating amazing flavors of cider. Beer is also on tap here for customers who prefer it. The food is bar food don't expect a full restaurant; and yet they still have gluten free options and can accommodate almost any special request.Great staff, literally never met a mean or overworked/ under appreciated staff person yet. Although Levi is the Best! He's a great guy and knows his cider stuff!I hold small events here and it couldn't be a more accommodating place. Ask to speak with Levi to book your event. He lets us move tables and decorate every time! The best for birthday parties, D&D and dog walk start/ends.

Locust Cider isn't exactly my most favorite cidery out there but I have to really give them kudos on being creative with their ciders. Some of these flavors you don't see anywhere else or rarely see anywhere else.Which brings me to my latest cider experience with Locust. Just recently I got their Cold Brew Coffee Hard Cider. Now you see coffee in plenty of beers out there but I believe this is my first experience with coffee in a cider. It was very enjoyable actually. With elements of vanilla, coffee, nuttiness and of course apple this semi sweet cider comes together very nicely actually. For those of you who may wonder the coffee comes from Cutter's Point Coffee which is usually pretty decent with their coffee drinks as well.

The ciders are all amazing, not much more to say than that. Huge variety, all excellent. But the real draw is the people and the vibe, the ability to just pop in, have a pint or two, and chat with great customers and staff. Bring in food from somewhere, work for a bit, play some games, whatever. Jillian, Dave, and Levi are great. To management: make it more inviting from outside. Add more external signage, or lights/etc. in the windows.
