5 stars for coffee 5 stars for service 3 stars for food. After reading all the reviews we decided to give it a go. Inviting space that looks like a bar/coffee spot combo. Seats are tough as the chairs are at one height while the window bench seats are at another height, ok if you're tall. The breakfast sandwiches were good not great, both of ours were very buttery (or oily) not that it's a complaint. We had the bacon and the ham versions. I'm thinking the ingredients like bacon egg etc were pre-cooked and warmed up? Looking around we didn't see a kitchen, just a prep station. I'd like to go back in the evening and try out some of the other food but we probably won't do breakfast again. No photos were taken.

How I heard of this place: My sister recommended it to the whole family when we were all in town and wanted to take our nephew out for an early birthday lunch. Type of cuisine: Upgraded lunches of sandwiches, salads and soups, not to mention unique and novel seasonal beverages. "Tastefully creative yet simple, our homemade food is easily cultivated to merge with your fast-paced lifestyle or perfect to enjoy while you relax. From delicious breakfast wraps, wholesome soup and sandwiches, taco spin-offs and intriguing sweets, we have tailored our menu to reflect the diversity of all who come to visit."Ambiance: "So long to the clean, white, timber filled coffee houses and taprooms and say hello to color and abstract. Life is not simple; it can be both beautifully chaotic and dreadfully cutthroat. Locus brings to the world these oppositions to cater to all walks of life, with exceptional service and deliciousness! We embrace it all at Locus.""Locus is an integrative location in the heart of downtown Bellingham. Offering an urban-industrial space that brings all people together. Unleashing classic espresso, refreshing hops, tasteful wines, rare drink fusions and homemade bites. Grab and go or stay for as long as you'd like; your experience crafted to you by one local woman entrepreneur who dares to branch out by combining all your favorite indulgences."What I ordered: We had a large party, and the children were eager to share the novelty of sandwiches stuffed with chips as well as their usual meats/cheeses - tuna salad with Doritos, potato chips & grilled cheese, or something of the like. While I no longer see these on the online menu, they were sure a treat on our lunch visit. My sister and I shared the Turkey Grilled Cheese with Tomato & Parmesan Soup, ($18) - Turkey, provolone, tomato, pesto-mayo, rosemary sourdough, as well as a seasonal speciality of a Ham & Cheese sandwich served alongside dill pickle soup (my daughter's favorite). Our beverages were also seasonal, special, and strange all at once: lemon curd rose latte & topo chico mint cold brew. What I loved: The intriguing menu which made it hard to choose only one thing. Why I loved it: The vibrance of the aesthetic, the brightness of the space with windows full of natural light, and the casual setting, in spite of fancy, colorful furnishings, pillows and decor.Cost: High

Up and at 'em. Walking out for first morning in Bellingham prior to taking possession of our charter boat and looking for a good breakfast house. Locus pops up on Yelp with solid reviews so we walk on over. Killer little spot with some fresh coffee and some breakfast items that looked scrumptious. I'm not a coffee person but Barbro had a chai tea latte with an extra shot. Said it was the best she's ever had. I went with middle of the fairway breakfast sando with well done bacon. Portion was big. Eggs and cheese were melting (sooooo good) and the bacon was well done without being burnt. Loved the vibe and setting here. I could see this being a regular spot if I were a local.

The mimosa flight is a must!! I do wish they had more food menu items to choose from but the staff are always super friendly and helpful. Very accommodating as we were a table of 6. Hip little spot with great vibes!

Carefree cafe vibes, off a main drag. Service friendly and upbeat, very helpful. Food was damn near shockingly good. Didn't expect a grilled cheese and soup to be so explosive with flavour. Perfectly made and the best pairing on a saggy overcast day. Recommend this spot. The servers choice of music was also excellent.

This is a cute little cafe shop that offers a limited selection of food. I came here with a friend to pick up some food to go. The place is quite small. The staff are nice here. There are a few draw back about this place, it is located in downtown Bellingham and at certain times, you will have to pay for parking and sometimes parking isn't easy to find and you might have to walk a few blocks. The prices are not cheap here when it comes to drinks. Food prices are ok. Also depending on the time you come, food might take a while for it to be prepared. I came here with a friend and I ordered the Adoba Bowl. It is a seasonal specialty item. It was quite tasty. There were lots of flavor. Portion size was quite small for $15. Many of the food here that are offered has a fusion Mexican and American taste to it. I bought my Mexican friend here and she said the food is lacking the Authentic Mexican flavor in somewhat but it was not bad. Anyways, this place is not advertised as a Mexican restaurant so it doesn't matter to me.As mentioned, we ordered to go. We did noticed the staff forgot the utensil when handing the food to us but that was probably because a rush of customers walked in right at 11 am. I will let that slide. I would come here again.

HOW have I not written a review here before?!?!?My friend and I go here for a bottle of champagne every time we have something to celebrate - luckily this has been a good number of times! They were open, then my heart broke when they closed for a while, and they are BACK IN THE GAME, BABY! The food is amazing, and the offerings get better and better! While the original menu is good, the seasonal specials are what really get me excited. This past winter they had a Thai curry soup, in the fall there was an apricot and brie grilled cheese, and at Christmastime they had holiday mimosas. You can't go wrong here - they are dog friendly outside, and the service has always been very friendly and casual. I am so glad they are back in business, and they will continue to be a staple when I'm in the mood to celebrate!

I was looking for something to eat and a sweet treat but wanted to try something new. I looked up a few different places but I ended up coming here because of the blueberry lemon curd latte that was featured on the menu. I'm so glad I did because that latte was absolutely delicious. Not only was it unexpected but the flavor was creamy and light. It's a little on the expensive side but it does say homemade syrup and if the curd is also homemade then it makes sense. I also ordered some food and got the Italian sausage wrap with salsa. *chefs kiss* it was delightful! I'm normally not a fan of shredded potatoes but I didn't mind them in this. The salsa made the wrap ten times better so I recommend eating it with that. Overall this was an enjoyable experience.

Drip coffee is not good. If you like Starbucks coffee, you won't like this. Ambiance is great. Staff friendly.
