My partner's comment was, "I would definitely come back to this place". I would agree. Local Tide is a well organized counter order 30 seat restaurant on 36th St in Fremont that lived up to its reputation. The fish was fresh, attractively presented and a bit innovative. We sat at the bar because when we arrived. all the table seats were occupied. If we had waited ten minutes, we would have found a table. It also looked like we could have gone next door and sat down at a table at the Aslan Brewing Co. which is connected via a pass through between the two spaces and just ordered our lunch there. The short menu was clearly posted on a board adjacent to the cashier counter and organized into three sections, Sides, Sandwiches and Plates and Bowls and one special which was a crab roll on the Friday that we ate there.I opted for the Rock Fish Banh Mi which I had actually decided on when I looked at the menu this morning. Marion chose the Black Cod Kasuzuke. I enjoyed my sandwich although I expected a bit more of a nuoc mam flavor since that is what Banh Mi says to me. It was appropriately spicy but in this town of great bread and baguettes I was slightly disappointed in the mushy roll that it was served on. How difficult could it be to source a crispy baguette and slice it? Marion loved the black cod served with seaweed salad and purple rice. I did not disagree with her sentiments or the opinion of a friend who said it was the best black cod he had ever eaten.Next time I think I will order the salmon teriyaki which passed by us multiple times as we sat at the counter which was in front of the prep station. Since we were sitting just in front of the food prep area I I was very impressed with the cleanliness and attention to detail of the staff. Counters were frequently wiped, plates tidied up and the entire operation seemed to flow without a hitch. Noise level was acceptable according to my hearing aid assisted standards as well as my iPhone decibel meter and there were no complaints from the credit card reader after we inserted our card. Looking forward to our next visit.

Local tide is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Seattle! Whether you're a seafood lover or not (they have an amazing smash burger + fries), it's the right place to go. Special s/o to their Shrimp toast which is originally a Hong Kong dish (think Honey walnut shrimp meets a toasted brioche). Parking can be difficult and pricing is fair but high, however, it's 100% worth. Must gets: Shrimp toast and smash burgerAmazing: rockfish bowl Salmon teriyaki and fries Yummy but would pass if you have a small stomach: fried oysters, albacore sandwich, fish sandwich

Local Tide has been on of a lot of top lists recently, so I was pretty excited to try it. We came on a weekend and I got their crab roll which I believe is only available on weekends. The crab roll was delicious, really fresh crab on a nice, soft (but slightly toasted) roll. I also tried their chowder which was pretty good but somewhat nontraditional. It had some fresh clams still in their shells but also some peas and carrots which was a bit weird. My husband got their fried fish sandwich and chips which were quite good, although the chips were maybe a bit oily. Only street parking available but it wasn't too hard to find a spot. You order first when you enter and then they will seat you.

Ambiance is comfortable and welcoming. Staff is nice and they leave you alone but are around if you need any thing. Food arrived in a timely manner and the carafe of water arrived immediately. Shrimp toast is deliciously prepared and tasty. Fried oysters were of great size and tasty as well. Each arrived with a beautiful garnish which also doubled as a side salad! Thoughtful and perfect dishes, especially the fried dishes; great balance! The salad we ordered with almonds was perfect as well. Restaurant filled up immediately after we finished. Popular place, as it deserves!

Yummm. Local tide is one of those places where you can really taste the freshness of ingredients. Plus the staff is so friendly! Overall a great vibe. I loved the shrimp toast and salmon salad. No parking but we found street parking fairly easily.

After a long walk around Lake Union, we stopped at Local Tide for a late lunch. Many friends had recommended this place, so I was happy to have the opportunity to try it. The menu is pretty straightforward, and the dining area is casual and relaxed, but modern and clean at the same time.We got the grilled salmon sandwich, and the rockfish bun me. We asked for the salmon sandwich to be hot, as it is normally served, cold, and the staff we're happy to make that happen. The fish is clearly quite fresh, and the sauces used are delicious. I loved my bun me. The bread wasn't my favorite, but the toppings and fish were and fresh.Service is super quick, and they thankfully had outlets to charge our phones, which were low on battery. It's located in a great area of Fremont - perfect for visitors!

It's been a while since we went to Local Tide so I don't remember all the details of each dish but I was cleaning out my photos and stumbled upon these gems.Everything we had was delish. The "garnishing" side salads were a revelation. Even the kids' cheese burger looked amazing. I wanted a bite but she inhaled it.The crew is super friendly and wonderful.Highly, highly recommend.

Why 5 stars? Because this was the perfect way to finish off my day. --- --- ---In researching a bunch of restaurants to check out while in Seattle, Local Tide stood out to me as I place I definitely wanted to try. As fate would have it, someone recommended we check out a beer bar before dinner, and that beer bar was literally about 100 yards away from Local Tide. So it was meant to be. We had a pretty big, late lunch, so I wasn't starving, but I definitely wanted to try a couple things. Shrimp toast and clam chowder? Sounds like the perfect combination. The clam chowder I thought was sold, but unspectacular. I prefer a creamier base. But the shrimp toast was everything I wanted it to be. It came with a sweet mayo and a chili sauce for dipping. The chili sauce was way too spicy for me, but the sweet mayo was ideal. But probably more impactful than the food were the people working here. We were all decked out in our Browns gear for the game that was happening the next day, and a couple of the employees basically chatted with us the whole time about football, what the stadium experience would be like and Seattle in general. Awesome time, great food, super people.

We were looking for a good seafood lunch while visiting Seattle and didn't want the tired old you gotta eat here places. Found this place while exploring the Lake Union area and could not have been more pleased. We had a crispy fish sandwich and a salmon sandwich and the clam chowder. Ate at the counter as we were walk ins and all tables were full. Service was quick and pleasant and food was outstanding. The salmon was perfect and the bun and topping merged into one fine melody. The crispy fish was super crispy and still tender and moist. The chowder was over the top. Creative approach to what is often a cloying pasty mess. Infused with bits of bacon and nicely done vegetables that retained their texture and flavor with a good amount of clams in the shell. Outstanding if you don't hang on to traditional approaches to traditional dishes. Nice neighborhood vibe no bibs no cocktail sauce no sticky booths.

I saw Local Tide during a Kenji video and knew I had to check it out. We stopped by on a Sunday after walking through the Fremont Sunday Market and surprisingly had no wait. You have to order at the counter before being seated - small plates, salads, bowls, and plates. They also offer a limited amount of crab rolls on weekends only, which I've heard is incredible, but I didn't have the appetite for it this time around. We opted for the Dover & Fries as well as the Shrimp Toast to share across our group. The inside has somewhat limited seating, with a large amount being "bar" situated in front of the kitchen, but it doesn't feel overly cramped. Service was incredibly friendly - they were quick to clean up tables, describe dishes, and check in on us. Food came out hot, fresh, and looking incredible. Everything tasted stellar. The Shrimp Toast came with a house-made chili sauce that was out of this world - and quite spicy! We ended up asking for more to share across the table and dipped the dover and fries in it, too I'll absolutely come back here to sample more of the menu. Delicious, fresh food, amazing service, and a great local business to support. Also, the illustration in the back hallway by Ningeokuluk Teevee is gorgeous (pictures attached!)
