Review is for front of the house COFFEE SHOP This place offers delicious espresso. Barista was friendly and had great suggestions as I'm usely indecisive. I ordered the slammer (4 espresso shot) and customized it iced with oat milk and lavender. I loved that the drink was perfectly sweetened. As I was leaving I noticed they had a cold brew with cream top that I'd like to try next time around.

I had some friends in from Rome and I was showing them the beach. I remember this place being fairly nice, I was so wrong. It took 16 minutes to get a coffee and a tea (that was already made) If they were crazy busy I would understand. It wad lack of organization on their part. I watched and several larger orders come up from people who ordered after I did. After 15 minutes I asked the lady what was taking so long for a coffee (the tea was poured over ten minutes ago) and I got a rude response that they were already working on it. Even it was done they slammed it on the table and wouldn't look at me. I also ordered food to go. It came out quick, hot, and delicious. So I know the kitchen was good. The kitchen staff is the only reason this place even gets a star.Unfortunately my food was cold by the time my coffee was finally made. On top of it all, it was a terrible coffee.

This is my first time in this place since it has been recommended by many of my friendsI came on Friday night about 9 PM for a girl birthday nightPros1- Spaceous and big2- Nice victorian old style like an old hotel style nicer than the old location ( the other one had a view though) 3- Easy can fit large groups4- Had a coffee shop section and a Hookah sectionCons5- It was fully packed on Friday night and would recommend reservation on the weekend especially for big group6- Very slow service as they were full house. It was hard to find a server or have them to get to do things7- On the weekend, For a large group. They would take only one or 3 cards max ( divide it per table) so plan a headParking : On Friday nights there were few free street parking spotsso if u keep looking u will find oneOr my friend said there is vallet for 15 but they close at 10:30Or there r plenty of public parking on Prospect ave and prices ranging 30-50 flat daily rate regardless the hoursThey have a band on Friday who played arabic music and songs. I enjoyed them luckily our table was far from the band as it was very loud. FoodAppetizers : Okaish not the bestMixed grill: was pretty goodWill I come back : probably yes I will give it another shot Things to work on: service on weekend when they r full house.

Ordered lunch to-go and they forgot to make our order...waited at least 30-45 min when we were told it would be 15-20 min. The food was good, hit the spot but wasn't anything to write home about. The staff seemed a bit all over the place/disorganized. I liked the space, there were a lot of people studying/doing work, I can see how it would be popular for this reason.

The food was great. The drinks good. The service friendly but slow. We sat outside to enjoy the weather and even though a delivery truck parked next to us and ran the entire time it was pleasant.

Service is quick, but the food is too expensive; I spent ~$8 for mid-tasting coffee! At first, I was okay with paying that much since I wanted a place to study. However, the manager/owner approached us and kept questioning if we purchased something. Someone came by earlier to clean up our plates so he didn't see the evidence. He talked to us as if we just walked in and sat down without supporting them. Overall, a negative experience. I will not be back.

New location rocks! This place is so spacious and has comfortable seating where you can hang out and work on school or work or personal projects. They have a wide variety of drinks and now their food options are much wider. They have very nice bathrooms but that toilet paper is basically sandpaper..... not ok.They do have a bar in the very back of the place and it's dark and trendy, looks great for a date night. We are very excited to be at their new location and look forward to many more trips back.

I have frequented Living Room quite a few times, both for hookah at night and some studying during the day. I will say, make sure that if you come during the day that you make sure your devices are charged-- as you will have a hard time finding an outlet. But you definitely won't have a hard time finding seating, as there is plenty of booths and tables for small or large parties! The music they play throughout the place is fairly mellow, so you can get away with not bringing any earbuds. Another tip, have a hot spot ready. Their wifi can be pretty unreliable in connection, if you manage to connect at all.Food wise, I've tried the pizza (don't recommend), baba ganoush (8/10), and fries (9/10). Things usually come out fairly quick and I'd say most of the menu is decently priced. I always order an iced chai, they make it great here. Never tried their baked goods but I do appreciate the vast array of different items you can enjoy. They definitely give you plenty of options. Also, they have 2 separate menus for lunch and dinner. As for the hookah, it's just like any other lounge. Their new lounge is very cozy and comfortable. They have the ambiance down and I love that the bar is open and accessible to the whole room. Be careful coming on the weekends, as parking can be difficult to find and at night the line to hookah can be quite a long wait. They had it closed till 8:30pm one day because the whole lounge was sold out for karaoke.I do really think this place is a gem in La Jolla, and will continue to return!

Giving this place a 3 solely for the vibes !! I loved their old location .. which is why I was excited to come to the new location. Definitely very nice and has expanded ! Unfortunately, the barista who helped me was very infriendly. I inquired about the drinks to which her response was "I don't know". So I asked if she could ask someone who knew. She seemed visibly annoyed she had to go ask someone .. but I want to know what I'm drinking! Other than that. Nice vibe. Great location right by La Jolla !!
