Little Dutchie

Got to try out Little Dutchie for the first time at the San Diego Soul Food Festival and was first in their line! I'm such a fan of Caribbean food so I was excited to try them out. They were giving out generous samples of their curry chicken which was delicious and also selling beef Jamaican Pattie's which is my absolute favorite! I had to get two and by far it was my favorite thing of the whole festival. I definitely want to try out their whole menu (which isn't posted anywhere at their truck, unfortunately) next time I see them out and about!

Love the Oxtail and Jerk Chicken plates. Service is always good. S/O to DJ Rasko! They come to Casa Mira View on some Mondays and Wednesday at the Foodie Feast and have specials.

Ordered jerk chicken and a beef patty. They said the beef patty would be out in 15 minutes but it was longer. They even called me over mistakenly thinking it was but then it wasn't. We got orders from two other trucks and my husband went and picnicked with my kid and I was still waiting. I asked if I could take a soda instead and they said the patty would still be another ten minutes so I took the soda. Jerk chicken was bland and the whole experience was frustrating and just disappointing. As others have complained, prices aren't posted. A lady came to check that her curry cost was right. Would not recommend at all.

We had Little Dutchie's at Foodieland last night and the food and service was INCREDIBLE.My sister and I tried the oxtail and the beef pastries. It was by far our favorite thing we had at Foodieland. The tenderness of the oxtail paired with the red beans and rice, cabbage, and plantains was perfection. It tasted like a comforting home cooked meal.Before we left, we had to stop by a second time and get two more orders of the oxtail! It was sooooo good!

It is so frustrating trying to order food from this food truck. First of all they don't post the prices. So you have to ask the person taking the order how much each item costs. How annoying and time consuming is that? I know the guy standing behind me is not pleased I am wasting time. Also the menu today is written on a white board with yellow ink. So you can't even read what it says unless you are a foot away from the board.
