After giving it a few more tries we are throwing in the towel. The lounge area is nice, but the actual restaurant has 1$/lf Home Depot lattices stapled to the walls. Food portions are so small it's nearly comical. Main dishes are effectively a la carte . And the last two times we visited the service was disorganized and pretentious. I used to take business partners to the Morado, I would not do the same with Lilian's. There are no high marks in any category, unfortunately.

The only positive from tonight was our server Meg, she was great. Food on the other hand was very overpriced for the quality of what was being servedWhat I got...Espresso Martini 6/10 (need a good cream for the top)Burrata Salad 6/10 (mid)Salmon Crudo 4/10 (ponzu was very salty)Duck Tostada 3/10 (overwhelming amount of duck to tostada ratioButternut Squash Pasta 1/10 (very smoky taste, like had been in a bbq smoker for the whole day, make this at home from Trader Joe's and tasted 10x worse than what I make)Rib Eye Steak 5/10 (blehhh, no seasoning, had to get salt and pepper for it because other than that it was just a piece of meat in oil on my plate)Wonderland desert 6/10 (mid, nice design but the taste of items was really odd)Really hope this is seen as more constructive criticism than being bashful, I just didn't enjoy any of my food and neither did my dateCR

Absolutly blown away by the staff at Lilian's & special shoutout to Mckenzie, Director of Marketing, and the F&B staff for going above and beyond to make my first experience at Lilian's and The Inn a memorable one. I am looking at property out in RSF and so excited to recommend any friends/family coming to visit to stay here! The property is so peaceful but it's the staff that make it truly special.

Lillian's Restaurant is located within the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, on Paseo Delicias, in the Village. The grounds of the Inn are verdant and well-maintained, and they make for a pleasant pre or after lunch stroll. The restauant is named in honor of Lillian Rice, the architect who shattered glass ceilings in the 1920's with her work in architecture, and the beauty of Rancho Santa Fe today is in large part a result of Lillian Rice's efforts and talents. To own a Lillian rice designed house in Rancho Santa Fe is the ultimate in prestige! The menu offerings at Lillian's on Sunday afternoon is too "brunchy" for me. When I inquired of the kind server, Sam, if there was any "real food" available, he let out a hearty laugh. The servers wear beautiful plaid bests, which assignment to the festive scene. The wine list is broad and interesting. I selected a bottle of Heitz Cabernet Saugvignon, which I enjoyed. An after-lunch Irish Coffee was perfectly made by the bartender and smilingly-delivered to the table by Sam.

I'm bummed because I really liked the vibe of this place but the food and service were terrible. It look forever for our server to come and take our order and then a very long time for our food to arrive. When it finally did, no one in my party enjoyed their food. The butternut squash pasta tasted extremely smoky and strange (you could make better from Trader Joe's in my opinion) and all the other dishes were very bland/lacked flavor. Save your money and try a different spot for dinner.

Nice place to spend with friends. The food was good except for the lobster. It was not prepared correctly, cut in half and no real meat in it. Very messy don't do it- not a great experience. The chicken was amazing and the duck tacos phenomenal.Carrot cheesecake so good!

Excellent restaurant! It's quite a fun destination spot coming to Rancho Santa Fe to eat at this luxury inn. The interior was very comfortable. And the food was excellent! We had the Caesar salad the pear buratta salad. Both were excellent. Then I had the lamb chops and my husband had the scallops. We would order both again. For sides we got the roasted carrots and the puréed potatoes. Loved both of them. We would re order everything again and can't wait to come back. Our server Arthur was attentive and knowledgeable.

Ambiance: AMAZING.Food:Crab & Avocado Salad: crab was a little on the smelly sideDuck Tostadas: MUST ORDER. They are tiny but full of flavor: be careful as they have a kick. Creamed spinach: good but very richBrussel sprouts: SUPER SPICY, and tons of sauce. 8oz filet: it was alright, nothing to write home about Lobster: do not order, barely any meat to it; and messy! Chicken: probably the best of the entree's. The skin was very fatty though. Gluten free carrot cake: a MUST order! Service: not good. The waitress' assistant was too preoccupied with his girlfriend and her friend who had come to dine that our waters were never refilled, he made a fuss about cleaning our table; we literally had to wave our hand in the air to get his attention, our plates were left dirty on the table, and he brought tons of free dessert and items to his girlfriends table but when we told them about some of our issues.. they wouldn't even take off the fries! I would have gone back or recommended this to others but because of the service, I am not & giving it 2 stars.

I have to give credit where credit is due. After our initial sub-par visit, management reached out, eager to make things right. We returned for lunch and had an amazing visit from beginning to end.First of all: the property is beautiful. Their patio overlooks a courtyard and is extremely well-kept. Our server greeted us promptly and she was great... friendly, involved, helpful... everything you could hope for. The manager visited our table throughout the meal to check on us, making time to have a conversation about the recent remodel and upgrades to the property. He really made us feel special. The food was perfect. My wife had the chicken sandwich and I had the steak frites. Both were exactly what we wanted and were cooked to perfection. For dessert, we were able to try everything and WOW... so good! Especially the bruleed beignets with a trio of dipping sauces. We could've eaten those all day if we weren't already so full. I could go on but let me say this: our lunch at Lilian's was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a very long time and I would have no problem returning or recommending a visit from family o friends. We'll definitely be back
