Lili Sushi

If you're looking for a small, quaint restaurant with intimate seating, this spot is perfect. The menu is huge, featuring ramen, udon, fried rice, and an extensive variety of sushi rolls. The service is quick and friendly, making for a pleasant dining experience.I visited on a Monday evening, and the vibe was chill. Here's what I ordered:- **Green Dragon Roll**: 10/10 - I ordered this roll first to savor the flavors. It was well worth each bite.- **Spicy Salmon Roll**: 5/5 - A delightful blend of spice and freshness. - **Spicy Shrimp Roll**: 3/5 -it didn't stand out as much as the other rolls.Overall, a fantastic place for sushi lovers!

It's really closer to 1.5 stars but that wasn't an option.As the late, great Anthony Bourdain once said, "never buy fish from a restaurant on Monday". But only SLIGHTLY less well known (besides this and starting a land war in Asia) is "never eat sushi from the burbs".....I should have listened.Eating a special dinner on Monday wasn't my fault, blame it on my birthday, but it was my fault for forgetting rules 1 and 2 above. But I guess it is my fault for choosing sushi in the burbs for my very special day.I have to say that the order I had delivered from Lili sushi takes the birthday cake in terms of worst sushi meal I've had so far in the Western Chicago suburbs. The quickest way for me to paint a picture is that my daughter threw up (twice after eating the unagi/cucumber role and my wife immediately spit out the hamachi appetizer. Please don't worry, it was touch and go for a while, but everyone is fine now.I think we did a good job ordering a wide selection of items to see which stood out:-Hamachi dice chilis-gyoza-sushi deluxe (with spicy tuna roll)-shrimp tempura roll-unagi/cucumber roll-spicy scallop roll-tonkatsu ramenBasically everything that had fish in it, I cannot in good conscious, recommend. Besides a couple of pieces, most was either chewy, off colored, or fishy. Unfortunately, the only picture I have to share is of the now infamous hamachi. The fact it looked thin, chewy and the color of un-baked pottery should have been a sign, but I put on a brave birthday face and ate more than one piece, and my poor digestive system is paying the price.Follow your instincts my fellow Illinois suburbanites and order the steak and potatoes on your special day. Or head to the city if you are feeling like sushi.Oh, why the half star? The ramen was actually pretty decent. Broth was rich, pork was flavorful and moist.

For some odd reason, a lot of sushi places are closed around 2 pm... I was late for lunch but early for dinner but luckily Lili Sushi was open. For an appetizer, I ordered the Crab Rangoons and Fried Calamari. The calamari was perfectly cooked and bite cleanly. No chewiness at all All the rolls I ordered for lunch were fresh and tasted amazing. The service was top notch and the food arrived fairly quickly. The location is fairly small but there were plenty of tables to go around. When I arrived around 2, there was no one else in the restaurant but I was never ignored. This place is one of my favorite sushi places. I will surely return in the future.

First time trying this place and it did not disappoint!! Got 3 rolls and miso soup for less than $20! I will be switching up the rolls my next time there!

Why doesn't my sushi taste like fish?Why is my sushi so crunchy instead of squishy....like fish?I ordered a spicy tuna roll. Yes, the menu said it had tempura flakes, but what I didn't know is that there was so much tempura flakes (panko breading) that it made up most of the roll. It was so much it was overpowering the roll.I gave a 1 Star review a week ago on Kinta Sushi which was worse, so I'm giving 2 stars to Lily as it's slightly better than Kinta. This is really not good sushi, and if you think it is....I don't think you've had good sushi.

My daughter and I were on our way to one of our regular ramen spots when I decided to see what other places were nearby. A quick glance at ratings and the menu and we knew we had to try Lili. It is a very cute space and we were immediately welcomed with a big smile. There are a lot of sushi options, which you can watch being prepared at the sushi bar up front. My daughter and I both got pork tonkutsu, but she omitted the egg, sesame seeds, and seaweed. I had a small Sapporo and my daughter had the strawberry ramune. The food was amazing and the service was perfect. We look forward to coming back soon to try more of the menu and friendly service!

Fantastic sushi! Had a great girls night there. Very kind staff. I'm gluten free and they had gluten free soy sauce. They were also very knowledgeable and able to make accommodations to rolls so I could eat them. We will definitely be back!

Best sushi spot in the area. Highly recommend the Chicago bears roll and flavored ice teas

Amazing food(spicy tuna, pink lady roll, and sweet potato roll are my favorite) great range of vegetarian options and food, service is great and the atmosphere is highly recommended

We just moved to the area and we are thrilled that there are so many good ethnic restaurants. We did take out from this restaurant and it was excellent!We usually order sushi once a week so it's great to know they are so nearby and very good!!! We will be regular customers I'm sure.
