4/5 stars for aesthetic2/5 stars for ambiance3/5 stars for music (love the music itself, just too loud!)4/5 stars for service2/5 stars for food 5/5 for being fully plant based!I really enjoyed the overall ~vibes~ at Life on Mars and what they were going for but I did find it to be a bit overwhelming. Between the loud music and the loud crowds, it was very overstimulating. The booths and decor are really nice though and the service was great. The menu looked really promising and I had been excited to try this place out for a long time. We ordered the nachos with chorizo, the chicken sandwich with fries, crab cake po boy with fries, side of aoli, and the orange tres leches. The nachos were pretty standard. The chorizo wasn't super flavorful but the cheese sauce was good. I wish there would have been more jalapenos. My partner described the nachos as "60% lettuce by volume". The blue cheese chicken sandwich was very mushy. The bun was mushy and so was the chicken. Neither of us could taste the blue cheese. The aoli was tasty and the fries had a nice crisp to them. The po boy was also really mushy and structurally unpleasant to eat. The flavor was fine but not very strong. I couldn't really tell what was going on. The fries were good. The tres leches was very flavorful but a little dry. It was our favorite part of the meal. However, the berries they used for decoration were frozen solid.

Second time in. They don't really advertise that they're a vegan restaurant/bar at first, until you question something, and then it's full attitude and superiority--"well, since we're a vegan bar...". Fine. I am hip (dare I say "woke", of fear of reprimand there.I I asked for a chocolate martini because the door guy said they could make me one. When I got up to the bar and ordered it, the bar tender was not there. Instead, there was a man who described himself as an administrative consultant and assistant to the bartenders, I was impressed. And I also tried to recruit him. He let me know that he was not a bartender, nor food server, bur rather: His job was to go around and interview everyone about their experience today. I thought, well, that's awful sweet. But so far, in my experience I wanted a glass of water that hadn't been offered to me, and this guy let me know that he was not there to get the water but to only inquire about my feelings about not having it. Pausing for you to sigh and make similar faces to what I did.Soon later, the actual bartender let me know that she did not have the right ingredients for a chocolate martini, but she could use some of her Vegan options to get close to it. It sounded intriguing. It was also $17.84. It was not lined with gold--I checked--nor any sign of gluten--more important. After I drank this odd, non-dairy, non-chocolate, surge-free, gluten-free, service-free drink, I had to use the restroom. I walked down the hall to the very nice and clean restroom and came right back. In the less than 5 minutes I had been gone, my server had assumed that I had just walked out without paying the bill. This made me chuckle. Do people do this often here?? Could it bee your frustrating, know-it-all attitude or your overly expensive prices? I was able to comfort my server, but--back to the odd mix of vegan/corporate structure that also contributed to my "GET ME THE DUCK OUT OF HERE" feeling, he asked me to place a new order because he had already marked my previous order as a "Bad Debt Writeoff" in the system, thinking that when I went to the bathroom (leaving my coat, bag, wallet and phone still on the char)., I would need to open up a new tab if I wanted to drink more there. At not one point had anyone apologized for anything. Two drinks, at a non-well-known bar, which offered no live entertainment, snotty service and a limited drink menu came out to $42.77 with tip. For 2 drinks. Two WELL drinks. And when I paid, there was no friendly person to say hey, please come again, or anything like that at all.Next time you want to pay prices like that, may I recommend you go to any of the fabulous Hotel bars we have in our city. They will gladly bring you to notch, delicious drinks for about the same prices, but, because you're dealing with Mariott or Hilton, they actually have the training to say, "thanks, have a great night".

Pretty decent drinks, hipster environment, service was a bit spotty, waited to place order for drinks, had to flag down server to get our check, 2 drinks came out to be $45 plus tip. Didn't order any food but looked like a pretty good menu.

This place is fantastic. The drinks are amazing, the food is crisp, tasty, and probably some of the best nachos I've ever eaten. The servers were hilarious, friendly, and just general good natured people and the bar was busy but fun. Really great atmosphere if you want to chill with a friend or a group. I'd highly recommend this place.

We arrived late to Seattle and were starving. So glad we found this place that stays open late! First, greeted by friendly staff, then there is their great drink menu (we ordered the Friendship Bracelet that came in a panda bear glass). The food was yummy - we ordered the fresh cut fries and the cauliflower bites that were both delicious AND in big portions. They have a wall of records and 2 spin tables with great music. Definitely a cool place to check out!

My favorite bar in Cap Hill!! Love the vibe. It's dim and great place to catch up with friends or a first date. For cocktails, I get The Opener every time because it's so good!! I've tried a few others but this one is my favorite. It's fruity and herby but not overly sweet either.I love their food as well. I'm always skeptical of vegan food but honestly everything I've tried here has been delicious. Love their Parmesan butter cauliflower wings and their late night tacos.

I've been coming to Life on Mars about every couple months since they opened, and every time I have had such a great experience. I appreciate the creativity that comes with the all vegan menu, and love the non alcoholic cocktail options. The vibes inside are fun, great music and lots to look at. It can get pretty busy on a weekend or for brunch, so be prepared for a potential wait, but it's worth it!

One of my favorite spots in Seattle! It has some of the best vegan food I've tasted in the city. The staff is friendly and i love a place with good music and vibes. I enjoy their themed DJ nights and happy hours are fun with the ability to pick your own records for them to spin.

This is a vegan bar with great food and delicious cocktails. It was busy but luckily we were able to find two seats at the bar so we didn't experience a wait. The staff were all friendly so kudos to them for making things look effortless. I like the names of the cocktails- they're fun and easy to remember. I can't wait to visit again and try their brunch.

Host was a jerk on 4/12. Food was decent but a bit overpriced for what you get. I would recommend you go elsewhere for plant based eats
