Yamato Japanese Steak House

We really enjoyed all of our food. My husband and I got hibachi steak and shrimp, my daughter got a bento box with steak and my son got two sushi rolls. The flavors were all good (onion soup was slightly too salty) and the wait staff was super friendly and welcoming. We were visiting from out of town and they were open late and located very close to the big Walmart. Win-win for us!

We are from Louisiana and we love bold flavorful food. Quite frankly, most of the restaurants we have eaten at in Kentucky are quite mild and underwhelming. The hibachi and sushi both were very fresh and delicious staff and service were fantastic and they had our party of eight in and out and no time. We definitely will be back.

This has become one of our favorite places in Leitchfield, food is good, never crowded, if a Japanese take of steak and sushi is your thing, do not pass it up. They offer combo plates, lunch and dinner, the sushi can be had many ways. My wife and I Recommend!

We enjoyed this Asian restaurant, but nothing special. There were not many options in Leitchfield, especially on a Sunday night when most locations were closed. We were pleasantly surprised to find good hibachi grill entrees. My husband had chicken and scallops with grilled vegetables, and I had filet mignon and shrimp. Good portion size. Came with soup and salad. Service was very good, but ambiance was nonexistent.

Ate here for the first time tonight & we will be back. Hibachi meals were great !! We have a place at Rough & come to Leitchfield Walmart often but will be making this a new stop.

Chicken Udon was impeccable, nice flavor and fresh noodles. Other items like sushi served to nearby tables looked on point. This is the real deal here in Grayson Co. Nice local Japanese cusine find.

AMAZING!! We moved from Hawaii to Kentucky last summer. We have missed good Asian food in general. Amazing Japanese restaurant. Felt like I was back in Hawaii for dinner

Visiting from nearby Lexington, KY for the 4th at Rough River Dam Resort and wanted to try this nicely appointed sushi/hibachi restaurant in Leitchfield, KY. For appetizers, we ordered Lobster Rangoons, they came in an order of 6. My wife and I both tried them. They were overcooked (hard and crunchy with burnt ends) and tasteless. The plum sauce provided could not redeem them. We set them aside and proceeded to order main courses. My wife ordered spicy tuna rolls and I ordered shimp and scallop hibachi with siracha and fried rice. This came with a nicely made fresh side salad and miso soup.My wife enjoyed the miso and said it was quite flavorful. It had scallions and tofu. The salad was a surprise in that it was nicely/thinly chopped and they provided the ginger dressing to apply as sparing or as liberally as you'd like. The spicy tuna rolls were well made, of firm consistency with panko and siracha in the middle of the rolls. My hibachi meal was spot on with nice sized seared shimp and scallops and vegetables. The spice was decent, a little more of black pepper and less siracha than I expected but still enjoyable. The fried rice was also good, not too laden with oil. Most of all, our server, Mallory, was a complete sweet heart and made us feel very welcome . When I told her we didn't love the "lobster rangoon" of which 4 of 6 remained and I showed her why, she tried to get her boss to make it right. With all of the good here the rating would have been a solid 4 stars out of 5 but for the management. You can't serve over-cooked unedible food to your patrons, even a little and expect them to be okay with paying for it. Next time make it right. Not all people want something for nothing, especially when they left you the evidence of what wasn't right on the plate. I hope the $4.49 was worth bringing this type of attention to your establishment. We will be back to RRD. We love the water. Not so sure about here.

Food was good. I had the Hawaii Roll and my husband had chicken teriyaki. The service was terrible. We got our bill about 2 minutes after ordering. We even told the waitress it wasn't ours since we had just ordered. She said she thought she'd just go ahead and give it to us. Weird. My husband never received his soup & salad. We mentioned it to her and she said "oops" but never brought it. Our food arrived and we said something about it again and she said she would give us a to-go cup of soup & salad. What??? Yes, there were others dining there that evening but business was not that busy and they had 3 servers working. And this was not a careless teenager waitress.

Very responsible prices! Never disappointed. Very fast service. Great selection on of sushi also!
