Love their bentos and I always get a side of yum yum and eel sauce.Don't forget to get the monkey brains... lolThe only downside is the soda, from my perspective, tasted plasticy. I think it was from a bottle maybe. That's well and good.

Second review On the plus side the food is greatThat's itAgain the service was very lacking and I was the only one in thereIt took over five minutes to get my drink after I orderedThe lady might be very nice I can't tellShe speaks so fast and from what I could understand very little English The atmosphere is darkened and a tv is on with great music. But after I got my lunch she turns on something (TV I think) behind the counter and so loud it drowned out the music in the dining room The only time she checked on me or I could ask for a refill was when she brought me the check Again I was the only one thereThis place would rock (like the one in Madison) if they could only fix the service issue. Classic Yamato restaurant if you have been to one before this is pretty much the same. Sushi is good and so is the food. Service is usually prompt and I haven't really had to wait very long. I love Yamato they pop up in smaller towns and give a variety to the regular fast food joints that you usually only would get in a small town. The building is an old Pizza Hut that I used to go to every weekend as a kid so even though it's not a Pizza Hut I still get all the feels and memories from my childhood.

About 10 minute drive from my workplace, didn't realize it would be this much of a hole in the wall. Doesn't really look open from the outside and very dimly lit on the inside. They had a Fantastic lunch special! 4 pieces of sushi, teriyaki chicken, fried rice, miso soup, and salad for about 8 bucks. Definitely beats stopping at a drive through and eating in the car

Hungry in Charlestown, Indiana? We were passing through and had to give this unassuming spot a try and were not disappointed!Once inside, staff was busy but very friendly and the dining room dark and chill. Meditative music played. Contemplative!We quickly ordered an appetizer, the Sexy Jalapeño - deep-fried with cream, spicy tuna and salmon. Mighty tasty!Rolls came next, the Hot Hot Roll and Superman Roll, both generous with satisfying fillings without using the heavy sauces most places douse their rolls in for decoration. Very nice!We left extremely glad we'd taken the chance on this place and made it home happy we'd tried Yamato. Give them a try!

I love the Hot Hot Roll from the sushi menu. The Hibachi steak is always on point and a family favorite! The kids love the different flavor sodas and we all love the Yum Yum sauce that comes with the salad. The service is always fast and polite. Orders To-Go seems to be what a lot of locals do here. We usually eat inside. There are always plenty of tables, the windows are blacked out with dark painted walls , but there's enough light inside. The TV's usually playing asian pop music videos. It's the only place my family regularly dines in Charlestown.

What a great addition to Charlestown! Basic but authentic interior, relaxing Japanese meditation music and nicer than expected seating and tables. TV I. The back is of tropical fish instead of sports or news.I had teriyaki chicken and fried rice. Just a tad too much salt for my tastes, most will not mind.Fried rice was great! Serveice friendly and extremely fast, again not what I would expect for this area. I'll be a regular for lunch if they keep this up, even if they were in Louisville.Sorry for the bad photos, my cell phone camera is broken and takes odd colored photos.

The outside looks completely run down and falling apart. Even the outside signs falling off. Wasn't even sure if it was even open with one car in the parking lot. Didn't even bother going in because it looked shut down. Says it was open though. So we left.

Food is great but the argument that broke out between the lady serving and the cook was unbelievable!! Customers were in the restaurant! Who spoke to the lady upfront and told her how uncomfortable she made everyone in the restaurant feel but she just walked off. She then scolded a customer for coming in late to pick up food he ordered online!! Very unprofessional
