Great experience at the woodland art fair. Tons of great food vendors (our favorite was the roasted corn on the cob and delta bbq). Had a lovely orange cream beer from country boy - can't wait to go to country boy and order it again! The art was beautiful, we can't wait to come again next year!

Love, love, love the Woodland Art Fair. It has really grown into a huge community event over the years. I appreciate how much the have developed the art fair to engage people of all ages and all walks of life. This fair is free and dog friendly. Many of the booths even have water for your dogs to rehydrate at.This art fair is more then just art. The food trucks there are some of the best. From Good Foods Co-op, Goodfellas Pizza, Crank and boom, jasmine rice, and even a few I had not heard of before. It was great to try food from all different places. The art is spectacular too. There is something for everyone at this fair. From hand made jewelry to before paintings and sculptures. Like I said before this fair is great for all ages. They really did a great job of setting up stages for kids to partake in art. The playground was the center of the fair, and there were plenty of areas for kids to make their own art. I really liked the free drawing area where anyone could sketch their own art when they walked in. It gave everyone entering the fair an artsy feel. Many people mentioned parking and they are right it can be a pain. However, my husband and I do not mind walking especially on pretty days so we chalk it up to part of the community experience. Parking shouldn't keep you from going!

The Good: a lot of different artists get to show off their unique work, food, beer. The Bad: only one live music sound stage, same old beer. The Rundown: this is an annual event right here just outside of downtown Lexington, KY. Local artists from around Kentucky and close by states bring their custom art to showcase and hopefully make a little money. Here you also have some local restaurants out cooking up some grub and local breweries to offer some tasty beer. Regarding the beer, and honestly the only reason I did not give this event 5 stars is the fact that yet again, an event wherein you have West 6th, Country Boy, and Alltec. There are more breweries than this in Kentucky and they are continually not represented at these events. Please give more offerings. Price tag wise you can expect to spend a pretty penny if you come here and are looking for some art. Again, this is one of a kind work but the vast majority comes with quite the price tag, being $400 and up. Now there are some smaller items but the majority is high end.The Impression: this is an event I will continue to come to as it is a fun family event wherein you can expect to find some really unique pieces of art. You can have some good food and local beer. This is a solid event but complacency is the only downfall.

For the first several years I was living in Lexington, I was never in town for the Woodland Art fair and didn't realize what I was missing. For the last three years, it has been my favorite thing to do in summer. I love arts and crafts and this place is definitely a feast for my eyes. So many beautiful and unique things to find. The nice thing is the layout of the vendors don't change much from year to year. So, I don't usually have a hard time finding a vendor if I remember roughly where they were located the previous year! I agree on the parking being an issue. Considering the location of the park, I'm not surprised. I don't mind parking a bit far and walking a little extra. With all the local food trucks and food vendors at the art fair, I would definitely need exercise to burn those calories!

Disclaimer: the only reason that I can't give this annual event a five star rate is because of the parking. Parking is so scarce all around the park, that I always end up having to park two miles or more away. If someone knows of a better way to park or of a secret parking lot, please feel free to message me ;) this year there was free parking in the Herald Leader lot and there was a shuttle but the lot was full by the time that I got there around noon on Saturday. But I finally found a curb side spot by the Herald Leader. The art is fantastic. I always cringe when it rains because I think about all, or even some of the art being ruined. Rain doesn't stop the fair though. This was the first year that I took advantage of the local beers (I'm usually not a beer drinker). All of our local breweries were there, except one. Hopefully next year Blue Stallion will be there too. The food: there were so many food truck pop ups on site that I wanted to try several, but because of the long lines, I stuck to one. Hopefully all of those people who got their first taste of the food truck scene will love it as much as I do and will continue to support these awesome local businesses. And you thought this review was going to be all about art?!

Bring your mud boots!! Vendors were friendly but it was hard to navigate through the mud. Weather is NOT a knock on the vendors or event itself.. just that the weather made this art fair a little less than appreciable. I bought some pieces from a local artist and wish I could've seen more! I DID NOT budget enough time for this fair!!

Lots of interesting things. Even if I don't buy, I like to look. Parking can be a bear, which is why I go EARLY, therefore, I never have a problem finding a space on one of the side streets. Also, it's easier to maneuver through the rows of artwork. A tip -- I'll take cards from vendors who have items I might be interested in, but might want to think about without pressure to purchase; a photo helps, too.

I've been for a few years and I've always had a good time. It's hard to find somewhere to park, but that's just the nature of the beast, I guess, and I could use some exercise sometimes. There are so many artists around that you most assuredly can find something that piques your interest. It's also good knowing that whatever you buy is going straight into their pocket and you are supporting the right people. There is also an incredible assortment of food and drink to keep you going for a whole day, including lots of local food trucks and breweries. It was nice seeing a local event where more than just a single brewery is represented. I look forward to going every year and always try to come home with one or two things that I really enjoy. The only downside is that it is usually during a super hot time of the year, so you have to prepare for the sun and sweat.
