My loot from my Winchester Farmers Market experience. Buy local. Ky Proud.
My haul
Reece Farms selling their awsome relishes and let you sample them as well.
Back Porch Hot Sauce table scape lets you know they are serious about heat.
Reece Farms also sells homemade Sausages, fresh pork chops, and bacon. I can't pass up a good pork product now. Shooo

When my parents moved to Winchester, I was a afraid that they wouldn't be able to find gems such as this in Winchester. Wrong. Winchester is full of gems, and this so happens to be one of them. I found it on Facebook and Mom and I headed over on a Saturday morning. I wish I hadn't went grocery shopping the night before because a lot of the items that I bought at the grocery were available here too. I guess that's the bad thing about coming to a Farmers Market on a spur of the moment. Note to self, make sure that I don't go grocery shopping before coming here. Items like cucumbers, green peppers, tomatoes, etc were all items that I spotted and would've snagged. Instead, I walked away with a few tomato plants. Yes, I know you're surprised... I'm growing tomatoes. The locals were socializing and I could totally sense that a lot people come here as a social thing in addition to scoring local homegrown goods.

I look forward to Saturday mornings when the market is open. Lots of good local food options. I love buying everything from corn and fruit to etched wine glasses and keychains. They do events such as the BBQ cook off. I highly recommend checking it out. You won't be disappointed.

Love this small outdoor market every Saturday. There's locally raised hormone free chicken, beef and lamb. They were cooking up lamb burgers yesterday made with lamb sausage. Yum! Bout some fresh eggs and beautiful sunflowers you can buy fresh duck eggs as well as chicken eggs. Different colored eggs come from different varieties of chickens. You learn things at the market as well. Wonderful fresh lettuce mix still available even in late July. And the tomatoes are ready now!

Stopped by the Winchester Farmers Market this morning. First time this summer. Some produce out but it is still early. The large amounts of produce will be out in a week or two. Purchased some homemade bread from Molly Stotts. Always delicious! Strolled on down to Staton farms and they had some locally grown tomatoes. So thankful for them.Had an opportunity to speak with former County Magistrate Billy Edwards. I was able to purchase some hand crafted tray and a walnut lazy Susan made by Billy. The tray reminded me of my great granny Cotton. Spoke with the Mayor while I was there.A visit to the Farmers Market is part social, part practical and part a trip down memory lane. I highly recommend a visit. It is located on the beautifully renovated Depot St. (Winchester's last brick road). A visit is a great fun and with everything produced locally it definately helps the home folks. Stop by and enjoy.

I love to shop local and buy local products as often as I can, that is why I love it when the Winchester Farmers Market is in season. I opted out of shopping at the big name box store today and bought everything local right here at the Farmers Market. All of these fine venders are KY Proud and some are even 100% Organic. Very impressive group of folks and so friendly. The new Winchester Farmers Market is located across from the parking lot of IGA in the heart of Winchester on Main Street just a little bit up from the Post Office. Here you can buy handmade baskets so you can carry all the items you purchase. They have locally made soaps, lotions and shampoo from The Soapery (www.mockingbirdsoapery.com).You can get fresh local produce or buy plants you can put in your own garden. The local green houses are well represented here such as Bushels & Pecks (859-771-5398), My Father's Garden ([email protected]), Beech Springs Garden Barn (http://www.beechspringsgardenbarn.com), and Sycamore Spring Farm just to name a few. If you are more interested in heat, Back Porch Hot Sauce (859-744-7606) can spice up any meal with their homemade sauces. Grab you a cup of coffee or ice brew from Creative Coffees (http://creativecoffees.com/) locally owned/operated and roasted just a mile or so up the street. If coffee isn't your thing, stop in and see Andy Hammon of Hamon Haven Winery (859-745-4161) I am sure his wines will be to your liking if you are 21 or older of course. There was also Reese Farms selling their tasty relishes that you can even sample. Reese Farms also had fresh sausage, bacon, and pork chops. Gosh I can't say no to a good pork product. YUMM!So if you are in the area on Saturday 8 - 12 or Tues 4 - 6 during season, stop on in adn see these fine folks. Support your local farmers and artisans. Make Kentucky Proud. We need more people like this to keep making this world a better place.

Very nice market on a Saturday morning. There were lots of tents; good selection of fresh produce; nice mix of flowers, baked goods, soaps, baskets & lots of smiling faces! The bonus grouping was a terrific set of bulbs & plantings if you're a glower person. Well worth the time each Saturday!
