Bonfire embers - time to 'sleep outside the box' and rise to new adventures
The restaurant sat 30-40 guests and was remembered for its curly fries:) It was a giftshop in recent decades- now under restoration
Cabin Court- Tourist Cabins- Teepees and some of the many plantings
Bonfire at night
Classic Neon sign- the 'bigwam' center building isn't an operating restaurant anymore- restoration is ongoing.
Still under restoration- big teepee was a lunch counter and gift shop, displaying the founder's diverse collection of Native artifacts.
Lots of fun playground gear for young kids- little merry go rounds, parallel bars, a wooden pirate ship, etc.
One of our cats on the prowl- she was intrigued by the owners' pets though she didn't get a chance to meet them
Wonderful quirky teepee room:) Sleeping 'outside the box'!
Teepee cabin- well-equipped and comfy, 1937-style:) No, it's not a wigwam, but like a wigwam it's more permanent than a real teepee
Cabin Court -Tourist Cabins -Teepees
Here is a two bed Teepee.
Charming single teepee. Made of concrete!

Absolute classic Americana:) The owners are wonderful hosts, helpful and accommodating. The cabins are clean and nicely restored with original furnishings plus ac, tv, coffee, etc. ACE Coffee in Cave City made a great start to the day. Evenings are special, with a bonfire where guests can meet and greet (s'mores sticks provided), and lots of room and classic playground equipment for kids to try out. Pets are welcome for a small fee- our cats enjoyed perching on the big 1937 radiator, judging me as I read the provided history of Mr. Redford's chain of seven teepee tourist courts built from 1937 to 1950. No. 2 is the earliest survivor and i've stayed at the other two on Route 66 (Holbrook, AZ and San Bernardino, CA). They are all well-kept and a great experience but No. 2 has a bit of an edge with a nice, semi-rural setting, all the attractions around Mammoth Caves, and Nashville only an hour and a half south.

5 stars for the outdoor fun and family friendly social atmosphere. Perfect evening around the campfire. Wigwams are quaint, clean, however, not very spacious (4 stars). Love the current efforts to bring #2 back to its original authentic self.

We always wanted to visit the Wig Wam village. So happy to meet Keith and hear about his and Megan's work to restore this landmark. We enjoyed our stay in number 11. The bed was comfy, it was very quiet at night. We enjoyed hanging out with other guests at the campfire. We will be back!

This was such a fun stay. I stayed from July 3-9 2022. The wigwams have air conditioning, cable, and most importantly- Wi-Fi. Each wigwam has its own parking space and Adirondack chairs for outdoor seating. I stayed a total of 6 nights. They don't have refrigerators so u need to bring your own cooler. They have a surprisingly good sized bathroom with a nice sized stand up shower. It's a park like setting, and has a nice playground for kids. They have nightly bonfires. I was unable to attend any of the bonfires because I was so exhausted from all my travels throughout the day. The new owners are completely renovating the wigwams to their original state back when they were built in 1937. They are stripping the stucco off- waterproofing them and replacing the stucco. They have the original furniture from 1937. If u have forgotten anything, there is a Dollar General across the street. I highly recommend doing the check in with the history of the place. There is a book in every wigwam that discusses the history as well. I def recommend staying in this little piece of history. I look forward to future visits.

What a cool place to stay. Clean rooms , comfortable and really nice atmosphere. Owners are very nice and knowledgeable. There is two choices of check ins , one is the regular check in and the other is the historic check in. Historic check in is worth it and you get to hear history of the Wigwam Village no.2 history. There are chairs for each Teepee to sit outside and every night there is a bonfire. Bring marshmallows

How cool is that huh. It's one of the only 2 remaining in the country. Tons of history here and ya there small and dated but hey it's a national treasure in my eyes. Super nice people running the place too. Bathrooms could use a little updating but it's still a cool place to stop @

If you want a throw back into a time where road trips and life were much simpler, this is the place.Built in 1937, this place is awesome. Keith, who is one of the owners, could not be more helpful. He knows all the details of this incredible property. Our room was cozy and clean.Needless to say, we will be back!Mike & Brenda

What a fabulous piece of Americana and Kentucky Roadside Tourism. Really enjoyed the stay...such a shame that Russell character destroyed the mountain attraction, but the Wigwam #2 is on it!!!!!!! Just now noticed the website and going to order some souvenirs!!!!!!

Fun atmosphere, especially for families with young children. New owners friendly and welcoming. We had a single. Shower was a bit grungy but the rest of our wigwam was spotless. Bed comfy but very narrow for 2 adults. A small "full size". Remote to TV didn't work but that was ok for us. Room temp was set on 62 and there was no way to warm it up. Lovely play area for kids under age 8 or so with nice fire pit. Grass very long and needed trimming and upkeep. Wigwam by train track which had trains blowing their horns all night. It probably wouldn't have been noticed if the the AC fan were on, but it was so cold and that it was off. Definitely would stay again though with my grandkids for the atmosphere! This was my second stay in 25 years!!
