A nice campground with great owners. On the rustic side but great size campsites. Our site was in the trees area. Huge! The owner has been by a couple of times to make sure we're doing ok. They even brought us home grown tomatoes! If you get the chance to go into the office, be sure to ask about the championship mules they used to raise! This isn't the Ritz but we thought it was a great place to stay for two weeks while we explored the area! We'll be back and hope if you stay, you'll have as good as experience as we did!The campground is quiet, friendly and lay back. We didn't use the bathroom or showers so I can't comment. The playground is simple and dated. The grounds are near a lake. We saw several fireflies in the evening and heard the crickets along with the cicadas... they sell firewood at no profit to help support Future Farmers of America. The location is awesome! Bardstown is minutes away and packed with bourbon distilleries, restaurants and shopping. Louisville is 45 minutes away but doable for day trips and sightseeing. We visited two great restaurants in town. The Talbot Tavern is the oldest bourbon bar around and Had great food. We fell in love with Mammy's! Stevie, the owner's son was a kick! Beyond the food, they have a great bar and music! Locally, you have to attend The Steven Foster Story! Great show and interesting story for the community. Museum Row is minutes away and an incredible find for this area. They have a Civil War, War History, Women in the Civil War and a huge Pioneer Village, filled with log cabins collected from this area dating from 1700's-1800's. Louisville was great to visit the Louisville Slugger Factory and we did a sunset cruise on a paddle boat river tour on the Ohio River. Churchill Downs is right there too but we didn't visit.

This place is centrally located for Bardstown but for $50+ (w/a good Sam discount) I do not think we will return. The sites were gravel and not level. Lots of ant hills, mole hills on our site. The office is old and unkept. We made reservations a few months before arriving but they couldn't locate it. It's a old run down campground in the country. They need major improvements before we ever return.

Bardstown is my favorite place to camp in Kentucky, so when found another campground here, I was a happier camper. This is an independently owned campground, owned by the White family. It's not as centrally located as My Old Kentucky Home campground is, but it's only about three miles from downtown Bardstown. When we arrived on Friday evening, the campground wasn't difficult to spot. There's a lit up commercial like sign, right where you turn in. The check-in office is in a trailer. The site rate as of 10/7 is $30 a night, which a pretty good deal since that includes electric, water and sewer hookups. Mr. White showed us to our site #4, which was close to the playground. Although the surrounding sites did have picnic tables, this site didn't. I would've much rather have a site further back, near the trees. I didn't question him though. He instructed us to pull through the field and into the narrow gravel site. It was a bit unlevel, but he guided us to a spot on the site that was most level. In addition to the picnic table, we didn't have a fire pit. Actually, none of the sites had fire pits. They do allow you to pitch a fire on the gravel, but that worried me because it was so close to the RV. We knew this ahead of time, so we brought our portable one, from our backyard. I wouldn't recommend this campground for tent camping or anyone whose camper doesn't have a functional bathroom. They do have a bathhouse here. It's in a barn, or what used to be a barn. It's sort of far from even the closest sites and isn't lit up at night. Honestly four stars are generous, but I love Bardstown, appreciated the hospitality and the full hookups are a plus too. Oh, and they have a few makeshift cabins that they currently rent for $35.

I stayed here in a motorhome beginning of April 2019. Allen and his wife are managers and they are fantastic. Very accommodating. He wife was kind enough to walk our friend's dog when we were gone all day. Some of the sites are not level however it is a very natural environment that edges a huge lake so I don't know if that can be remedied without losing the nice landscape. I was not able to use the bathhouse so I cannot comment as they were renovating it. Cant beat the location for visiting distilleries. I would stay again if in the area.

Where to begin? My mom and I were seasonal Amazon associates and this was the park they chose for us. What a horrible experience. Place is a mud pit with unlevel sites, overflowing dumpster, and the most revolting "bathhouse" I've ever seen in my life. Backed up sewage was a common occurrence. The owner is rude, obnoxious, and, by consensus, an all around woman hater. It's too bad because Bardstown is a lovely little town to visit. Save your money and camp at Walmart...better facilities.

Very nice campground in the center of the bourbon trail. We especially liked the unique campsite layout. We were traveling with friends and were able to have our campers face each other. Our sites were level and had a lot of shade. Management was very friendly and gave a lot of suggestions for exploring.

The manager was very nice and helpful. We felt safe in the campground. It has a convenient location to Bardstown attractions. It has full hookups and bath house with hot water. However, for the price, we didn't expect unheated shower rooms, only 50 amp connections (but manager did lend us an adapter) and inconvenient, very rudimentary bathrooms.
