Visited Saturday night for carryout of a few pies. Nice little cocktail bar up front. Order the carryout and had a few drinks while we waited. Nice beer and bourbon selection along with some custom crafted cocktails. Ashley our bartender was friendly, informative and gave us great service. The pies were fantastic. We ordered both a New Haven and a NY style, they use the little cupped pepperonis and sauce delicious as well. Both pies score 8.3. Lively dinning area next to an open kitchen where the magic happens. Definitely will revisit this spot !

My Husband has been dying to try this place so I suggested it on Friday when we decided we didn't want to do anything crazy for Valentine's Day this year. When we arrived we were only quoted a 30-40 minute wait which was surprising for how busy it was so we walked over to the bar to get a drink. After standing there for a few minutes we got lucky and 2 seats opened up so we grabbed them. Considering how busy it was we weren't greeted immediately but once we were we received exceptional service. I started with the espresso martini, which was hands down the best cocktail I've EVER had!! Before you say, "Okay, yeah right", you have to understand it's not your normal espresso martini, yes there is your traditional vodka and cold brew liquor but what sets this one apart is the cacao Carajillo whip and black truffle saline. It's like sipping sophistication, through a cloud of marshmallow fluff. I have dreamed about it ever since. My husband just grabbed a beer on tap. The menu is small, but has a lot of unique options. There were several pizzas that intrigued us but we opted to stay safe for our first visit and got the Ny Slice Style Pie and added pepperoni and fennel sausage which was packed full of flavor. The pepperonis were small and curled up which I love bc it's makes the edges crispy and the sausage was a little spicy. I will say their style of pizza is a little more well done than I prefer however my husband absolutely loved it. One of the bartenders noticed I wasn't eating the crust and asked if everything was OK and I explained what I mentioned above. She asked if I would like a new pizza and I said absolutely not. I explained I had seen multiple reviews as well as videos of the pizza and knew what to expect. She did mention that you can ask do you have the pizza less well done so I will do that next time and my husband can just get his own pizza lol I definitely can't wait to go back and give this place another try as well as try something different on the menu.

A top-quality entry into the rather robust Louisville pizza scene...with some quality cocktails that easily hold their own as a lure alongside some tasty pizza.Good variety of pizzas, quality toppings, nice charred and chewy crust. Some tasty sides too (loved the meatballs).Cocktails are amazing...and there are some especially unique entries, such as the espresso martini topped with Parmesan. Yes, that's real. I'll admit...I'm glad I tried it, but am not sure the salty-sweet-chocolatey combo is one I'll add to my regular list...others disagreed and seemed more in the "I'll have another" mentality. Worth a try at the least!Service is friendly and helpful, but it gets really crowded, and they can get stretched a little thin. Not a critique at all, but I know some are needier than others, so I note that this is not a place you're likely to be checked on every two minutes...but you will also be able to order a round or two, it's not slow.Good space. Relaxed. I really like the small bar area, but there are tables too of course. It will get crowded, and you will likely have a wait (and unless there's room in the bar, there's not much standing room to wait). So, just time your visit or be willing to enjoy a nice drink by the front door while you await your table.

Met a friend here for dinner on a Friday night. Thankfully we came early & were seated on arrival. When we left there was quiet the line & waitlist for seating. I loved that Wheated kept some of the original home detail when renovating the space. My husband and I enjoyed the old fashioned cocktail. We ordered the Caesar salad & a pizza to split. The Caesar salad was the star of the show with all that cheese! Our pizza came hot out of the oven. The crust was cooked to perfection & the taste did not disappoint. Our service was excellent. Clean bathroom. Thank you Wheated staff for a great dinner! Can not wait to return

Had an incredible time when we came to Wheated. The pizza was fantastic and we can't wait to come back and try more. We arrived just as they opened and just barely got a table with no wait so definitely come early! We tried the meatballs which were incredible and we also tried some cocktails! The espresso martini was very sweet but getting Parmesan cheese on top was the perfect salty sweet combo!

Went on a Friday night at 545 and didn't have a wait. (When we left around 7 there were a lot of folks waiting for a table.) Spacer is smaller but they fit quite a few tables within the building (and they have seating upstairs). Friendly and efficient staff throughout the night. Ordered the Caesar salad and Sunset Pizza. Enjoyed both. Salad was $14 and pizzas around $24-31.

What drew us in to try Wheated is probably what gets most people in the door, and is by itself a good enough reason. It's an authentic Brooklyn pie that does not disappoint. On our first visit here, we were seated next to a table of 6 grey-haired women, and every one of them ordered their own pie, so they would not have to share and they would all have something to take home. They were licking their own fingers and taking photos -- it was a delight. But I want to hype the salads and our meatball appetizer. We ordered a simple mixed green salad with green apple and walnuts, and it was beautifully done, and large enough to split. The meatball was wonderful too. We saw others getting different salads, and all of them looked equally good. The salad, of course, is a nice counterbalance for the pizza, while the meatball is egregious (especially at a table of two people), but some days are occasions, right?I will say, however, that I don't quite buy into the cocktail push here. I know that Louisville is a cocktail town, and generally I'm on board. But I don't think I'm alone in the thought that pizza calls for beer or maybe a Coke. Michael did order a cocktail, and it was good. But I noticed that while we were eating, that cocktail was sitting on the sidelines waiting for its turn. I would have enjoyed seeing some better beer options, but honestly, it didn't matter -- I was here for the food.

Holy hell! Louisville are FINALLY has legit NYC pizza. This stuff is incredible and is exactly like all the best pies I've ever encountered in the Big Apple. The pizza is *perfectly* charred (not burnt, charred) and the sauce is so deliciously sweet. The toppings we had (8 year old with us - picky) were great quality as well. The salad was a last second add on and glad we did that. Was great to share between the three of us. We were in and out quickly with some great service. I don't think the table next to us was as fortunate unless they were being very casual and taking a while to order, BUT - growing pains. The food was great and we had the server and a manager both check in to make sure everything was good. In addition to the tremendous pizza, the Manhattan was the best one of those that I've ever had as well. Can't wait to go back.

The restaurant is beautiful. Great renovation done to the place. Looks nothing like a skate shop (used to be one). The outdoor patio looks lovely. Summer sunsets could be a challenge, but it would be great in cooler months. They have about 6 or so barstools at the bar. Bar was nice (it had an actual metal bar for feet, which I prefer as a shorter person). Stools were a little close together for me. Not a large bar; probably meant to be there for those waiting on a table (don't think a Norm from Cheers would hang out there). We ate at the bar, which was fine. We had a 16" pizza, so there was room for that.Pizza was great, well cooked. Crispy crust, not chewy. We are vegetarian and got the Prospect Park South.Service was quick and attentive. Friendly bartenders. Bathrooms were gender-specific, not gender-neutral, in a small hallway. I didn't have to wait, but I imagine a line could form on a busier night. Bathrooms are next to the kitchen/expo station.Limited menu at this point but was told they plan to grow slowly (makes sense).Small parking lot in the back that is shared with another restaurant. Parking is sometimes challenging in the Highlands.Price point is higher than other places nearby (~$30 pizzas). Seems like a nice date night spot. Cool ambiance. If I were asked to offer small suggestions for improvement: I would recommend having recyclable bar mat/coasters at the bar, offering different size pizzas, and a larger bourbon selection. There are a lot of steps in front of the place on Bardstown Road, but they may have better access through the back.
