Went to the new location in downtown Jeffersonville at 300 Spring Street for a 6 PM session on a Saturday for $36. This is my first time doing a "sip and paint" and I really enjoyed it and would repeat in the future. They have discounted session prices on Tuesdays. The new location has only been open for a week and would be a great idea for the holidays as a place to gather for a fun time or also as a gift idea for even the non-artist in your life. Plenty of free public parking located across the street as well as behind the building. Enter through the glass doors and travel down the stairs to a welcoming art space in the basement. The instructor greeted us and directed us to pick out our paints, protective aprons, and brushes and we chose our easel stations. They also sell wine and beer and snacks and frequent take breaks as needed during the evening to accommodate refreshment and stretching your legs after sitting for an hour. I chose a $6 glass of Cabernet and the entire paint session is typically 2-1/2 to 3 hours long. I also purchased a really cute t-shirt for $15, which supposedly can be custom ordered in various colors, sizes, and multiple designs. An inspiration picture is displayed at the front of the classroom and the instructor provides step-by-step instructions to replicate the image. Our instructor was Moira for this particular project, and she was very helpful in providing individual assistance as needed or requested. Her expertise was very helpful! As you can see from my impressionistic version of the original piece, art is in the eye of the beholder! I had fun, which was my main objective here.

I enjoyed my painting class last week. A friend and I signed up for the Van Gogh almond blossom class. The facility is nice, easy to find and park. It was set up nicely and they accommodated my seating request. There are alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages for sale at very reasonable prices and snacks and small gifts for sale. There was a great selection of beverages even! The class was well paced and questions were allowed and even encouraged. Staff was friendly and nice to interact with.

My dog Fermie and I attended the Paw print art activity hosted by Viva art at Monnick in New Albany, IN yesterday! It was very enjoyable to do something like this with my fur baby. The ladies that assisted were very friendly and helpful. It was a well organized and laid back event considering there were dogs involved and the beer garden isn't enclosed. Hopefully they host more events like this!

They have just moved into their new location in the basement of 300 Spring, in charming Jeffersonville. We had a fun class with about 8 people and our instructor was great! We all learned so much, including how to mix colors and blend on a canvas. We had all skill levels and everyone did great. Mid-way they we had a break and I tied out a glass of Old Bastard Pinot Noir! It matched perfectly with my Hershey bar! Will definitely be back for more!

I brought my grandchildren in for a class today. I was hoping to come to future classes with them, but I will not be doing that, for two reasons. First, the teacher seemed very irritated, & grumpy. She barked out instructions, military style, & acted irritated when she had to repeat anything. This was a children's class & should have been fun & upbeat but it was not a great atmosphere. Secondly, as my grandchildren & I, were looking at the pictures on the wall, we saw a promotion for "Painting with a drag queen". That is something that I was not comfortable with my grandchildren seeing & it's definitely not something that I will endorse. I left wishing that I had not given this establishment any of my money & I absolutely won't do it again.
