This is a cute little wine bar I. The neighborhood we live in. Decent selection of wines, good people to talk with, comfortable seating, what else could you want. Best I can describe it is, imagine your living room with some people over for wine! How nice!

My boyfriend and I tried Vines awhile ago after we kept seeing it pop up on Instagram. It's been a favorite spot for us. The inside has cozy seating, and the outside patio has lots of shade cover. My favorite drink is the Kentucky violet, but the old fashioned is pretty dang good too. The owner, Logan, is very friendly and personable and seems to enjoy making connections with customers. There's also a little bookshelf of games and cards you can play. And they're dog friendly, no matter how much our dog farts. Great place great drinks. Probably not ideal for very large groups but it's perfect for a date night or girls night.

Pre-lockdown review.I have no idea if this is the correct listing. I tried to check and see which biz listing made the most sense re my experience and there were two to choose from. Oh, Yelp. In any event, this is the wine bar (store) on Douglass. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about even if the platform is a bit confused. It was a late-fall Thursday when a friend and I decided to catch up over a glass of wine. It had been a minute since I spent time in this part of town and was dubious about reports of a parking lot. I arrived early to park on the street (not at a meter) and made my way inside. I arrived just as the bar was opening and made some small talk with the barkeep. I claimed a table and made my way through the space -- looking at bottles and admiring the collection. My friend arrived and I sat her at our table.* Walking up to the bar area, I noticed the prices (high) and selection (curated and not very big). Taking my friend's lead, I opted for a syrah and kept it moving. The pour was generous (appreciated), the wine was dry with a surprising floral forwardness and the glass was impressive (I have a thing for glassware). We brought our wine back to the table** and commenced to catching up. I found myself very taken with the vibe of the bar. The tables are hidden throughout the space which lends to privacy and with every table surrounded by different bottles, it adds to a unique experience no matter where you sit. I liked it.*** *Despite having a jacket and bag (sans expensive items in it), a woman tried to lay claim to the table. I know I've been gone a while but I'm pretty sure I'd left the universal sign for 'people are sitting here.' **There may have been a side-eye exchange.***I understand that the space may have changed in the [admittedly considerable] time it's been since I visited so ymmv. Plus, I was not there when there were dogs in tow. I didn't know this was a dog-friendly bar. I like my friend's dogs. Strange dogs... not so much. I don't know that I'd enjoy drinking around them. Again, ymmv.

I love this little shop! It has such charm! It may seem small, but really that's an illusion because once youre inside there are so many pockets of places for you to sit and mingle! Logan is great, he is knowledgeable of all (it seems). If you want an expert opinion with great customer service go to him! They are a mostly a wine shop yes, but they also have a great bourbon collection. You can have just about any cocktail made for you at their bar. Also their corkage fee is competitively priced. If youre in the neighborhood, be sure to check them out!Oh and they are very dog friendly!

I had the cab sauv and my husband had a Chardonnay. The atmosphere was great and the bartender was helpful, knowledgeable, and we were very impressed how she was able to remember what we ordered the next time we came in! They also have games and outdoor seating

I love coming to Vines.I've been here 4 or 5 times, and they have all been tied to a wine or bourbon pairing event. And they have all been great. My first time there was for a girl scout cookie and wine pairing. The pairing was great and you could tell that a lot of effort was put into finding real matches to the cookies. Every other pairing has been just as good. The atmosphere is one of the best. Very casual and laid back, lots of dim lighting and comfy chairs/sofas. Pets encouraged - so there's always one to pet.The staff is super friendly and takes the time to really talk to you, and make sure to give you specific and typically spot on recommendations.

Wine bottles are reasonably priced and the patio is great for hanging out with friends. A solid place for wine Wednesday or girls night. Owner or manager was very friendly and helpful with choosing a wine and he did not push me towards expensive bottles, which I appreciated. In fact the first wine he suggested to me was only $10 for a bottle and it tasted great.
