We tried this place on a Monday evening. The happy hour special on Monday was $5 small house margs - a great deal! Food was delicious! Some of the best I have had in the cincinnati area. The bartender seemed like he didn't want to be there so his attitude lost a star for me. Ambiance was great! They had good music playing and the place felt lively. I would dine here again. Also, come HUNGRY because this place will FEED you for sure.

I came here because of the positive reviews, and did find a pleasant, active, popular setting with friendly servers. It was decorated well, and was fairly large, bright, and pleasant inside. It seemed a little noisy, due to the large number of customers, and the tables seemed a little close together. As for the food: I ordered camarones al mojo de ago with corn tortillas, a beef tostada and the paella Mexicana. The portions were very plentiful, but the quality of the food seemed just okay. It was decent, but didn't seem that authentic or unique. All in all, it seemed like a Mexican version of a chain restaurant, like, say a Mexican Friendly's or TGI Fridays -- good service, pleasant atmosphere, great capacity, but unremarkable food.

This place took over the old Perkins building a few years ago and it is excellent! If they are busy(and that happens) you may wait a bit for a table and for your food. I will say that the alcohol order showed up really fast and that indicates solid intelligence at this location! The food is really good, very flavorful and the portions are reasonable. Prices are good and parking is plentiful! Give this place a shot and decide for yourself, I'm a frequent flyer there!

Don't be put off by Valle Escondido's unassuming exterior. They are located in a small strip mall. They have a fairly large inside seating area and a small outdoor patio with a pretty fountain. We started with drinks and chips with guacamole and queso. They make your guacamole fresh and table side. You can choose if you want jalapeño peppers added or not. It is delicious guacamole. The queso is also really good- my nephew absolutely loved it. My husband ordered the burrito ranchero and he really enjoyed it. My mom and I split a pick three combo. We chose a ground beef burrito, a cheese enchilada, and a chicken quesadilla. It also came with refried beans and rice. This was the perfect combination and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We tried the banana chimichanga and it was amazing!! I would definitely recommend trying it!
