Part of a string of separately named parks with intertwined development. This one is a bit farther from the highway than Beckley Creek, but offers dynamic scenery, with a "sky meadow" that lives up to the name and an old silo made into an observation tower. Like everything at these parks, the tower is open to the public and free, without any hassles. The water pressure at some of the fountains was a little weak, but overall the presence of free and clean facilities is an asset to anyone in the greater Lousiville area, as so much of Kentucky is either pretty but not open to the public or open but without any manmade improvements.

Very large and scenic park that is attached to the parklands park system in the Louisville area. The entrance of this park starts at the rear end of broad run park. Like broad run turkey run does offer very cool walking trails and breathtaking views. While they don't have a splash ground or traditional playground like broad run they do have a great area to relax in front of the brown foreman silo. Which is a unique attraction itself as you can climb up there and take in all the views from high above. Like most parks and things to do in the parklands park system you can't really go wrong with whatever you choose to do. Loads of family fun to be had.

Spent another "Saturday in the park" no it wasn't the Fourth of July it was a warm winters day to venture from the indoors to enjoy the sunshine on a warm afternoon. This time we stayed on higher grounds. The park was beautiful even after the unusual winter flood of 2018. I have to say this park offers vantage points to see wild turkeys and many dear daily. There is three separate parks all attached by one single road. The roads of the park are freshly paved.

Turkey Run Park is yet another installation of the Parklands. It is definitely one of the more 'secluded,' as there aren't as many highways or anything else in sight. Don't be fooled by that though, because this park does get really crowded. If you were hoping for quiet and to be alone, you may want to reconsider. There are multiple activities that can be done here: Walking, running, cycling, hiking, kayaking.... You can't be bored here. There is a parking lot with a giant map as well. I hiked one of the trails and it was beautiful and well-blazed. Right by the creek, so there was a lot to see. Turkey Run is a great outdoors option for those in the Southern end of Louisville.

Personally this park is my favorite of all of the parks in the Parklands. I've been here many times and this park has it all for adventure. Events: A great open space to host events. They have a newly remodeled barn called the Hockensmith Barn, with ceiling fans that is available to rent for parties, weddings, or family reunions. This barn was built in traditional Amish style to reflect on the old tobacco barn that once stood in its place. Great rustic look and feel to the barn. The open field is also nice to grab your friends, kids, or significant other and come have a picnic or play some frisbee. There are public bathrooms, water fountains available, and shades picnic tables. Dogs are welcome too :) There is an old pig barn that is remodeled and labeled as the Pignic Barn (I love puns so was throughly amused!) that has lots of shaded picnic tables. It's also close to a small pond and if you're lucky you can hear the frogs sing their pond song while eating.Adventure: Let's not forget the giant yellow Brown-Foreman Silo that is actually usable. If you don't mind stairs (always my weakness), climb up these 109 steps to the top and you are treated with a magnificent 360 degree view of Turkey Run Park! The park also hosts different events such as meteor shower watching where they keep the park open past hours so you can come gaze at the shooting stars. I did this and it was a fantastic experience: all of the red and green shooting stars, it was amazing how much you could see with limited city lights. Just remember to bring some bug spray for these types of events. There is no paddling access points except in the Seaton Valley location. UPDATE: Bike trail center is completed! In Progress: Although not quite finished, they are currently doing construction for a Mountain Bike Ride center. These means lots of dirt and lots of hills! If you take the small trail to the overlook you might be a bit confused at the sudden stop of the paved trail. It's not your typical overlook but the future sight of the Catenary Bridge. If you're willing, continue the small dirt trail past the end of the overlook and wind down until you reach the creek. You will have a great view of what's to come once they put in the bridge. It's steep so be careful. Nature: The trails. If you are serious about some trails and open nature this is your spot. The Paw Paw Trail is an easy soft trail but a 2.3 mile trek through the woods that connects to the Sky Dome (a gorgeous open field). You might even be able to spot a few Paw Paw trees or catch a fleeting glimpse of the butterflies that flock to these fruits of the tree. There is also the Chinkapin Trail that is a more difficult trail that is accessible from the Paw Paw Trail. It's a 2.2 mile loop that crosses Turkey Run. Bring water. The Wild Hyacinth Trail that is accessible for the Paw Paw Trail will lead you to the Ben Stout House. Here you can connect with another easy trail called Boone Bottoms Trail that's 1.2 mile loop. Last but not least is the Louisville Loop. You can access this to connect to any of the other parks in the Parklands or if you are more comfortable on a paved trail. If you love exploring, adventure, and nature then these interconnecting trails will fill your day quickly. This park sits high so there are lots of landscape views. Definitely a park that has something for everyone and keeps my interest in the outdoors way up! Even though I've visited many times I feel like there's always something new to see.

It's a nice park and a good addition to the Parklands.I am not sure if it is completely finished yet....the path we were walking ended abruptly. But what is here is well maintained and well marked. We got here by walking over from Broad Run Park, the two are connected by the Louisville Loop.

Turkey Run Park at The Parklands of Floyds Fork is awesome! We visit this area often, and we always have a great time. There are miles of trails for hiking and biking, you can access the creek for kayaking, or you can visit the Brown-Forman Silo Center to take in the views. All of The Parklands are great, but I particularly love this area. It's absolutely beautiful, and there's so much to do. Plus, it's easy to customize your trip here however you like, you can spend as much or as little time as you'd like, based on how much you want to do. If you're looking for a fun spot to spend some time outdoors, you should definitely check out Turkey Run Park!

All of the parks on the Louisville Loop seem great, I'm a cyclist and it's nice to be scheduled to get some miles in without dealing with angry drivers. That being said, there are a plethora of large groups, dog walkers, baby strollers etc to dodge. Even though there are a multitude of signs that say walk on the right, pass on the left, ppl don't pay attention and seem confused when you say "on your left". Take your time and be prepared to stop and you'll be fine. I wanted something more challenging than the Beckley Park portion and Turkey run fits the bill! Lots of switchbacks and elevation changes, definitely had to use the low gears A LOT!. I still need to try some of the hiking trails. It is disappointing that the free park maps don't list the trails. You have to go the website to get those, and scrolling on your phone isn't the best way to plan, hopefully in the future they will produce detailed maps. Lots of parking, bike repair stations, water stops and rest areas. Note that for Covid-19 all restrooms, playgrounds and the silo are closed. I'll definitely be back though n

The Mister and I ventured to Turkey Run this weekend. The park is easy to find and parking is paved and plentiful. There was a building with restrooms and maps of the park where we parked. As with all of the Parkland parks, the Louisville Loop runs through the park. Because it is winter and we have had some periods of rain recently, the few non-paved trails were a muddy wreck. We did walk the paved trail to the Sky Dome and found it to be anticlimactic. There is no 'gorgeous view' or anything, just a small field. I think to give the park due diligence, I will need to try again in the spring/summer. However, I did find the area to be a not very challenging walk/hike, which will not change. Beware of cyclist when you are walking, they FLY and apparently feel as though the trail is just for them. I was almost mown down twice (and yes, I was walking far on the right side of the trail) as many cyclists feel the need to ride side-by-side with a friend instead of single file! The biggest problem I encountered however, was dog owners!! It seemed every person walking had 1 or 2 LARGE dogs and I watched no fewer than 6 people allow their dog to crap a LARGE pile and just walk away. That being said, I did not see bag stations or receptacles along the trail, even if the owners had picked up the crap. All-in-all, from what I experienced on this visit, I would likely not return.
