TownePlace Suites by Marriott - Richmond

We stopped here on our way to Ohio and were pleasantly surprised. It was very spacious and clean and comfortable. It had a nice free breakfast in the morning. We tried to book it again on the way back home, but it was not available. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

TownePlace Suites in Richmond, Kentucky has been open for business since about August of 2017, but still looks fairly new. THE EXPERIENCEWe arrived on the 4th of July, 2023 to a flurry of fireworks coming from multiple sources both nearby and in the distance. The room itself was typical in size, but modern and attractive. The pillows were king-sized which we greatly appreciated, and varied in firmness which we also appreciated because I like softer pillows while my wife likes firmer ones. We also find it charming how Marriott hotels welcome you with your name on the TV screen when you first arrive.Our hotel room was equipped with a small kitchen that included lots of cabinets, dishware, cookware, a dish washer, generous-sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and 2 burner electric stove top. The quartz countertops transitioned into a large desk area with a lamp, overhead lighting, shelves, pull-out laptop stand and nice modern seating. Our mattress and bedding were very comfortable and the a/c was practically arctic! The bathroom was ROOMY and the shower featured a floor to ceiling glass enclosure, shower controls at the entry opposite the shower head and great smelling body wash!!!The front of the hotel housed a communal patio with a fire pit that several guests were enjoying when we arrived. There is an indoor pool, laundry facility, gym, outdoor grilling area and complimentary hot breakfast.The location is excellent, especially when on a road trip. When you zoom out on google maps you see the hotel is mostly surrounded by Kentucky countryside, but the area the hotel rests has been nicely developed with shopping, restaurants and several other hotel chains. Immediately across from the hotel is a Texas Roundhouse, sports bar and bowling alley. A short walk or 15 second drive will also net you a Starbucks, Panda Express, Burger King, Steak n' Shake or Golden Coral Buffet. FINAL THOUGHTSRoad-trips hearken back to special childhood memories for me and it is always nice to find good lodging in a safe area with nearby conveniences. For just a quick overnight stay, TownePlace Suites Richmond fit our needs perfectly! 2023 / 14

This was my second stay at this Marriott and both times were equally enjoyable. The rooms were neat and clean and the staff was nice and friendly each time. During my second stay the noise from I-75 caused me some trouble falling asleep so the next day I went to the front desk and let them know of my concern and they immediately switched me to the other side of the hotel, opposite the interstate. This side of the hotel was quieter and I slept soundly. Breakfast in the morning is good and in my opinion a bit better than the normal continental breakfast that most hotels serve. There is also a fire pit and a grill in front that's available for use if you're planning on a stay where you would like to cook out. It's also close to Texas Roadhouse and many other restaurants if that's more to your liking.

Great service! Hotel was very clean people were very nice. Stayed a week for work and room was cleaned every other day which they did a very nice job. The only complaint would be the food. The person serving the food was very nice but same food everyday. They had pot of rice which I didn't understand why that was put out for breakfast found that kinda weird. Having a variety every other day would have been nice. All and all I would return . A+

The inside of the hotel was clean and up to date. We stayed in room 401. The room was very spacious, clean and up to date. There is a full size fridge as well as a small kitchen. The hotel is located close to the freeway. It is easy to get to. However, this is the only negative I have with this hotel. Since the hotel is so close to the freeway, you could hear the traffic passing. Especially when a truck drives on the rumble strips.

As of the date of this posting, this TPS was relatively new and it showed. Everything appeared in good working order. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Very attentive as well. One of the front desk agents noticed the make of the car we drove. When a set of keys with car key of the same make, asked if we were missing a set of keys. We didn't know it, but we were. We travel with pets and there is plenty of areas to walk them. It's also conveniently located close a number of sit down restaurants as well as fast food. There's a shopping close enough to walk if you want. Like most TPS there is a lite complimentary breakfast. The rooms come complete with stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, sink, and dish ware. The bed was comfortable and our room had a couch with a pull out bed which was surprisingly comfortable as well. A couple of down sides come in the design. The stove hood extends well past the two burner stove and over the sink. If you aren't paying careful attention (which I wasn't) you will get the stainless steel corner in the forehead. Twice. Ouch! Also, the toilets are very low and cheaply made. If you overlook that, it's a nice place to stay.

Dates of stay: 4/2 & 4/9 (two stays, one night each)We stayed at this hotel on our way from GA to MI, and we also stayed on our way back, about a week later. We had two rooms each time. So this review reflects all 4 room experiences.Punchline - Overall it was a clean, quiet, & comfortable hotel with easy access to 75. This will likely be our "go-to" hotel each time we make a trip up north.Pros:Price is a little lower than other hotels in the Marriott family of brands near Lexington, and access to 75 is excellent.It is clean and quiet, I did not see anything gross or sketchy, and even being on a middle floor I did not hear hallway noise or footsteps from the floor above. And, it was at capacity (full) each stay. It felt pretty fresh and new. I'm not sure when it was built, but it felt modern and well maintained.There are restaurants that you can walk to nearby, if you are traveling and just want to grab something to eat without driving somewhere or ordering delivery. The Texas Roadhouse (2 min walk) was great for a carry out.There is a breakfast included with your stay, it's a self-serve deal. It was well stocked and the woman stocking it and keeping it clean was AWESOME! She gave my husband a carry out container so that he could bring breakfast back to the room. She was just so pleasant.Desk staff was friendly and professional, we checked in after midnight on our first stay, and the gentleman was perky and friendly.Cons:Minimal! The temperature regulation in one of the rooms on the second stay was a little tricky, so I will mention that on our next visit.

Came in tonight after driving all day just needing a place to lay my head. I encountered Rich when I arrived and he is the friendliest, and nicest person I have met recently at a hotel! As a travel nurse I encounter many people and sleep at many hotels and I was very pleased when I walked in and the courtesy I received! The hotel room is very nice and clean too! I will definitely be back if I'm in Richmond again!

Without a doubt, the nicest property in Richmond. Rooms are always very clean and the staff is extremely friendly. Nice hot breakfast on the morning. Pet friendly. Also has a nice fitness center and swimming pool. Pool has a handicapped lift if needed. 2 Tesla charging stations for guests. You will not be disappointed staying here!

I regret staying here. Bed was quite uncomfortable making for a restless night for both of us. Very expensive. The room was very clean, the hotel property nice with many amenities, and the staff friendly but all of that is for naught if the bed is subpar.
