Tokyo is a Japanese style restaurant. I stopped in for lunch today and had the pan fried Goyoza (dumplings) and a lunch portion of Hibachi Beef and Chicken. The food was ready quickly and on my table within five minutes. The taste was OK but not the usual zip of many teriyaki and hibachi dishes in my experience. The goyoza were not pan fried, but deep fried. They missed the usual flavor the pan frying adds. In all it's a good meal. There are some things I did not care for. Bathroom was dirty, uuugh. I had a fly buzzing my entire meal. They should invest in something to control that. Also the dish I was served on had a huge chip in it. It feels like the owners here are tired and not taking care of the little things. There is potential in every restaurant, this one has much to gain.

This was, by far, the worst oriental food I have ever had. First, it's a Chinese and Japanese restaurant and they dont do either a service by having both. Second, they are not the best at being cordial. In short, the food was tasteless.

The reason I give this place two stars is the following. I've heard horrible things about the place but then I heard they was under new management (found out that they aren't) so I figured I would give it a try. The first time I went I found a hair in my food. They have children serving you who does not have any respect or patience. They hover over you till your ready to order. When you order better hope the children doesn't bring the drinks or the food. They almost spill it on you and your guests. The meat and rice are good but the vegetables are either over cooked or undercooked there is no middle. For the price you could go to wasabi or shoguns in Owensboro and get 2.5 times more food. That is my experience with it take it for what you will.

For a small town, this a real find. The sushi was fresh and delicious. The hibachi was tasty especially scallops, shrimp , and salmon. Our friends from Florida said they cannot believe the taste and value.

Within a 50 mile radius, Tokyo, in Central City, is one of the best restaurants. The atmosphere is calm and quiet. The food is terrific! The service is professional and timeliness is appropriate. It is a friendly place to dine and I highly recommend. The place has improved remarkably over the last few years.

At one time it used to be good for a small town but we went yesterday and it was beyond bad! Their children waited tables, took 3 trys to get order straight as he didn't write it down forgot to place the sushi order. the shrimp in both dishes WAY overcooked so chewy it was horrible! poor service, crap food, think they should just shut down!

I've eaten at this place several times. Their food is a sub-par knock off of Fuji, Shogun and Wasabi and every single time I go, I end up ordering Filet Mignon and it always looks and tastes like a cheap thin steak, so I end up feeling ripped off and sick from their awful food and I haven't been back since someone told me they had dead ants stuck to their cup.
