I know, I know. We've all mourned the loss of New Wave Burrito... but Tikka Taco is amazing! The manager is sweet as a button, come out to chat, is open and friendly and generous. In fact, we couldn't find tamarind sauce and he gave us a bunch for free! He's always working whenever we swing by. Definitely dedicated to making the business succeed - and definitely it worth supporting! PS: There's also a big ol' television with every sports game you can imagine (especially soccer and cricket) and they do drink specials during games.

I went here with my three siblings. We all enjoyed this place so much. We loved the egg rolls. They came out so hot. 10/10 for the temperature of the food. (Be careful on the egg rolls) The queso for the chips is like a yellow nacho cheese but the salsa was good. The fusion tacos were good & we loved the dipping sauces. Most tacos/burrito meals come with a green mild salsa & a spicier cilantro/avocado & lime style sauce. All the food was so fresh & flavorful. We can't wait to go back to try other things. Service was so attentive & friendly. They had Christmas/holiday music playing & it was so nice & welcoming. Bathrooms could use a scrub but places like this the food outweighs that any day. Hope you check it out.

We're so happy to find a place that blends Indian spices with tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. It's the perfect fusion if you're looking for something delicious and different for your meal out! I love the use of paratha for the desidilla (ironically, sometimes I have tacos at home with paratha too).I also tried their chicken tikka masala, it was alright. Not very flavorful. I probably won't get their Indian dishes going forward. The fusion ones are the way to go though!!

Tikkas Tacos is a hidden gem in Louisville, it definitely surprised us! We stopped in while visiting family post-Thanksgiving. Service was good, food came out quick and hot.The fusion tacos are a standout--and I was blown away by their cheesesteaks! Who would've thought an Indian-Mexican fusion place could make a cheesesteak this good? lol. My parents were loving it. They got chicken and steak cheesesteaks and noted they were both very flavorful and juicy. My partner got the Bollywood tacos, and it was such a unique balanced taste with the garlic roti combined with Mexican fillings. Quite flavorful.I also tried their butter chicken and naan, which were solid, but the fusion dishes really stole the show. The vibe is divey and sports-bar-like, making it a casual and fun spot to hang out. If you're in the area, Tikkas Tacos is absolutely worth a visit!

Had a fantastic lunch today at Tikka Tacos. Found this gem on Yelp. Had the lamb burrito and the samosas. Both were extremely tasty. The lamb was so tender and juicy. The burrito construction was perfect. Great ratios and rolled tightly. The samosas were filled to the bring. Tasty filling with crispy dough. Loved the sauce. Service was fantastic. Very attentive and food was prepared quickly. Gave me extra sauce to go with my to-go box. Place was extremely clean and close parking. Will be back!

The location was easy to find and had a few parking spots in front of the establishment. This caught my eye because of the Indo-Mexican fusion dishes. When I entered, the first thing I noticed was a bar and large TV depicting a game. There was a nice ambiance as well. I took a look at the menu and ordered at the counter before finding a seat. I went with the Bolly Rollo thinking I'd get a decent sized burrito. It came out within 10 minutes. I'm pretty disappointed with the burrito. I paid nearly $20 including tip for a burrito that left me hungry after eating. There wasn't as much meat. The burrito was wrapped using one chapati. I had two chutneys - tomatillo and cilantro/mint? - that overpowered the taste of the burrito. I would have appreciated some sides for how much I paid for the burrito. Not sure if I'll stop here again.

I'll admit I wasn't as eager as my husband to try Tikka Tacos. As much as I love Indian food and tacos, the infusion seemed like a stretch. That, or I was just struggling to accept that they opened in the former New Wave Burrito location. Nonetheless, I ordered the Bollywood tacos, knowing that they've been all the rave. Bollywood tacos are Indian flatbread topped with chicken, biryani rice, lettuce, pico de gallo and avocado. It's served with two sauces on the side. These tacos are enormous! The pico de gallo added a freshness that a typical chicken and rice meal often lacks. The flavors were bold and the sauces were hot. The flatbread made the whole taco concept work quite well. It was a good value for a generous portion. My only complaint was that if it had avocado, I couldn't find it. We did not dine-in, so I'll have to wait till next time to describe the ambiance. But, there will be definitely be a next time.

Tikka Tacos lives in what used to be New Wave Burritos (R.I.P.). Since we live in J-Town and it's a helluva drive, we decided to make that helluva drive to Tikka Tacos to check it out. It's been a number of years since we'd visited New Wave Burritos, but from what I recall it appears the colorful paint on the walls is still the same. Or maybe still as colorful, but re-painted in the same festive color scheme. Doesn't much matter, because the bright, vibrant colors add fun and character.I think I saw it was considered Indo-Mexican Fusion food, and while I never saw a mashup like that coming, I'm glad someone did.We were seated immediately and our server (whom I'm SURE I've seen somewhere before) came to give our menus and take our drink orders. The menu has patently Mexican items, patently indian items, and what I'm going to call Mashup Items. I immediately focused on the Bollywood Tacos. Consisting of chicken tikka and avocado filling Indian paratha flatbread with taco toppings added, I never knew such a thing was possible. Our server (whom I freakin' KNOW I've met/seen somewhere before, dammit) brought our food in less than 10 minutes. And. It. Was. Glorious. Oh, MAN, it was such an unbelievable taste experience. You can taste how good it is by the picture I'm posting. Imagine that. It's even BETTER!For a Friday it wasn't too busy (and that's OK), but the restaurant was very clean and table were taken care of as soon as customers left. For the bar they have a number of beers on tap, in bottles, and some select liquors for your mixing pleasure. The drive to Tikka Tacos is pretty significant from J-Town, but one I'm willing to make. I'm serious. This is a food mashup that everyone needs to try.

Ordered online for pick up for lunch one day! We tried the Bollywood tacos and the tikka masala with garlic naan. The Bollywood tacos is where it's at! Definitely the one to order!!! It's filling to just eat 1! (It comes with 2) Instead of a tortilla, it looks like they used paratha. And they added rice that had some nice spices in it, a deliciously seasoned chicken, pico, lettuce, and avocado. It's hefty! And with the sauces on the side, a salsa verde and something similar to a chutney, they added a nice spice to the tacos. The tikka was alright. Not the best I've had but I like that they offer both Indian food and Mexican food. Not bad if you want both for dinner!Parking kinda sucks over here. Only a few spots in front that back out onto the street. It wasn't busy during the day, but I can't imagine what a weekend is like!

The food was incredible! We ordered takeout online so I didn't get to see the inside but husband said it was casual and quiet when he went to pick up the order. Our order was ready quickly and we were happy with the convenience! We ordered the Bollywood Tacos, the Butter Chicken with Garlic Naan, and an order of the samosas. The samosas were awesome and came with a delicious sauce! The Bollywood tacos were huge! And we loved the avocado sauce that came with them! The butter chicken was good but we were pretty full from the other food and saved most of it for leftovers. We will definitely come again!
