This was my first time kayaking and it was awesome. Will definitely be going back. The gentleman who helped us, Jeff, was super nice and the ease of checking was quick. Simply call by noon to make your kayak reservation. They have two hour rentals for 20bucks. Or you could do half a day or full day rentals for 35 at most. We did the two hour rental since it was my first time. Anyways, we reserved them for 1-3pm and we were running late we called to let them know which it wasn't a problem at all. They were super nice. Got there signed waiver and paid. Went to the dock and he already had them waiting for us. It was the perfect day, highly recommend going if you haven't done so already :) we even made some new friends in the river haha

I have been twice to this establishment and both times the woman behind the counter has been very rude. This last time she refused to put down her magazine to inform us that even though they advertise a six mile trip option, they usually only offer the "paddle in paddle out" option. Basically she didn't want to be bothered with driving us up river. She didn't offer us an explanation, the option to schedule in the future, or a simple apology. Heck, she didn't even smile. For the second and last time I left this establishment with no kayak. I will not be back! Especially when you can drive another 30 minutes and rent a canoe and/or kayak from someone with a personality at the gorge. There is a lot to be said for basic customer service skills and for goodness sakes Put down your magazine when someone is trying to give you their money!

Right between the beach at Boonesboro State Park and Hall's on the River. Easy to get to, great for an afternoon float. Very, very nice staff, the canoes were in great shape and very reasonably priced. Very accommodating.

The owner was awesome!! Very cool and laid back. The water is deep, pretty atmosphere, pass boats, can take a cooler, and a nice restaurant near there called halls when you are done. Only downside was the water doesn't have a current so you have to paddle back lol

Three trees seemed to be good when planning my boyfriends birthday, but however they did not keep their word in letting me know 24 hours in advance if the water levels were going to be too high. We knew that rain was coming and our plans were Saturday, earlier in the week he had said that he would give us a 24 hour notice to make other arrangements as we had many people coming from out of town. Come Friday I had not heard from him, so we assumed that we were still on. People from out of town came and then 4 hours before our planned outing they called an canceled. As I do appreciate the concern for our safety, I did not appreciate the going back on his word with canceling 4 hours before instead of 24. When I called to talk to the owner about this on the phone, he used foul language and a condescending tone telling me, "Sh** you just don't understand the river do you?" As I may not be as knowledgeable about the river conditions, I am knowledgeable about courtesy, and this was just not the way to go about it. We were left pretty frustrated as we were left without plans and company in town for his birthday. I would not want to do business with someone who was not considerate of his customers special day.

We had a great canoe float down to the dam (our kids loved the dam's "waterfall" as they called it), played in the water at the Fort Boonesborough beach area and down river and back on a 2 hour ride. For a family activity on the water, you can't beat Three Trees. They are so friendly and helpful!! Their canoes are in great shape and you can't beat their price (trust us, we looked everywhere within an hour radius of here).
