Thoroughbred Park isn't particularly large, but it DOES have quite a number of lovely statues! On the minus side, it's obviously in need of a fair amount of maintenance, and it isn't in the finest part of town...If fact, on our last visit we happened to go around the back of the fountain, and there were lots of homeless people milling about; we felt very uneasy and left the park straight away.

What a fabulous park! Rolling green grass, plenty of benches, interesting plaques discussing leaders in the horse industry lining the walkway. We absolutely adored all the horse sculptures, full size, and glorious. My favorite was the baby colt curled up in the flower beds!

Cool park in Lexington. Had a bunch of nice horse statues and other neat sights. It's a small park but a nice clean place you can walk and see the statues.

Thoroughbred Park is a nice space at the end of Main Street. I've never seen anyone there personally, but it would be a great place to hangout. I'd also recommend taking photos, too.

It might not be the biggest park in Lexington, it actually might be the smallest... don't quote me on that. We stopped by the park because we were driving by, looking for some kentucky shots. This place as a stampede of stallions with jockeys on their backs. If that's not Kentucky, I don't know what is. The park also has other case iron horses that are 'grazing' around the park. The park is a triangle, bordered by streets. It's not in the best part of town, but it's a nice little green space. They've also got a large fountain, almost pool like that wraps around a wall. I bet people wade in the water on hot days, & I bet that isn't allowed. The brick leaded up to the stampede of horses is very uneven. I think it's probably hard for people in wheelchairs to transverse over it. Hell, I bet it's hard for women in heels to walk over it.

I've never had much use for this park before the release of the augmented reality game Pokémon Go. When not being swarmed by Pokémon players, this place is pretty slow. The homeless sleep in the bushes and under the trees when the weather is better. Usually not too bothersome, but the panhandling can get irritating. If you're here for Pokémon Go, there are approximately ten stops in a very walkable area. When the game is busy, people place a lot of lures, which results in lots Pokémon to catch.During the warmer months, the fountain is filled but the water isn't treated. Don't swim in it. People do, but really, don't.Avoid the walkway down the center of the park on the lower level. It is paved with uneven rock and is easy to trip on if you're not wary.

Great spot for playing Pokemon in a safe and well lit part of Downtown. The park kind of loops so you can just go around collecting the stops. Be sure not to trip on the weird bit of sidewalk that looks like ran on horse track.

This is a beautiful little park but apparently this is also where the homeless are allowed to sleep. I understand that shelters do not allow people to stay if they are drinking or doing drugs and that they need somewhere to sleep it off but holy crap - NOT the best place to walk in a Sunday morning if you are not aware of this fact. Scared the heck out of me! (And surprising that the Lex police let them sleep here.) just a heads up peeps so that you don't have a heart attack!

We got to Lexington early enough in the evening to check out a few sites. On our way to see the downtown area, we came upon this park. So much history to learn about. Each plaque contained a headshot of someone who influenced both Lexington as well as thoroughbred horses, and a brief history from their time. The park was clean and the paved sidewalks amongst the horses and plaques were easy to follow. The park also offered benches to sit upon. It was a nice 1/2 hour stroll through the park close to downtown Lexington.
