Thoroughbred Heritage Horse Farm Tours

Nicholas provided an outstanding tour of Keenland track and nearby area farms. He was a wealth of information as someone who grew up in the area and still lives here. He introduced us to a number of new born foals and their mothers. At the track he obviously knew many of the staff, jockie's, security and owners. We were able to see some horses working out, being exercised, and nursing a new foal, stalls ready for delivering a mare that will likely deliver tonight, gravesites of several champion horses and so much more. The tour had lots of photo opportunities and we thoroughly enjoyed our guide's insights and back stories!

My mom was in town and we booked a tour. She wanted to the horse farms.They pick you up at Embassy Suites on Newtown Pike, You do a 3-4 hour tour of several sights.Got walk around Keenland & 2 smaller horse farms in Fayette Co. Our guide was great, If your in town and want to see the horse industry.My mother loved it...

Our friends treated us to the horse farm tour in Lexington. It was wonderful. We saw beautiful horses and impressive horse stables. The ride to the farms was comfortable. Our tour guide, Nick, talked about the history of the horse farms and answered all questions. He was very knowledgable. It was a great tour and we highly recommend this experience.

Stunningly beautiful and Daniel knew sooo much knowledge about the area and horses it just made the tour so much more enjoyable!Highly recommend going! This was an awesome tour. Whether you are a horse person or not it's so informative and interesting. We got to pet some horses which was really cool. Seeing them up close is just amazing. The tour was in a large comfy van and we could relax and listen while driving all around different horse farms. I feel like I understand more of what goes into horse racing and how much time and money it costs. The farms were so nice. I really recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Lexington area. The tour left out of an embassy suites. There was one stop for the restroom so be prepared for that. The tour was 3 1/2 hours but it felt like it went so quickly. Such a great time.

I knew absolutely nothing about horseracing before taking this tour with Vickie. It was worth every penny. The scenery in Kentucky is in itself a worthy drive. Throw in a horsetrack tour, getting up close to some thoroughbreds and petting a colt...it can't be beat.Vickie is knowledgeable and has personal experience in this field. She was funny and helpful. I loved that she kept us moving but still allowed for pictures and petting. If possible, take a morning tour on a weekday. Trust me.

We went on a tour and Nicholas was our tour guide. We had a fabulous time! We felt like we got a local insider's look at the Keeneland Race Track and several house farms. Some we just drove by and some we stopped and visited. We even got to get up close and personal meeting some thoroughbreds! I love it when you get recommendations from locals when you're traveling! Our guide told us about Burgoo and then recommended @theelkhorntavern! Great recommendation Nicholas! And the Burgoo was DELICIOUS! Burgoo is a beef, elk, and rabbit stew, local to Kentucky! It also has lima beans, corn, okra, tomatoes, cabbage and potatoes. I would highly recommend this tour based on our experience today!

A thorough van tour to several horse farms in Lexington, Kentucky..... our tour included Keeneland Race track ..... interesting. Daniel, our live wire tour operator and guide, made the trip great for us. He talks nonstop for 3 hours.... I recommend this horse tour.

Had a great tour with Larry! We went to three different farms and drove past the Keeneland practice track. It would have been cool to go in Keeneland, but that wasn't possible with COVID. The van was comfortable, and we were joined by 5 other people. We could spread out in the van and I felt safe with everyone wearing masks inside. We particularly enjoyed the last stop, where we got to pet horses. Would highly recommend!

Tour guide ruined it. Nonstop talking about things unrelated, throwing out insults. Remember to bring your own drink on a warm day!
