Thoroughbred Golf Club at Highpoint

The TGC is officially open under new ownership, the Taylors of Taylor Made Farm, one of our premier thoroughbred breeding farms in the BlueGrass. Daddy Joe's Grill on the property is a small bar and visitor center for the farm where t-shirts and other items are sold, mostly of interest to horseracing enthusiasts. There's a cozy little bar that opens onto a covered patio. This is the best aspect of the place -- sitting out on a beautiful evening with a cool one, looking out onto the manicured greens. There is a small menu, nothing fancy -- Hall's Beer Cheese, BBQ with a really excellent mustard based sauce, nice hot wings, burgers, and yummy cheese/potato perogies with dill sauce. While I'm not a golfer, it is a quiet little spot in Jessamine County. If you are a golfer, this is a beautiful public course, and there are lessons to be had.

Terrible customer service by the "pro or manger." Called to get a tee time and he responded with "Well idk... I'll try to get you out." He was very annoyed with us just trying to get a spot.... there were maybe 3 other groups on the course...got there and 45$! to play this place.... go play a real course for your money and stay away!

Very enjoyable day. Staff were great. New design clubhouse was a big surprise. Food very good. Course was typical spring golf. Green were very good for early spring.

We had lunch here today after a tour at Taylor Made Farm. Very clean and updated facility. It has a nice little store in front with all things horse related. An outdoor eating area when the weather permits is available along with an indoor bar, seating and lots of tv's to watch the game. Food was good and service was very friendly.

A real hidden gem in the Lexington / Nicholasville area. A fun layout that isn't terribly long. New carts, cart paths, and the restaurant is top notch. Been under new ownership for a couple of years and they are really putting money and effort into the course and restaurant. Check it out!

Was able to get on on short notice. $25 twilight rate!! Score! Nice course beautiful scenery. Great carts w GPS and speakers (not a fan). Tough course if you don't know it as most are but it didn't eat me alive either. Nice clubhouse, bar and food. It'd be a great neighborhood to live in too.

Probably a fine course if I could get out there. Not much has to be said but the old dude on the course is a douche.

Enjoyed the golf and but at the turn I wanted to buy some beer this was the 2nd six we purchasedSo we spent close to 27.00 plus the golf. They were having some computer issues. It did not seem that the man that checked us in and the bar were coordinated. The man that checked us in was nice. I asked him if we could purchase more beer and he sent us to the bar. At this stage after being ignored for about 15 minutes a short heavy set lady with multiple tattoos finally acknowledged me. She acted irritated and frustrated that she had to wait on me and told me to go back to the man who was checking in golfers. Next time if I play there again I will sneak my own beer in. This lady was rude and did not need to be serving people. If you're going to have a bar people need to be hired that will want to do a job with respect and courtesy

I have never been so disappointed in a golf course. I was actually a member at this club last year. The fact that the website says $30 dollars on the weekend and the answering machine also says they are charging winter rates. And I get there and they charged me $45 dollars is a joke. I will be calling them and trying to get my $15 dollars back and let them know they are robbing people. The course is a glorified farm field and the tee boxes look like the carved them out of dirt. The carts are so slow I could have crawled faster. The course management was a joke. I was told no groups of less than 4 before 4:00 and I got there and there was a single on the 3rd hole at 3:30. What a joke and they told us we had to have our cart back at 7:30 so we had to try and play 18 holes in 3.5 hours. I will never play there again. Please play anywhere but this farm field. Whoever is in charge of this place must not have ever played on the course as it is a joke..
