The Winchester

We came in for a late lunch and the restaurant was empty, very quiet with some music playing in the background. This was our first time here so hoped that it was just time of day. It's located in a hotel but easily identified. We ordered:Bourbon bruschetta Quesadilla Naan chicken sandwich with friesAll of the food was good and would consider ordering again. Andre was our server and was pleasant and friendly. Great service. Missed pics of sandwiches but including appetizer.

We had an 830 Reservation. Arrived at 8. Were sat at 930. 45 min to get our app (deviled eggs) that came out and tasted awful and 1 bar drink. Salads arrived after entrees another 45 min later. Rib eye was the worst steak I've had in recent memory. With the wait we even offered to just place our order to-go. They told us no - they couldn't handle it in the kitchen. There was no plan at the front of the house to deal with this. No offer for accommodation on any level even water or direction of where to wait or how to be called. They were literally walking through the hotel yelling names. This was not our first time here. It is usually better. But it might be they can't handle high volume nights - or have had changes in the kitchen. But it will be a long time before we consider going back.

Tried to do 2 different meals here while I was in the area for a business tripEvening meal - midweek. The restaurant was slow, I was greeted and seated pretty quickly, and I ordered a salad with grilled chicken. After the waitress had refilled my drink twice, she said she would check to see where my salad was... a couple of minutes later, she stops by with a salad: "Oh, this isn't yours. Yours should be coming soon" as she leave the restaurant to take the salad to the bar outside the restaurant. 25 minutes into the visit, she comes by with my salad "they were having problems with your chicken". Next time I saw here was with the check "I'm guessing you don't want desert" (no drink off the bill, no other apologies)This is not the service I expect at a steak houseBreakfast - get down to the restaurant about 7:30 AM, no customers, no waitstaff, no kitchen help. I double check their front, this is the breakfast place for the hotel. I took a seat and waited - about 10 minutes later a waitress comes out "Oh i didn't know there was anyone out here". I tell her I'm now in a bit of a rush and I place an order. While I am waiting another person comes in looking for breakfast, I explained my experience so far and he starts back towards the kitchen, calling out "hello" - he comes back "well i think the cook was just walking out, but there is no one back there"Over all, if you don't have a minimum of an hour to wait, this is not the place for youI can not see visiting it again under any circumstances

Excellent service amazing food!! The ambiance was so nice with fire pits on the patio.

Over priced dry hush puppies. Service was okay. But definitely not worth the trip for a " fancy " meal over priced dry food. Lots of nasty stares if you have a child with you and they are even the slightest bit fussy

Made a mistake on a business and booked the wrong Delta hotel but I'm glad I did. This hotel is nice with great rooms and many spacious and comfortable common areas.I really liked the restaurant with good food. I like their sliders and the filet mignon medallion from the list of appetizers. But most importantly, they have bourbon (well it's in KY) a lot of bourbon. I had a rating flight as I'm not a connaisseur. Their breakfast is not great. They also encourage a local bakery (as they should) but I was not impressed by the cakes. Anyhow, it's a very nice bar and restaurant for an hotel located in an isolated area.

Went to this beautiful establishment for my granddaughter's graduation. Because of the recent reviews, we decided to take her there for graduation dinner we were seated .The Restaurant was empty at 8pm for graduation night, which we found it kind of strange. The server she was very nice. She took our order for drinks and when we ordered a piña colada, they did not have a blender so then I asked her if I can have a Mojito didn't have any mints. We ordered two dozen oysters. they were very dry, which was a huge disappointment because we know what good oysters taste like.We placed our order which was surf and turf for the table. My husband started to order., he ordered some asparagus with his steak. She said they didn't have any asparagus. They were out, he looked at her and said, of course you are. When our dinner arrived, the guest of honor, which was my granddaughter, the graduate her steak looked more like a chicken very overcooked when she had asked for a medium rare Steak.The lobster was a disappointment as well. The steaks were all very salty. My steak was barely warm my daughter-in-law's meal. Her rice was cold.The whole meal was a complete disappointment, and I was truly embarrassed for taking my granddaughter there on her special night I do not take pleasure in leaving a bad review, but I really hope that this establishment takes note and does better with that being said I felt really sad for the waitress who was taking our order because the servers are the ones that represent this establishment and she did very well although the establishment failed her, but our son made sure that her tip did not reflect our disappointment in the establishment.

Great little restaurant in the heart of downtown Ashland! It's located inside the Hotel but not hard to find. We were seated quickly by very friendly staff. They showed us a pretty nice lunch menu and we decided to try their steaks. They also have great cocktails! The whole meal was pretty inexpensive, tasty, and a good experience overall. Id definitely recommend when visiting Ashland.

I am not impressed with the food, especially for the price that was paid. We ordered two filets, both to be medium rare, a kids meal, and a cheesesteak sandwich. One of the filets was medium at best, but was good despite it being cooked wrong. The second filet was well done and really tough. They did remake it for us, which we were grateful for. I didn't expect them to deduct anything from our bill because we still received our filet. The kids meal, Mac and cheese and french fries, was a let down. Being in such a high end and pricey restaurant, I didn't expect them to bring out Kraft Mac and cheese. And it wasn't even good. Our waiter, Andrais, was really nice and tentative to our needs. He was understanding and polite about our food being cooked wrong, as well as apologetic.

Server and kitchen manager delivered excellent customer service. As one person in our party has an extreme allergic reaction to a particular food, we conveyed this information to our server. She in turn, checked with the kitchen manager who came to our table to verify that our order would not trigger any reaction. In our experience, most establishments do not check with the kitchen manager as to what ingredients are in the prepared dishes. We were very grateful for the thoroughness of our server and the kitchen manager.
