The Whirling Tiger

A great spot especially on Saturday night if you like house music and wanna dance with an eclectic crowd. There's typically no cover and the vibe is 70s dico. Plenty of seating with a shag carpet "living room" and upstairs. There's a couple pin ball machines, shuffleboard, and a stage area in the back where they book shows. Sometimes there's a silent disco! The bartenders are awesome and door guy isn't mean. You're probably going on a side quest here. I can't really think of anything negative to say other than they rarely have blue moon!! I always have fun here. Worth multiple visits even if your first time isn't amazing. Go on a Saturday :)

Tried the coffee place, and it was really good. Inside is very quiet and cozy. The employees were nice and welcoming. I got a hot vanilla latte and a toasted plain bagel. Both were very good and hit the spot after running a 5K.

The Whirling Tiger is the spot I drive by every single day. Unfortunately a lot of their events are for later in the day, until now because they offer coffee now as well. Well, this time we went for the holiday bar. This spot has the most elaborate decorations of any of the holiday bars that we had gone to. It felt like you were in an 80s Christmas movie. There's multiple rooms and they're all decorated slightly differently. There's even a theater upstairs to watch holiday movies. I really appreciated the atmosphere and the holiday spirit. I may have to stop in on a morning to get some coffee as well.

A lot of my friends come here a lot, but it was my first time here!They do check IDs when you walk in. There was a concert going on that night that had a cover fee, but we were all there to hang out.It's a fun space! A decent amount of seating, but most of us were standing or dancing. The lights gave such a nice vibe and eventually there was a DJ playing music. Not sure how prices are for the drinks since friends bought me mine. But I'm basic and got a vodka soda, which isn't a pricy drink anyway.Parking around here is parallel but we found a spot easily just a block behind the building. Love it here!

We were in town to see the band Real Estate, and we were really impressed by this venue. It had a cozy ambiance m, and it was impossible to get a bad view of the band on stage. It was easy to be up front and close to all of the action. If you wanted to stay back and relax in the back, there were plenty of seat and table options as well. We will definitely have to stop by the next time we are in the area to see a band perform live in Louisville!

We went for jazz on Wednesday night and the performances were amazing! The drinks were light but strong. The bar tenders were amazing with true artistry with their selections. The upstairs seating with the low and comfortable couches welcomed community as we enjoyed the ambiance and music laughing the night away.

A cool bar that is pretty hidden off of Story Ave. I have never been here before but went last night to see Creed Bratton from the hit show The Office. The place in the back was pretty packed and had to stand all night. The vibes are definitely cool and neat but the parking is not great with street parking. And that night it was a rainy night so you might have to walk far.

I've now been here for 2 shows and I can now confidently say this is a good addition to the Louisville music scene. It's a nice sized room to accommodate some good artists. On both occasions I attended, we were fortunate enough to have good crowds and good staff. And there are more good shows coming up on their calendar, so I will be back.

Drinks were not made very well and service was slow. The place was very neat though and I loved the old building.
