This morning, my husband and I joined a friend for brunch at The Village Anchor, and it was absolutely delicious!I ordered the Fish and Chips, which came with two generous pieces of perfectly crispy cod, served alongside fries and coleslaw. We also shared the Green Chili Wontons as an appetizer, and they were outstanding--plump, flavorful, and a perfect mix of heat and crunch. Much better than those at Bristol. No hate here, just keeping it honest. My husband opted for Bob's Big Breakfast, which included three eggs cooked over medium, candied bacon (a standout!), and a fresh berry salad. Every bite was amazing, and the presentation was just as delightful as the taste. The service was attentive and friendly, and the cozy ambiance made our brunch even more enjoyable.

The fried chicken was delish! Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The mashed potatoes and green beans were fine--nice complements to the chicken, but definitely outshined by it. My mom's burger hit the spot. Food just needed to be served hotter.I didn't have dessert so I can't say...NOT! Of course, I had dessert. I got a BOAT of banana pudding topped with meringue. It looked like a huge storm cloud approaching. And you know what? I ate every last bite. If you love banana and sweets, this is a heavenly choice. If you don't like banana and think it'll be subtle, you're fooling yourself--try something else! The second we walked in, the host was so fun and friendly, and our server was equally welcoming and super efficient. The atmosphere was a romantic tavern vibe with a hint of gothic charm--red and black walls and a cozy fireplace. Our checks were served in well-loved softcover romance novels. I loved it. Honestly, the whole experience had a slightly campy feel that I adored.I saw multiple outdoors spaces with heated tents and a downstairs pub. The grounds are pretty, too, so I'll definitely be going back in spring to enjoy the patio. Overall, The Village Anchor accomplishes a slightly upscale experience while still having that laid-back, neighborhood vibe that makes a night out memorable and worth repeating.

My husband and I had a very pleasant experience here. I would not recommend the pretzel, however, unless you like a very strong and spicy brown mustard. The beer cheese with it was unfortunately weak in flavor, but the pretzel itself was large and done well. I had the fish and chips and my husband had the meatloaf burger; Both were very good and I definitely recommend them for their portions and flavor. The fireplace helped to make the environment very cozy, just be prepared for when the door opens and the cold rushes in! Totally understandable for the small space it is. I did not get many photos this time around.

I am very sad to update my wonderful reviews of this restaurant. They have changed some things and the food quality has definitely gone down. I have spoken with friends who also used to love this place and those of us who have been loyal customers have agreed. The green chile wontons in particular are not very good and the meatloaf burger is nothing special anymore. They used to be favorites for us. We don't plan to be back unless we hear they have gone back to their previous quality.

I can only speak to the food for takeout, so I can't comment on the vibes. But we went to the brewery next door and sat outside where the restaurant has menus for you to order takeout. Super convenient and the two patios kind of merge together. They even bring out the food to your table. We tried the spinach dip and it came with bread and tortilla chips for dipping. The dip was a bit too salty but the chips and bread were great. I tried the fish tacos for my entree and they were a bit underwhelming. There wasn't a lot of flavor. The serving was very generous though so you could split them with someone. My boyfriend got the burger with sweet potato fries. The fries were really good with the marshmallow Creme on the side. Overall, not super impressed with the food for the price. I'd go back to try some other things. Service was great.

I love this place! Hadn't been in a few years and went with my family to celebrate my birthday. Great ambiance if seated inside. There is a cozy fireplace. I had the fish and chips and they were great. My husband's fried chicken was very good! I love Palomas and their was delicious and spicy! Our waitress was very nice and accommodating. Menu has a wide variety, anyone can find something they love there.

5 stars all around with this place! Food was fresh , hot and large portions. Savannah was our server. She was attentive and friendly. We dined on the enclosed patio with a gorgeous fireplace, sculptures and beautiful original flooring added to a great experience. I originally thought the prices were a bit high but with the large portions and phenomenal taste, it's definitely worth it.

Went for BRUNCH. I think we got every appetizer while we were here and they were all delicious. The service was fantastic. Ross was a rockstar. It was my first time coming here and the only issue I had was with the parking situation but once that was figured out, I had no problems. The restaurant has such a cool story behind it and is definitely worth checking out

This place was really nice. The area is quiet and there was lots of seating space outside. The inside is a little tight of a fit and it can get a little loud. The food was great! The French toast was delicious and the corn beef hash was very yummy as well. Their coffee is French pressed which made it very strong and bold. The server and the hostess were very nice and helpful and prompt. Overall it was a great first visit.

My husband and I had our Friday night date here and we were blown away by the whole experience. The food, the service, the atmosphere, with the fire crackling in the background -all perfection. I had the Wagyu burger and it was by far the best burger I've ever had. My husband had the fillet mignon and said it was the best steak he had ever had and cooked to perfection. Catherine B. was our gracious server. She was kind, humorous, and provided stellar service. All the employees were incredibly friendly and inviting. Highly recommend. We are already looking forward to the next visit! M&L
