Fantastic co-working space that has fast internet and even offers a one day pass. Mark - one of the owners - met me at the door, gave me a tour, and got me going. I will say I emailed 5 co-working spaces in the area and the Root was the only one that responded ?!?! Strange. Also - I parked "literally" 4 feet from the front door in free parking. I would recommend this place to anyone. Good coffee too.

I only attended a speaker engagement at the root. It was open to the public. I met some very nice people there and we made some connections. I really like how the root was set up. I don't need an outside office parse but to go there and be able to be in your own office with all the amenities they had is outstanding.

Dark cherry wood and tall windows with painted panes. Antique glass bottles decorating high shelves. Original art on the walls behind a row of new laptops. The vibe is warm and creative, and the thought of curling up in one of those plush chairs is incredibly enticing.More than just a co-working/office rental option, they also offer varied events, mostly hosted by and showcasing local businesses. It's a multi-purpose space that's totally on trend, without all that pretentious hipster crap. After living in Louisville for five years, my visit to The Root was my very first trip to New Albany, and what I saw and heard there makes me want to make another trip across the bridge and check out what else is going on in Southern Indiana. I had absolutely no idea that New Albany is kinda cool.My rationale for 4 and not 5 stars is the price structure; I found the space rental fees to be quite high, especially for the area ($125 for a seat, $500+ for an office). I noticed that several people were sharing offices, though, which would make the fees very reasonable. I definitely recommend you check it out, if for no other reason than the original NKOTB dolls. Really.

The Root is THE spot to romanticize your work life.Listen, working from home is great until you realize you've been in the same sweatpants for three days and your "coworkers" (a.k.a. your pets) are demanding snacks every five minutes. Enter The Root--aka my new favorite place to feel like a productive, put-together entrepreneur .The decor? A+ vibes. It's giving Pinterest-worthy coworking goals with just the right amount of artsy coolness. The space feels so authentic to New Albany--like if your dream office and your favorite local coffee shop had a baby. They've got phone booths for private calls (so you don't have to whisper-yell on Zoom in a café), conference rooms for big boss meetings, and even event spaces if you're feeling fancy and want to host something. Oh, and did I mention the recording studio?? Podcasters, content creators, and people who love hearing their own voice--this one's for you .Bottom line: If you're looking for a coworking space that's actually inspiring and not just "a table and Wi-Fi," The Root is it. Highly recommend. 12/10. Would move in if they let me.
