I'm writing this review based only on the purchase of greeting cards and some hard candy, as well as, view of soda fountain area. I did not go into pharmacy or purchase any ice cream. Walking into the story is like walking back in time. A full soda fountain area with bar stools and two small booths along with a child parlor table and chairs are in the very front of the store. Some basic candy and gift items are nearby along with greeting cards and some pharmacy themed shirts. The fountain had a service representative cleaning the area and one patron during a mid-Saturday dreary afternoon. I would definitely visit again for a shake, Sunday or ice cream if for no other reason than nostalgia. The pharmacy is in the back of the store. It had several small aisles of products with the pharmacist mid-center. A client came while there. It is not a CVS or Walgreens. It's a small town pharmacy that looks like it could have been in operation for years passed down from one generation to the next. A picture of yesteryear. I do hope it remains viable.

I've been to the Midway Music Festival both years and went here both times. It's a nice old time feel, to get that ice cream or soda you want. Def worth going to if you're around the Midway area on any sunny day, and want an ice cream fix.

Pick a sunny day and head over to Midway, a charming little town meant for a stroll. Have lunch or just go to visit the shops where you might find a special something to take home. Railroad Drig is about the old fashioned soda fountain where the coffee shake is still my favorite and worth the trip. Sometimes, I just can't ignore a craving.52

An interesting and fun little throwback to an earlier time. It's not quite "Happy Days" where Fonzie would go for a soda float ( root beer or cola), but it's close enough. The pharmacy in the back is also worth the visit even if you don't need anything (and there's no one waiting for an actual prescription. A little off the beaten path, but a nice place to visit.

Early morning drive form CVG to Frankfort.. And every mile is punctuated by a splitting headache :( so I decide to drive super fast and reach the office and pop a painkiller.. But guess what happens the moment I hit 64..? There is a cop car going at 70 mph and no one wants to per take him! Ridic! So I follow for a while.. And the headache gets the better of me and I get off the highway and drive into Midway. The only place open is this drug store.. I am hoping for water and a Tylenol maybe? I enter into this old fashioned place.. the pharmacy is far off in the back..But in the front, is this old fashioned ice cream parlor with marble counter tops and high bar stools.. #lovingit.. and as if that not enough, they have a WHOLE rack full of old fashioned candy in cute old fashioned jars.. yes.. the ones that you wring off the lid, slide your hand in sneakily and grab tonnes of candy! :pI spent half an hour chatting up with the warm lady as she served me piping hot tea, and some local weather gossip - all with a smile! :)Loved spending that half hour there..! Would love to be back!

In addition to a full time pharmacy they have an old time soda fountain that serves shakes, malts, sundaes and banana splits. They have great pumpkin spice ice cream for Oct/Nov.

I loved this little old fashioned soda shoppe with 50's look including counter and stools. It was clean, well kept, the staff was friendly and it was very affordable. Nice little downtown area as well. This place has lunches, ice cream and old fashioned sodas plus a very neat pharmacy. I took my 16 year old there and my niece/nephew who are 7 and 9. They all loved it. Their lunch menu is very limited, about 5 food choices that suited our needs.

This is a treat to find in downtown Midway. It truly has the feeling of an old fashioned drug store. Ken the pharmacist is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Most of the locals already know how great the service is at the pharmacy but now let's give those not in need of medication a reason to stop in. Ice cream and I mean real honest to god ice cream. Sundays and banana splits, or just grab a cone. It's almost worth the drive from Lexington just to have one of their deserts on a Saturday morning or sometime before closing during the week.
