Was in the area & looking for some hikes, It's not a long hike, Mostly up hill & it will push you. You could easily hike all day on the trails. Parking lot closes & gates lock @ sunset. If your late coming down your going to sleeping in parking lot.

My family and I went for a hike here last weekend during Labor Day weekend. We drove about an hour and a half down to the place. I've heard good things we've seen good pictures so we decided to climb up the mountain through the East pinnacle track and look over everything in the beautiful scenery. It was a pretty easy hike not too challenging I have two young kids and they made it up pretty well. However we go hiking a lot so this was not too challenging which my kids really appreciated. There's a lot of people to bring dogs we had a game to see how many dogs are passed for the bottom to the top we passed 31 dogs so it was a lot which was good because my daughters like to pet the dogs. So definitely recommend it definitely will be back a +5 stars

Perhaps, one of the most over looked hiking places in the state of Kentucky. I've made the two hour drive here from Indiana several times and its worth the drive. When you first enter the trailhead you will have a steep 400 foot hike that will make the heart pound but then the grounds level off to offer in my view some of the finest views in the entire state. The rock formations are incredible and the view into the valleys make you feel like your in another state. The last two times that we hiked here we came across a local dog that belongs to people that live next to the grounds and both times the little fella followed us for hours and he has no fear of the cliff edges. In fact, his dog collar states that he isn't lost and that he lives nearby. I was also interested in seeing the Devil's Kitchen which is a natural archway and the name alone made we curious. The entire system is a 6.6 mile loop and if your here in spring the natural flowers will catch your eye. Most people in the Indiana-Kentucky area are well aware of Red River Gorge but this is a place that needs to be on your map. Bottom line I can't say enough good things about this hike.
