We were enjoying the happy hour reception at the hotel and decided to just eat our evening meal in the bar there. I ordered the Rueben sandwich on sourdough and paid an extra dollar to upgrade from fries to onion rings. The sandwich was good, although I wish it'd had a little more meat on it. The onion rings were crispy and delicious. We ordered up at the bar and then they brought our meals to us when they were ready. It was a relaxing atmosphere with good food.

I got the BEST service here! I took full advantage of the complimentary reception and then went back for dinner. I believe the bartenders name is Matt but he is a ROCK STAR! He remembered my drinks each time I went to his very busy bar during the reception hour and he helped me with a big to go order I put in later that night! I ordered the Brussel sprouts, the French onion soup, the Kentucky Hot Brown egg rolls, and the beer cheese dip with carrots and celery. Everything was soooooo good! Thanks for a great experience!

I was torn on whether to give them 1 star or 2 but the folks here are actually somewhat nice so I broke down and gave them 2. Either way, it sucks! Traveling from Chicago to Charleston and picked this as we've had good luck with Embassy Suites and this was close to half way. Arrived a little late and grabbed dinner. Imagine attending a Sysco prepared food show and that would be better. Hot Brown came served on a hot dog bun. Buffalo chicken dip came previewed and regurgitated from the staff in the kitchen (at least easy to digest!). Wings were terrible...think Tyson precooked frozen wings. Wine was priced too high for quality of restaurant. Spent $120 on 2 adults and 2 kids. Breakfast gave new meaning to "shit show" or "cattle call". Do yourselves a favor Embassy Suites. Put some effort into the F&B and you might actually make some money. If you stay here, order out!

How does the Paddock Grille not yet have a single review? That surprises me.For a few years, up through my changing jobs in 2009, I ate here on a semi-regular basis and enjoyed it every time. After that extended hiatus, I was able to return for lunch recently and all was as I remembered it. It's upscale enough to confidently invite both old friends and new acquaintances to join you. One thing that I like about it is that one is never forced to wait for a table or talk over the conversation of a crowd. Perhaps this raises the question of why more people are not patronizing them, but I suspect that has more to do with the fact that I tend to eat lunch there on business days. It may be very crowded nights and weekends for all I know. It's no longer close to my workplace, but it's the kind of restaurant that is worth going out of my way to meet valued friends or colleagues for a good discussion or meeting over good food.

I happened to be staying at the Embassy Suites in Lexington and decided to check out the Paddock Grille. The restaurant/bar is located to one side of the main hotel lobby. It has a few flat screen TVs and lots of seating around the bar. Service is a little slow and the bar is definitely on the slower pace. Now the food was pretty good, I ordered the ribeye steak with a baked potato. The steak was cooked perfectly. During my stay I've had dinner here a few times since.

Way over priced. It's a restaurant in a hotel, so it is what it is...but some of the prices are outrageous. Being nit from the area, I ordered a Kentucky Brown. Turns out it's just sliced turkey, ham, tomato, bacon on a roll with some cheese sauce. Really basic, but they charge over $18 for it. Not bad tasting, not worth the price.

Horrible service, I'm sure the cooks are working so hard to produce great food. I wouldn't know because the bartenders are on their phones and ignoring everyone. At one point I made eye contact with everyone at the bar and we all shrugged our shoulders from being ignored. Horrible management and horrible hospitality. I'd never recommend eating here because of the service. Every single person at the bar and sitting outside the bar area was complaining. This is the SECOND night like this. Garbage... not only that but this bartender REUSED a used glass on the draft tap.... Health and safety regulations are completely ignored here... I wouldn't give this place 1 star

Completely terrible. I got a dish called the Kentucky Brown...I know, but it sounded interesting. It was a dry dish that took all the good ingredients of a great sandwich and ruined them. My dessert was also awful. It was a Bananas Foster New York cheesecake, so you would expect bananas right...not! I got a hard crystallized sugar concoction over a mediocre cheesecake and NO BANANAs. The other members of my party ordered steaks and even though the cuts were nice, they were completely over cooked. Not a fan!
