Through the years I've attended weddings, professional conferences and special events at The Olmsted. The main buildings sit back from the road but their entrance and signage are fairly easy to spot on Frankfort Ave. I also appreciate the ample parking near the main building. Several steps lead to the front door so check with the Olmstead's team if you need a ramp. If needed, a coat check is in the lobby. The main foyer sits in the middle of two ballrooms. For conferences and weddings they can utilize both sides - i.e. one side for speakers / ceremony and another for lunches / reception. A stage is available and at one wedding the ceiling was beautifully decorated. Food is fairly basic but I've always enjoyed it. Servers came around regularly to clear plates and restock drinks. Bathrooms are located off the foyer and have a few stalls to manage a crowd. Outside the main building offers outside seating and lots of greenery. No issue with sound, whether it's speakers hooked up to wireless mics or DJs and classical ensembles. The screen projection for conferences is very clear too.My only issue is seating when attending a conference. The chairs are metal and not comfortable during a full-day session.

Came here for an event for a local organization I'm a part of and absolutely loved it! I only saw one room-- it was a large venue room-- but it was incredible. The location is great, seemed to be plenty of parking. The venue was gorgeous-- huge space, very open, beautiful decoration and set up. My assumption is that this place is used largely for weddings and large events and I can absolutely see why! As a DJ myself, I could see this been a lovely venue for any large event or wedding!

The Olmsted is a great event venue! I have attended and worked at several events here and they've been awesome!I worked the Derby Poker Celebrity Bourbon Bash here two years in a row and had a wonderful time. The drinks were good, the food was great, and the surroundings were beautiful. I love the architecture of the historic building, which was constructed between 1925 and 1927. If you're looking for a large event venue for a wedding, a gala or fundraiser, or any other kind of private event, I think The Olmsted is perfect!

The Olmstead makes for a very nice venue! I had my senior prom here, and also attended a wedding reception at this space. It's very nice, the venue is pretty big and the staff here are very welcoming and friendly. I really like how they separate the rooms; one for a dance floor and the other for dining. A lot of reception areas I've been to typically feel cramped, but I can say that I never felt that way here. One thing I'm not a fan of is their food. They served a stir-fry style dinner which I found odd/unique for a wedding, and they had a bunch of random things laid out that you could choose from. A few of the cooks did not speak very good English, so it was difficult to tell them what I wanted in mine. I had a great time here for both events, and I'd recommend this place if you're looking for an event space in St. Matthews.

I love this venue! It's beautiful. I have been to a few weddings but was here for the BBB Torch Awards luncheon today. The staff were all so friendly and attentive during lunch. Plus, the lunch was pretty good! There is a lot of construction and the roads were in rough shape. There were a lot of signs posted to help with getting to the right spot. I think this was a great thing to do.

I had the opportunity to visit this spot for a Today's Woman awards reception. It was for their Most Admired Woman awards. Such a nice event, in a classy space! I have never been here before but always heard great things about it. The campus is beautiful and the inside of the building has lots of natural lighting as well. I can see why lots of locals decide to use this space for their events. The parking lot was close to the building as well, which I know is a plus for a great deal of people. I hope to enjoy another event at this gorgeous spot again soon.

I was recently here for a charity event and the venue itself was beautiful and spacious. The space worked well for the large event with one room set ups with tables and chairs and the other set up for sampling items, mingling and looking at a silent auction. There is a lot of construction on the property and parking, (even when construction finishes) is not the greatest, but still a great venue.
