The Farmstand Market And Cafe

Farmstand café is always a favorite for me! Whether it's dinner with friends, or family, lunch with the girls, or just stopping by myself on the way home from running errands, I always enjoy this restaurant... It feels like home!I keep going back to their French dip sandwich with a side of their delicious pasta salad. But there are always other great options on the menu and specials as well. My dining partners have told me the hamburgers are excellent, and their fancy deviled eggs - sold for $1.50 each - are a wonderful way to start a meal.It's a small restaurant, but there are plenty of tables in the dining room, as well as a few seats at the bar. I usually try to call ahead to make a reservation for dinner, especially if there's more than two of us.There's also a small market on the backside of the bar which has some local and regional food items for sale... Cute and home-like outside and inside, this restaurant has charm. We had the spinach salad a veggie wrap for lunch. They were both very good. The real showstopper was the creamy berry-lemon cake we split for dessert. A touch of lemon in a white cake and loaded with yummy berries, served with a side of whipped cream. It was delicious!

Super nice staff and great meal options. We had a great drink selection, too. The interior is pretty homey and I'm excited to return.

The food choices were limited. There were maybe 3 servers working, and our server was just condescending. There are no fryers at this place, so no fries or anything, which I was with but just want you to be aware. The ambiance was very small, hometown feel with plastic over the tables. Drinks were served in mason jars, which is definitely my vibe. The food was average. It wasn't bad, but it is nothing I would go back for. I'm not saying it was horrible, but the wait was really long for 2 sandwiches, the food didn't impress, and the server could learn to be nicer.

What a cute local restaurant on a country road in Union!Parking was easy to find right next to the restaurant, when I stopped in just after they opened on a weekday to order some lunch to-go. I was expecting a grab-and-go counter cafe situation - so I was pleasantly surprised to see a full bar and restaurant, that was already filling up! I placed my order at the bar - and only had to wait about 10 minutes for my food to be ready. The woman who took my order was friendly - and the man sitting a bit further down at the bar said they serve the "best burger in Northern Kentucky!" Unfortunately - I didn't order the burger this time around - but I'll definitely come back to see if his claims are correct!I ended up getting a "farm-wich" and a Southwest flank steak salad. The sandwich was delicious ... piled high with turkey and other toppings, with a perfect toast on the bread. It came with my choice of homemade side ... so I went with their potato salad, which was creamy and flavorful. The salad was great as well - lots of fresh veggies and a dressing I will definitely try to replicate on my own at home. My only problem with the salad was that when I ordered, the woman at the bar asked how I wanted my steak cooked. I said, "medium," and the steak that ended up on my salad was much closer to well done. Flank steak obviously isn't the best cut of meat either ... and I ended up avoiding the tough pieces of steak and just eating the other bits of the salad. Next time - I might just request that salad without steak, since the toppings and dressing were so tasty on their own.I'll definitely be back soon to dine in and try some of their dinner options ... I love that this restaurant supports local organic farmers and highlights those vendors on the front of their menu!

We went on a hot summer night when they were featuring cool dishes. We both had lobster roll. It was very good--loaded with chunks of lobster. Was it as good as a lobster shack in Maine? No. But it was definitely good for Northern Kentucky and we would get them again. Our side salads and cole slaw were excellent. Very fresh and the bleu cheese salad dressing was fantastic. Our server, Gina, was attentive and friendly. Suggestion: keep those lobster rolls on the summer menu, but offer the choice of the salad as you made it OR plain with drizzled butter and a lemon wedge. Also, look into lobster rolls (similar to hot dog rolls). The hoagies are too much bread and overpowered the lobster. We pretty much picked the lobster salad out with our forks. Sorry we forgot to take a photo.

Great farm to table place to eat! The staff was friendly and recommended the specials. Food was fantastic. I recommend this to everyone who comes out this way!

Tried to go sit at the bar to order two of their grilled cheese sandwiches for takeout at 5:25 on a Saturday and was told the only thing that they would do takeout Is there special prime rib dinner. So I left and headed to a different restaurant. There's been a reason we haven't been there for several years.

Fantastic meal at The Farmstand Market & Cafe.Homemade prime rib beef stroganoff. Very nice sauce, tender meat. Prime Rib Philly Cheesesteak. The steak was so tender and it was so big I could barely take a bite.Not pictured was homemade clam chowder. Also, not pictured selection of deviled eggs. We were starving lol forgot to get pics first. Some of the best homemade blue cheese dressing too! All of it was so delicious! Such an amazing scratch kitchen. A great place to eat. The Lemon Berry Mascarpone Cake is wonderful. Meatloaf and burgers and Rueben are some great meals along with the other choices.Our waitress's Laura and Maggie are the best. Great service.
