As one sometimes is, this story begins with a van full of 7 hungry ladies driving through Lawrenceburg, KY. We began googling places to eat and happened upon a listing for The Colombian Corner. "Colombian food? In Lawrenceburg?," we asked ourselves. "Why sure," we answered. This ended up being quite possibly the best decision we've made in a very, very long time. The Colombian Corner is a family-owned Colombian restaurant (mom, dad, 3 brothers) located in a regular-appearing strip mall. It, however is NOT regular. It is unique, local, delicious, and truly a treasure. We were greeted warmly, supplied with complimentary plantain chips and creole sauce, and given a rundown of both the specials and any regular menu items about which we had questions. They also made sure to explain which items could be altered and adjusted to fit any dietary preferences and allergy needs. Juices and sauces are made in house; there are at least 7 salsa/sauces - my favorites were the spicy green salsa and the creole sauce (SO much delicious garlic). I ordered the vegan platter: sauteed mushrooms, corn, white rice, pinto beans, yuca fries, and plantains. SO good, SO fresh, and enough to take some home for lunch the next day. Although The Colombian Corner is about 1 hour away from home, I am absolutely upon and willing to make the trip to Lawrenceburg just to eat here again.

This restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't let that fool you! We were greeted so warmly as soon as we walked in. The gentleman taking our order was helpful explaining their menu offerings. We started with the mango juice. It seems like they have different juices each day and they were out of one. It was delicious! For our meals we ordered the Bandeja Paisa and this chicken and cheese dish (I forget the name). Both dishes felt prepared-to-order, fresh, and homemade. Hot, great flavors, and presented really nicely. Our waiter recommended the dessert special of the day. He said it was a family recipe. I don't know what they were called but I can still taste them now - guava-filled dough with a creamy sweet dipping sauce. Melt in your mouth!!

My wife and I tried The Colombian Corner tonight at Eagle Lake in Lawrenceburg. They're fairly new. According to the owner, they are the only authentic Colombian restaurant in Kentucky. It was fantastic! My wife had chicken arepitas--a spiced corn meal cake--and I had bandeja paisa (pictured)--sort of a sampler platter with beans, rice, chorizo, pork belly, pork and egg. They give you an assortment of sauces so you can experiment. Great food, people, portions and prices! We'll be back. 5/5

Relieved a warm welcome in the door and the food was fantastic. They start out with a complimentary plantain chip and salsa dip. I'm normally not a dog fan of plantain chips, but the salsa was unique and incredibly good. With my salad they brought out multiple salad dressings - all uniquely Columbian - and explained each one. I selected their 3 meat special.and it was some of the best marinated/seasoned meat I've ever had. Absolutely delicious. I wish I lived closer. This would be a regular destination. Highly recommend. A friendly and delicious experience.

This is one of our favorite places in Lawrenceburg. And I think it might have become my wife's favorite place. The food is awesome, the portions are huge. The service is excellent. I am a bit more adventurous than my wife and I have tried several menu items and I have been impressed with all of them.Make sure you ask the waiter for the daily flavors of home made drinks. They are made fresh and are extremely good.I can honestly recommend this restaurant to anybody!
