We stayed in the upstairs apartment in the cottage behind the house. It was perfect for my two sisters and myself. There is a small kitchen, a big bathroom, two nice beds, and a nice separate living room. So much more room than local hotels! We will be back!

My mother and I decided to take a long weekend over the holiday and stay at the Bennett House. We stayed in the cottage behind the main house because my mom wanted to bring her little dog...oh my gosh..it was just absolutely the most comfortable stay! So clean, organized and just adorable. We had a large bathroom, bedroom and living room. We ate breakfast at the main house and it was delicious and beautifully prepared! The owners are just the best! The house is beautiful and you are in walking distance of restaurants and little boutique stores. Very reasonable and definitely the best place to stay!

This is a super B&B--a well-preserved, beautifully-appointed house built ca. 1890. The owners are gracious and helpful. The breakfast is tasty. If you have reason to stay in Richmond, this is clearly a much, much better value than any of the modern alternatives on the outskirts of town. The rooms have 10'+ ceilings, large bathrooms, a sitting area: luxury at a reasonable price. The location is a mixed blessing. While you can walk to everything that's downtown (e.g., government offices, restaurants, USPS, a comfortable library), the place is, therefore, downtown as well--not bucolic.
