The arboretum is free of charge if you're not seeing the children's garden, which seemed very popular when we were there. There's lots of shady areas to get out of the sun.We walked through the Home Demonstration Gardens, which were very nicely laid out with lots of variety and blooms. Plenty of bees and other insects and critters enjoying the gardens, as well.I wish I lived closer so I could visit throughout the year.Although free, donations are very appreciated.

Nice walking paths, they are dog friendly. It looked like they had interesting exhibits.

Such a wonderful Arboretum. Tons of pathways to walk around on, majority are stroller friendly. Lots of plants to see, all of them labeled if you are curious on what they are. Wild mushrooms, fun bridges, nice sculptures! If you are into Pokemon Go, there are plenty of Poke stops and Gyms as well! The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. There is plenty of parking. Lots of nice spots for photos, though you need a permit for anything professional. Because of the layout, its easy to walk for a long time, but still be very close to the welcome center or the parking lot due to the walkways basically being giant circles. This was very nice!

What an absolutely gorgeous space The weather helps, of course, but there's lawns to lay on and benches to sit on and running paths... just so nice.

Enjoyed a nice 2-mile walk and the great variety of trees. I appreciated the detailed signs at the start of each "region" explaining the geological history of the region and how that impacts what grows there today. But I wished often for better signage where there were forks in the trail, showing which way to stay on the main trail vs spurs that led out of the park. It would be great if each of those regional signs also featured a map with "you are here" marked so that I could see where I was within the park. Also wish that the map included the non-paved (mulch or dirt) trails. Overall, I would appreciate this park a lot more with better maps or if I were local and could go often to explore and learn my way around. It's new, and the sign at the parking lot mentioned that they would be adding trees each year... hopefully they will also add/update the signage too.

We noticed that last time we walked the arboretum, many trees and other plants had signs with labels and descriptions next to each. We did miss reading those, this time around. Perhaps they're just temporarily removed, as part of the renovation? But ..stunning and beautiful walk, as always!

This place is amazing, so beautiful, and I can't believe it's free! We haven't even explored all of the grounds yet, but the fraction we have walked is so beautiful. The children's garden costs $4/person and is totally worth it. We spent hours here and will be returning often.

Been stuck at home and wanted a fun day out. I chose day trip to Lexington with arboretum being a must. Love walking around and love flowers. This is ideal place to play with my camera. 2 weeks after shoulder surgery and arm in torture emobilzer ..found couldnt use camera or even phone camera. Very frustrating. So hubby used my camera and I tried not to be back seat photographer. I tried to be thankful for his help and not focus on what shots werent what I would have wanted. He asked how I will feel if I get more likes and comments on the pics he did. Uhhh yeah that would sting. I took a couple with my phone even though it required doing things with injured arm...and it hurt. It was a hot humid Sunday... he was over it long before I. But i tried to hurry and not torture him too much.

The Arboretum is such a serene and beautiful place to have a stroll, run or picnic. Conveniently located on U.K. campus, the Arboretum is easy to get to and has plenty of parking for visitors. I love that the Arboretum includes signs for the variety of plants. It makes a trip here educational for those with kids or if you just want to learn about plants. There's also a children's play area! Not only good for exercise, the Arboretum is also a great place for some photo shoots.
