So good! This is such a great little gem in Elizabethtown. Very inventive menu, lots of really delicious options. Prices are very reasonable and the staff are interested in making sure customers have a good dining experience. More of a tropical South American /mexican menu. Lots of refreshing items. Pineapple salsa is great. Really enjoy this place and will be back.

I came in from a long drive while shopping for Christmas. Decided to try the Tomahawk steak with plantains and rice. Needless to say I was disappointed. The plantains were over cooked the steak was undercooked and hardly seasoned I asked for medium I got rare to medium rare. The steak did not have a good crust and the fat cap was not even seared.

As Etown is growing, so is our local food scene. I love supporting local, and I'm grateful to those who take on the challenge of operating a local restaurant. Tequila House unfortunately for me didn't really hit the mark, but definitely has some redeeming qualities. We came here with my husband's family, so we were a rather large group. The table we were sat at was a little tight, but that wasn't a problem, we were happy to be seated together. We started with the choriqueso dip. This was probably the highlight of the meal, but the portion was so small, there were some people at the table that didn't even get to try it. We all got assorted entrees and none of them were anything to write home about. The atmosphere here is was really sets it apart from other places in Etown. It's very in-your-face stroby, loud, and heavily-decorated. To me, it feels a bit contrived, but it definitely is different from other places in town, and could make for a fun night out for those looking for that. There was live music too, which was really loud, but again if that's what you're looking for then this is the place. Overall, this was not my favorite, but I'd be willing to come back if I'm craving a sort of night out.

We ate there on a quiet Sunday evening and I'll start from the beginning here. The chips and salsa are superior. We lived in San Antonio for over a decade. And their chips and salsa are perfect. My husband got the chicken chimichanga, and I got the enchilada trio, both were extremely good. Their shredded chicken is particularly good and flavorful all on its own. My husband got the rumchata, and I got the mango tango. Both very tasty. The mango tango has a whole dreamcicle in there which I didn't mind at all. Our waiter was attentive as well. I highly recommend this place to eat, even if it's just for drinks and chips and salsa!

I'm very torn on my opinion about Tequila House. I WANT to like it but something just doesn't connect for me. I've been twice, for lunch and for dinner, and each time it's been kind of... eh? The interior decor is trying to be fun and punchy, but comes off as a kitschy and less-polished version of Guacamole in Louisville. The music was a little too loud for conversation, and the nonstop flashing strobe lights (even at lunch time) are very distracting - if you are prone to headaches/migraines or epilepsy, this place is not for you. The service was also inattentive and lacking both times I went, which is a shame. On my first visit, I ordered the Baja fish tacos and was pretty disappointed. They're pretty bland, and I'd recommend that the chef pay a visit to Taco Luchador to get a feel for how the flavors should actually come together. On my next visit, I got their signature burrito with steak, and while that was delicious, they forgot to bring us our appetizer. Instead of just removing it from the bill, they rushed it out after we'd finished our entrees, so we ended up paying for something we didn't even eat.The cocktails are the obvious draw to this place, but they prioritize flashiness over quality. The presentation is over-the-top and a ton of fun on all of their signatures, but the drinks themselves are imbalanced sugar bombs. The price isn't on the menu, but they trend around $12 each. For being a tequila house, there was a surprisingly small tequila list and not many drinks that featured it in a unique way. If you're looking for a great cocktail in E'town, I'd recommend the Cavern Club instead. My hopes may have been too high going in here; for me this is a no.

Food wasn't bad, chips were okay but had to pay for them so probably won't get them again. The tacos were delicious though. I had the Baja fish tacos and they were perfect. The seating was a little strange. I sat in the booth part and was a little too high for the table so I was just kinda hunched over the entire time. My husband sat in one of the lawn style ones and was way too low. I felt like I was looking down at him the entire time. The wait staff was alright. Most of the time they were all on their phones and they weren't very attentive. We did go while it was a bit dead so it may be a completely different vibe later at night. Would go back to give it another try though.

A friend & I wanted ladies night out last min and I recommended the Tequila House based off what I saw other people post on social media. It wasn't that busy when we arrived. We were seated to the nearest both as soon as we walked past the entrance. They have a small foyer that is decorated with greens and neon lights for social media posts and picture taking. There was music playing when we walked in, it was a bit loud. We had a hard time hearing our server and each other most of our evening. Once seated, menus were provided and introduced to our server Jaelon. We wanted drink and peaked at the drink menu, they ran out of ingredients for some drinks, so we had to ask what drinks were available and he had to go ask. When he came back, we ordered what was available. I got the Mango Tango and my friend ordered the Jamaica Sunset. While waiting on our drinks, we decided to order. We started with a trio of dips appetizers (guacamole, mango pico de gallo & spinach queso) with chips. I wasn't super hungry so I got the steak tacos & my friend ordered the burrito bravo with steak. After we ordered, our server brought out my friend's drink, which was spilled little on the floor next to me and on our table. We had no extra napkins & our server didn't come back to clean it up, just came back to drop off my drink. When someone else brought out our appetizer, we asked them to clean it up. Which she did come back with a towel to wipe it up. I'm not a huge fan of frozen drinks but this wasn't bad at all. Definitely taste the mango & tajin. My friend's drink wasn't bad either loved the flavor of the hibiscus flower. The appetizer... I noticed right away it wasn't correct, we had 2 queso & once I said something to the server who brought it out, our server came back to check and had to look at what we order on his pad. When I repeated told him, it's not right we order the mango pico and not plain queso. Shortly after he checked he went to the kitchen to get us the pico but let us keep the extra queso. Now the queso dips we good and the mango pico de gallo was good but the guacamole..... man it was disappointing.. must have been made earlier on because it looked dark ( it was a bit hard to tell due to lighting) but it tasted like a old avocado. While all this is happening, there a gentleman playing music, dancing, singing & playing the trumpet to the restaurant. Getting the crowd involved. Kinda was fun but it also turned the music up to 11 and me & my friend literally had to yell in each other ears to have a conversation. After about 10ish or more/less minutes, our food came out.. the smelled good. My steak was season and had some flavor BUT one layer of the tortillas wasn't heated up all the way and it a taste and texture since it wasn't soft & tasted like they just took the tortillas out of the bag. My friend liked her burrito. We ordered another round of drinks, my friend got the mango tango & I wanted the margarita flights on the rocks. When the drinks came.. the server immediately knew they messed up on the flight & made them frozen but told us they were on the house and went back to get the flights on the rocks. Which was nice. The margarita were as expected flavor and consistency. Cute little touch with the tray and the mini jars & straws. Overall they have some things that needs improvement for open this month. It's wasn't awful but it wasn't as expected or seen on social media. They service was decent, staff seemed to be helpful when needed and turn around time for food was good. Drinks don't look exactly like what's on the menu, no prices for specialty cocktails either. The decor and ambiance is neat and beautiful, but I would also like to hear my friend and my server without yelling.

I have mixed opinions for this place, it's a nice place, very loud, chairs sets really low, if your a tall person it's hard to set in them, the food, not great, mostly because of seasoning, I had the beef chimichanga, I think what they filled it with was a roast that was shredded, no peppers or other fillings, just thick meat, bland and I don't know what the sauce was that they put over it, wasn't good. My wife had the burrito with Al paster pork, she said it was good, we both agree'd that we will try it again, but hope they read these comments and do some changing, my daughter and her husband, she had the steak tacos, said it was good, he had the beef chimichanga as I did, the rice was just so so, fresh cilantro all over it, made it worse then what it was. Rice had no flavor. It looked better then it tasted.

The interior was nice, made us feel like we were back at a place in LA. I saw alot of comments about the strobes and what not, while those were going it wasn't a distraction, nor was music too loud. We did go for lunch. The food was good, nice presentation. It seemed to be bland though, rarely anything has a hint of seasoning. This could be done for a few reasons but at least use salt and pepper. Our waiter was kind and attentive. We will be back to try some of the good looking drink options and tequila tastings.

Remarkable upscale Mexican restaurant convenient to shopping. This was a 180 from the typical Mexican restaurant that has hundreds of items in the menu, greasy food, premixed margaritas and rice and beans served with everything. The food here was fresh and flavor filled. It was presented like a 4 star restaurant. The craft cocktails are delicious and such a nice break from other Mexican restaurants. The atmosphere is fun and a great place to go for a special night out. The service was friendly and quick. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because I felt the drink prices were a little pricey. $3.25 for soda and tea is a bit much and felt the cocktails could have been priced slightly lower.
