In the Philippines we say masarap (mah-sah-rahp). If Taglish becomes as successful as the quality in presentation and flavor, it's in hopes their location at Soc. ial on Main in Elizabethtown will require them to expand to a larger location. There was a debate on whether my first try would be a standard, well-known dish or go for broke and get the delicacy. The choice...go for broke.I went for the delicacy known as Kare-Kare (see pronunciation and description on photo). Let's just say, I practically licked the bowl clean! The hardest thing to bite is price. Is it worth the price? If you want a unique dish, filling and on point for someone who craves this dish, then yes. Given that my household is not used to the dish, I'm the only one who'll eat it when it's made. Needless to say, I know where I'll be adding frequent buyer points (when they start offering it- wink wink). It would have added value to my meal if it came with a small beverage and at least 2 small pieces of lumpia. You'll notice on the side of my dish is a tiny container (bagoong-pronounced:bah-go-oohng). Filipinos know this is the only and best way to eat Kare-Kare. If you've never had it before you may want to request for a quarter teaspoon sample of it.This IS the closest I'm gonna get to Mom's cooking, other than my own.I'm no professional, but those who follow my reviews know, I'm critical yet fair.Looking forward to coming back again with an updated review, more pics and to bring hubby next time around.Salamat po (sah-lah-maht poh): Thank you

Craving something yummy different? Have you been meaning to try Filipino cuisine? Then stop by! This is a great place to start and once your taste buds try it, you will be back for more! Friendliest chef ever, Chef Cecille has created a scrumptious menu and mentioned adding to it soon! Loved the fried pork belly, aka lechon kawali dipped in the chili infused vinegar accompanied with garlic fried rice and attchara pickled vegetables, similar but different to Thai papaya salad. The chicken inasal was marinated to perfection, still moist and packed with BBQ'd citrus soy flavors!

The Social on Main is such a cool food court style hangout. The owners went to extreme lengths for this to feel fresh, comfortable and inviting. The styled it with hip furniture that coordinated with a wild and funky wallpaper. There are ample food choices, modern text alerts for when your order is completed and drinks on tap for self serve. The Bahn mi and Taglish was delicious and so was the Ube cheesecake from Taglish. I tried a few ciders and wines from the self serve tap area and spent hours in the large seating area seated in the cutest and very comfortable yellow padded chairs. This place is what every town needs and Elizabethtown is lucky to have this modern concept eatery and hangout place.

As a geographically challenged gal from the Bay Area, finding Filipino food - and GOOD Filipino food - has been THE challenge. Taglish at Social on Main was a Godsend! Lumpia is fantastic! I am so looking forward to Pancit and Biko! A little bit of DC and SF right here in town!
