Tacos El Potro

The carne asada tacos here are absolutely AMAZING. Feels like Los Angeles to get tacos this good in the South. Super nice people and very clean interior. Highly recommend.

I think they were better when they were just a food truck at the Mattress Firm parking lot. Now that they're an actual restaurant, their prices have gone up and their food has gotten worse. One of the best burritos I've ever had came from their old food truck -- it was simple, greasy, and flavorful. I had one from the restaurant yesterday and it was mediocre -- dry, bland, and trying way too hard to be fancy (there was Parmesan cheese sprinkled on the side, which fell off as soon as I picked it up). I don't think they're worth the price now. Between my burrito, my wife's nachos, and two drinks, it was $29.51. You can literally go to a sit-down restaurant for that price these days. (You order at the counter here and throw away your own trash.)

Finally tried this awesome food truck on Nicholasville Rd, I will definitely be back!! Got the torta with pastor, it was amazing. Their salsas are very tasty and hot. Glad to have more Mexican street food options in the area. Definitely check this one out!

Hello delicious food truck!!! I stopped by for the first time for some late night food on a Friday evening and shamelessly returned the following Saturday and Sunday nights. I can vouch for the steak burrito, quesadilla, and tacos...I ordered all with steak and can say that all were delicious!Additionally, I noticed that there seemed to be a pretty regular flow of DoorDash orders streaming from the truck and a strong Latino customer base, which is a good sign of legitimate Mexican food.

I had an experience with this taco truck and everything tasted very authentic. I have had these same items from other food trucks, so I cannot give it a 5 star. I need something different, I need a different entree that I have not had before. Also, did anyone notice that the name is Tacos El Potro? It translates to Horse (more specifically, Colt) Tacos. I assume that they do not serve horse meat in any of their tacos, but I found it pretty funny. Or maybe I am thinking of Taco Del Porto? Tacos from horses. Idk.

I have to pick up an order for delivery from here. I was told it would be ready in 5 minutes. Then they came back and said it would be even more time. It's have multiple deliveries and it's affecting those times. I won't pick up another order from here again.

Best authentic tacos on this side of Lex. So good I forgot to take a picture!! They also have some pretty delicious looking postres (helado), so I will be back to try those as well!

These are the best tacos in Lexington! If you haven't tried them yet, give El Potro a chance!

Best taco truck in lex, and I love that they're one of the only places open when I get off work at midnight. I have even doordashed my order before and everything came out right. The torta is the best I've ever had, and the bread they use tastes homemade (I don't know if it is, but it's delicious). I don't know what they do to their chicken, but it's so flavorful and delicious. Definitely stop in that mattress store parking lot and get you the best tortas and tacos in town!!!!
