I was in town for a weekend of tasting bourbon with friends and Swizzle was a great way to end the trip! We looked up reviews prior to making reservations and found it to be a solid suggestion. We arrived at 8:00pm and chose to valet the car. It was $10 and that was reasonable compared to places we typically visit. Upon getting off the elevator, we were greeted by as friendly face and taken to our table. The view from the rotating dining room overlooked the river. It was fairly dark outside but still a nice view. Our server offered up some of her favorites as suggestions. We opted for the king Ora salmon and the filet. She recommended the BLT salad so we both chose that as a starter. While we waited on our dishes, we both chose a flight of bourbon to sample. I chose Blantons, E H Taylor and Buffalo Trace. For $28 they were pretty good sized pours. I've absolutely paid $20 for one pour of Blantons before so I was pleased with the price. The food was a solid 7/10. Not overly spectacular, but it had good flavor and was cooked the way we requested. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

A fantastic restaurant by all measures. Excellent location on the 25th floor of the Galt House's west tower with panoramic views of the city and the Ohio River. The rotating dinner floor that allows you to gradually make your way around the turntable at least twice over the course of a good meal is a great experience particularly at sunset. Our server was wonderful, engaging and helpful with great suggestions but never obtrusive. The drinks are good-- while a bit of a showpiece upgrade spectacle, the smoke-house old fashioned (with your choice of 3 bourbons depending on your tier/taste preference, I went with Four Roses) is well worth trying as it's fun to receive and better to drink! It's a strong old-fashioned with great taste and the smoke actually infuses the drink in a great way. Good selection of affordable beers, great wine list, and a TON of bourbon + other whiskey options this being Louisville. Most importantly, the food! A straightforward menu with top-shelf items. They have obviously fine-crafted that list to have just the things they can do best. I went with the sea bass which was terrific. Cooked and seasoned perfectly, served with sweet potato hash (chorizo, mushrooms and leeks). I also had a side of the Charred Broccolini (w/ tomato aioli) and the baked 3-cheese macaroni (both were terrific). My friends had the filet, duck fat potatoes, and orecchiette pasta. Everything was prepared superbly and there were zero complaints from any of us. It's not a "cheap" place to dine but the ingredients, quality, and service more than justify the price tag. Highly recommended, easily one of the best meals I've had in a long time.

We went for drinks and apps..and the experience. We were seated before our reservation time and decided to sit in the rotating rotunda. The drinks were a little sweet for us, but good. Plenty of apps to choose from. Our waiter was knowledgeable and professional, and great at casual convos. It is a great place to take out of town guests at sunset.

This place has a relatively nice atmosphere and the main dining area rotates for a nice view of the sunset on the river. Our waiter was a bit strange, sometimes asking a question and leaving before we answered. We both got the filet along with truffle fries and spinach. The first few bites were actually quite good but strangely enough, everything became saltier as the meal went on to the point where the last few bites were tough to get through.

LOVE LOVE LOVE SWIZZLE! As soon as you walk in you feel welcome doesn't matter if you're dining or just coming for the amazing happy hour! I highly recommend making a dinner reservation just to enjoy the rotating dining room floor to ceiling glass view. I have been to Swizzle several times and am excited to come back soon to celebrate a friend's 60th birthday! The service both dining in and at the bar are amazing. Drinks are prepared to perfection you won't be disappointed. Appetizers are well portioned and always tasty. The BURGER ahhhh as much as I'm looking forward to dinner that trifecta burger is incredible!!!! I'm actually staying at the hotel so I just might have to sneak over for a burger the day before our dinner party. Scallops were amazing, my friend ordered them twice! I'm wanting to try everything on the menu, next time I'm thinking lobster and the carnivore platter, if anyone wants to share or not haha! Both the mushrooms and green beans are fantastic I'll need to try those duck fat fried potatoes next! Yum! I promise next trip to Louisville I'll take more photos! It's such a beautiful bar and restaurant with the most amazing staff. Thank you!

Four of us went to dinner at Swizzle while visiting Louisville. This restaurant is located on the top floor of the Galt Hotel. I had made reservations weeks before our arrival. Upon checking in, the three hostesses at the desk proceeded to direct us to the first table by the hostess stand in the wide hallway leading to the dining room. It was the worst table at the restaurant. When I expressed that I made reservations weeks in advance, and I didn't want to sit in the hallway, the three young women gave me an attitude. I was about to leave and spend our $$$ elsewhere. My friend, who is a manager at a high-end restaurant in Chicago, sought out the manager and within 15 minutes we were shown to a table within the dining room and a plus, in the rotating section of the restaurant, where you can enjoy the skyline of Louisville rotating 360°. I can't thank you enough Travis for the hospitality and a table within the restaurant. Our server was David, who provided impeccable service. The four of us started out with cocktails. I had the sting like a bee, which was a bourbon cocktail, delicious. We shared two appetizers, the grilled bacon and the meatball skewers. The grilled bacon was insane, a thick sliced piece of bacon served with a refreshing jam and chicharrons. The meatball appetizer had four small meatballs in a tomato sauce with melted mozzarella on top. The meatballs were small, soft and flavorful. My husband and I shared a watermelon salad. It was okay, it could have used more watermelon. Next, we ordered a bottle of wine for the table to share. For dinner, my husband ordered the Chilean seabass, which was perfectly cooked, moist and flaky. My friend and I split two entrées, the prime rib and the scallops. The prime rib was absolutely delicious and cooked to the perfect medium rare. The scallops were delicious, although there were only four on the plate for $58. I thought the price point was high for what was on the plate. The food at Swizzle is delicious, the atmosphere is nice, great cocktails and the service is on point. I will definitely be back again to enjoy a more leisurely dinner. We had to rush dinner because we had reservations at The Bar at Fort Nelson at Michter's. I definitely recommend Swizzle.

Ambiance: 10/10 The rotating floor allowed for a full view of the skyline. It was very romantic. When booking the reservation, be sure to request that area. Appetizers: 8/10 We had calamari and crab cakes. The calamari tasted better than it looked. The crab cakes were decent. Drinks: 10/10. Since I mentioned it was our wedding anniversary when booking, we got complimentary champagne. We were greeted with "Happy Anniversary" by lots of staff. That was special. My husbands drink was on the "experience" list.

So you wanted to have dinner on the 25th floor and rotate while enjoying dinner. Swizzle is the answer! We were lucky enough to get a table on the platform so we got a 360 degree view of Louisville. The bread was so good I forgot to get a picture. At the table we had a wedge salad, calamari, crab cakes, tomahawk chop, Mac and cheese, and potato gnocchi. Our party of three shared it all except the bourbon flight. Reservations are a must, but it is worth the wait. Our wait staff was awesome. And when you can't eat it all you get a recyclable to go bag. Though pricey you have to treat yourself when away from home. It's never about pictures it always about new foods when traveling.

We arrived as a party of four for a later dinner around 8:30. The Service/bar: The service started out rough, and did not get better. We were seated promptly, but then waited around 20 minutes for the server to acknowledge our table. The server told us that noone had told her we were seated, which happens I suppose. We put in drink orders, which took another 25 minutes to arrive at the table (we are now 45 minutes into dinner). The server explained the bartender was overwhelmed at the moment; the restaurant was nearly empty and the bartender did not look very busy. There were small issues with the cocktails. One of our party ordered a martini, "straight up", which arrived with ice chips in the glass. We did not send the drink back, but this is incorrect, and we discussed with the server. Later, when a second martini was ordered the same way, and arrived like the first one, we had questions. The server said the bartender allegedly did not know what "straight up" meant.I am a not a bartender, and I do not drink martinis. But I find this hard to believe. The Food: Overall, the food was fine. Caesar salad, wedge salad, crab cake, meatballs came as expected. The steaks on the carnivore platter were prepared as ordered (medium rare) and seasoned well. The steak was on par with other high end steak houses in the city. Swizzle seems to differentiate itself by offering sauces with their steak, but I don't see the value in spending $65 on a steak to dip it in sauce like a chicken tender. The burger was recommended medium, but I don't like overcooked burgers, so I ordered it medium rare. Of course, it came out nearly well done, charred and lifeless. If crunchy burgers are your thing, I guess I'd recommend.Overall: A frustrating experience at best. High end, steak-focused restaurants are the most crowded market in the city-- that makes it a difficult market with high expectations. They have clearly invested a lot in the space of the restaurant, with its look and rotating rooms, but the service and food missed. For the high end prices they charge, I'd expect far more, and I can get it at its competitors, minus the view.
