First I want to start with how friendly the service was, I hope nothing but the best for this business. But I wish the fish quality was better. I had the scallop and tobiko nigiri; both were not fresh at all. The scallop was dry and a bit tough. The tobiko was slight hard and chewy. Very strange consistency for these two items. Overall, if you want Americanized rolls with poor fish quality or no fish at all, this spot is probably for you. If you're looking for a more authentic, fresh sashimi or nigiri experience, avoid this spot.The dakgaejang was decent.

Swung by here for lunch and had a most excellent meal. I ordered the miso soup, house salad and 007 roll. The salad had a good ginger dressing and the soup was very balanced. The roll was delicious and I'll be back to try more.Service was good and the prices were very reasonable.

If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all. That's my rule. And since I can't follow it this time I'm just going to say very little. And that very little consists mainly of DONT and NO.If you think this is good sushi then I feel very sorry for you and would love to take you to lunch and have you experience what it really is.

Calling it sushi master is the biggest irony I can think of. Someone suggested it as the "most authentic" Japanese in Louisville. If it is, I have zero interest in Louisville sushi. The fish wasn't even remotely fresh, and absolutely nothing about the menu was authentic. Please don't go here thinking this is what real sushi is about...

3.5 stars but will round up because they seem to be a family business with friendly staff. On a recent Friday night, I decided that the kitchen was closed at our house and that sushi sounded tempting. I wanted to try somewhere new and was thrilled to see Sushi Master just down the street from us. We placed our online order and watched eagerly until it was ready for pickup. We tried a few rolls: Norton Roll, Kentucky Roll, and No 1 Roll. They all looked exquisite and fresh as we unboxed them. Across the board, we found the flavor to be underwhelming on all of the rolls. If we ordered again, we would only get the Norton Roll. It was a bit disappointing, but I would give it another try and order some spicier rolls on my own (I was limited this time since I split with my husband, who likes a spicy level negative on anything). All in all, fresh sushi in a convenient location - if a bit bland - and worth another try with some different options.

I think 4 is perfect for this place... it seems to be family owned and the man with glasses who is the waiter was incredibly kind and helpful... it was clean and comfortable. The sushi is good, especially for Louisville... again a solid 4... prices were very reasonable and good sake choices. Seems like most people were getting takeout and eating inside it was easy to get a seat on a Friday night.
