Old school 70s bottles. In Mexico, they still use the recyclable glass bottles. My mawmaw had them all the time in her refrigerator.

I've reviewed before, but please listen closely: this may be the best Mexican food in Lexington. This restaurant is your wild card. It's the place you hide up your sleeve and when all the usual suspects in your crew can't decide where to eat, you wink and say, "I know a place". You hustle over to Southland, walk them in this Mexican grocery store, beeline towards the right, maybe even give homage to Mother Mary in the corner, making the sign of the cross, before you sit down, all the while your friends look at you with new found respect and adulation because you know this hip & cool place & the proper rituals.Thirsty? Have some pineapple Jarrito, or some Coca Cola, or maybe just water. Hungry? I've mentioned before the tacos are delicious. So are the tortas. So are the Enchilada Moles, any of them. This past sunday I ordered the Con Mole and was transported instantly to Oaxaca de Juárez, where deep, complex sauces with tastes of roasted chilis, cocoa, cinnamon are absolutely standard and a window to the days of the Aztecs. Let's face it, every dish here will be amazing. Every dish here will be made with special care by the ladies in the back, so be sure to tip well, and especially walk to the counter and tell those precious ladies how amazing your food was. You will make them happy, they will cook even better food, and the cycle will repeat itself for the next customer. The food here does feel like it has Oaxaca deep in its spirit, and I think you will make all your friends envy you if you eat here. It embodies perfection and the very best of Mexican cuisine. I wish I could eat here every day. I can't, but maybe you can!

Lately, we've been completely burned out on the Taco Bell and Taco Tico brands, especially with both having somewhat odd hours due to the pandemic and hardship of finding employees. So, we have pivoted to a local Mexican grocery store that offers a diner within their establishment. It is located where Feeders Supply was for several years and is next to the Ballroom Dance & Art's Center and a Dollar General store. While the tacos are the stars for us, please do not hesitate to try their burritos, especially a grilled chicken burrito. At that time of this writing, the average taco is $1.99, which is the cost for the steak version. Searingly hot and hardy of flavor, these are the tacos to beat. We've been to this location six or seven times since mid-January, and we've had no issues. They've been running a health dept score of 98-100, which is posted on the right of the entrance. In closing, I will mention a SuperMercado Aguascalientes#2 off of W New Circle Rd in a backlot strip mall. Still, in my opinion, their Southland location is so much easier to reach without dealing with crisscrossing traffic.

Not the biggest Latin market that I've ever been in, but for the size the variety was quite respectable. Their advertising promises fresh fruits and vegetables, and their pepper and cactus selection was as good as one could ask for. They had some fruits I'm not even sure I could pronounce. Their freezer aisle included things like loroco buds and pupusas. I wasn't quite as impressed with the baked goods side of things. They had some brand name tortillas, but I did note that when I went to the register there was a cooler marked as having hot and fresh ones (which was almost out). Their panaderia included a few (albeit delectable-looking) items.Overall, the selection was certainly worth going in for, and I didn't spend a ton at all.

Mexican market on Southland. Took a walk through. Very organized and appeared quite clean. However, I was there for the tacos. The little restaurant sits to the right of the entrance. I ordered my tacos and, minutes after I sat down, I had a basket of tacos and salsa. Salsa was good, but could have been hotter for me. The tacos came in a styrofoam container, eh, but they were delicioso. Asada and al Pastor. A squeeze of lime and a drizzle of the salsa verse. Tacos real and under $4. For both.54

The food was not bad but I've had way better. It was definitely over priced and serving size were small. I got a torta de asada, a burrito de pastor and a coctel de camarones. The torta was okay, my daughter burito didn't even look like pastor and mi coctel was bland. Will definitely no be coming here again.

Great supermarket with lots of options and a really good little fresh produce section. The restaurant inside is absolutely killer!! Literally the best Mexican food in Lexington. The sauces they make to accompany the food need to be bottled!

I enjoy the food. It is a bit on the pricier side but it's not a big store or a chain so I understand the price difference.
