Every February for the past three years, I've driven from Ontario to New Orleans for Mardi Gras season. I always need to stop in Kentucky or Tennessee on the way down and back at the halfway-ish point. I had enough Airmiles to book this hotel both on the drive down and the trip back.I arrived in the early evening both times and was greeted by the same clerk. She was friendly and we even joked around about Mardi Gras when I came back. It was nice she remembered me. Check-in was easy and hassle-free. I've had other hotels double charge me or put a big hold on my card for 'incidentals,' but they didn't do that. They just ran the card in case any charges were incurred, but they never charged anything to it.The first stay, I had a room with two double beds. I booked that way, wasn't paying attention. I prefer a king-sized bed. That was what I had on the way back and, although the double bed wasn't super uncomfortable, the king bed offered a far better sleep. It was VERY comfortable. But I had a great sleep both nights. The entire hotel is one floor, so no stairs to mess with. I was in a room at the back the first stay, but it was still a very short walk from the car: easy in/easy out. Even better the second stay. I was in room 102 and got to park right in front of my room door. The fast unload and load up the next morning was greatly appreciated. The area was well-lit and felt very safe with other businesses close by. I travel alone most times, so that is important. The rooms were very clean and provided anything you might need. There was only one little spot where it looked like some lotion was mashed into the carpet by the bathroom door, but that would be very difficult to get out with a routine cleaning. Everything else was very clean. Each room was large and had my three must-haves when travelling: in-room coffee maker, fridge for cream when on the go and a luggage rack for my huge suitcase so I don't have to bend over to root through it. This hotel also did something I haven't seen at other places that made me very happy: the in-room coffee packs. I like a LOT of coffee in the morning and they provided six packs of regular (there was decaf too, but I see zero point in that lol). Most places only give you two. I had early mornings to start a long drive and really appreciated that extra coffee. The morning clerk was also super friendly at checkout and wished me a safe drive. There are also many gas stations around and places to eat as well. If you make the very well worth it drive to Turtlelinis for pizza, there is a convenience store around the corner that is stocked as well as a small grocery store. So, if you want a clean comfortable place to stay that provides extra amenities like the fridge and microwave and lots of coffee, I definitely recommend the Super 8 Wyndham Cave City! Will return for my Mardi Gras trip in 2021.

This Super 8 is a great deal, so convenient too. It's not too far away from Mammoth Cave National Park, so it makes for a nice home-base as you are visiting the Park. Really had I known, I would have planned to stay at least a couple of nights total to explore more of Mammoth Caves. The price is a great value, with a free breakfast it's a lot of bang for very little buck. There is a pool and jacuzzi, they looked quite inviting. We did not take advantage of these options only because we were a little beat coming back from our Cave tour early in the day. Checking in was a breeze, the clerk was very friendly, got to love this area of the country, we find friendly folks are plentiful. Breakfast was good, eggs, sausage, bread items, oj and more. We fueled up ;) on the eats for the next part of our journey. There is a cute gazebo area out the backdoor to sit at while enjoying your meal, how special is that. Remember this is a Super 8, so realize it's not going to be fancified, but it is definitely good enough. The room was quite clean too!Yes I'd stay here again.

On a vacation with nine other family members so we needed a place with three rooms. Every one of the staff here was super friendly, even the gentleman at our 5am check in. They put us in 3 rooms in a row with two connected like we requested. The grounds here are well maintained, no spiderweb on the overhangs outside the rooms. There is no serve yourself breakfast at this time due to COVID-19, but they are offering a bagged breakfast to go. The rooms are pretty clean, haven't heard a complaint out of any family member. The pillows suck but they will do for a few nights. Great water pressure for your shower and hot water right away. It's nice and quiet here, we would all stay here again!

I stayed here with two others for two nights and overall the experience was fine. I mean it's a super 8 what do you really expect from it? We're only allowed to have four towels in the room at a time, the bathroom door didn't shut, and the front door needed body slammed to open. The place is right in the middle of town so it's the perfect distance to get to every thing. The breakfast is pretty good (sausage, eggs, biscuits, waffles, muffins, cereal, and yogurt). The staff is super sweet and helpful, they're great ladies. The beds are full sized not queen so that was a little rough for three grown adults.

For this being rated a 2 star hotel I have to say it's much better than expected! The whole property has been renovated. New beds, bedding, furniture, bathrooms, etc. It's very nice and clean. We ended up staying a second night. Housekeeping was very thorough in cleaning, front desk was always polite and helpful and the continental breakfast was more than expected too. It had hot breakfast items such as egg patties, sausage, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, jucie, etc. Would stay here again if we are in the area again.

Pretty decent place to stay in the Mammoth Cave area. We planned to camp, but changed our plans after thunderstorms were in the forecast. Customer service was great, rooms were clean, and the beds were comfy. This place looks as if it's been recently renovated. Breakfast was typical of free motel breakfasts, but the breakfast area is sparkling, there was a good selection, and everything was delicious. Why 4 stars? I heard mice rooting around in the wall at night (none seen in the rooms, though) and the walls are kinda thin (heard someone sneeze at night next door).I'd definitely stay here again, but you guys gotta take care of that mouse problem before I do!

I'm here to be a good friend and tell you, this hotel in the area is the best you'll get at this price point. It's a nice hotel and you notice the updates done on the property. Nothing shady happened to our car, fresh breakfast in the morning and it does have a outdoor pool, so I recommend.

When I think of my memorable trip to the Mammoth Cave National Park in June of 2017, one of the first things that comes to mind is this awesome, clean motel that is so close and convenient to the park. If you are taking a trip to the park and do not want to camp, this motel is only 7 miles from the park border and the drive to the park is so easy. My husband and I tackled a 4 hour cave tour and dozens of hikes in our 3 days in the area. Thanks to this Super 8 we were able to return to our room throughout the day for whatever reason and go back into the park with ease. The pool was nice although the hot tub was barely hotter than the pool. The breakfast was good but the owner tried to tell me and another woman that we can't take our plate back to our rooms because people waste food. We said "well I plan on eating it all" and he let us take it back "just this once." This concept actually isn't new to me but I thought I would warn future potential guests. The motel is also right across from gas stations, food, and a liquor store. All your needs in this convenient nook off of I-65! Yes I would return to this motel if I am in the area again!

Exactly what you'd expect at a 3 star hotel. The room price was reasonable & had a friendly staff. It is a convenient drive to Mammoth Cave. However, the carpet hadn't been vacuumed and the bathroom floor had some crud on it. There was also dust buildup on the headboard ledge; right where you put the pillows. The staff diligently tried to keep up with the breakfast rush (8AM) to no avail. But, if you have some time, you'll be able to eat the various goodies they have.
