Sumo Sushi All You Can Eat

The food is so good! We didn't order the all you can eat, however the regular menu has generous portions and was more than enough for us. Service was on point and the robot waiter is unique and fun. The decor is pretty as well. This will be a frequent spot for us.

A group of us came here after seeing hype about it on Tiktok. I have not been familiar with any other AYCE sushi places in Louisville so I was super excited to try this one out. It was packed when we came in, which I expect with these types of places. They offered to split up our group in order to be seated faster, which I didn't mind if that meant we didn't have to wait. The way this was set up was a little chaotic. We had a server who took our order, and the point of the AYCE is to order an item or two at a time. We hardly saw him so it made ordering pretty difficult. He also told us the portions were small, and they were in fact not. Just an FYI, you get charged for uneaten food. The food was good, but seems to defeat the purpose of ordering multiple items with such large portions and waiting forever to get it. There is a small dessert buffet bar but it isn't much. We were also ticked off that there was an automatic gratuity charge, but our server didn't bother to tell us that as we were tipping him on our own, unknowingly. Sadly, we weren't too impressed with Sumo Sushi. I'd be willing to try it again one day to see if anything's changed, but I won't be that eager.

I was so excited for an all you can eat sushi place in Louisville but I left disappointed. A group of us went after seeing a video on Tiktok and it seemed like other people saw the video. It was packed. They offered sooner seating if the group split up. It wasn't what we really wanted to do but we were starving at that point so we accepted their offer.The menu has everything you can think of. There were so many items that I wanted to try. The food I did have was good I will admit. When we ordered the AYCE, the waiter said the portions were smaller which I was hoping for so I can try other things. When we got the food they were normal sized. We were full after ordering 2 items. It felt like I did not get my moneys worth for the price.One thing I didn't like was the fact that they didn't tell us that gratuity was already included in the price. We all walked out not realizing we double tipped. I felt it was a sneaky way to get more money. Sumo is not the worst place at all but I will be trying other places before returning

Great value for the food you get. I love the all you can eat here. Service is great and the menu options are plentiful.

We went for dinner and had the AYCE. I was able to make better choices due to all the helpful reviews and didn't waste my time on certain food items. We started off with a few appetizers and were mainly focused on the sashimi and single piece sushis. We were very happy with the entrees. The appetizers were good but could have been made better. For example, the takoyaki balls were undercooked and fillings were mushy, but they tasted really good! Same for the crab rangoons, the filling was very good but they were half filled and poorly fried. The super dragon sushi roll was made well and we ordered many of the sashimis, hand rolls and sushis. They were all delicious and our server was pretty attentive with our orders. The only con with the server was that he didn't refill anyone's drinks, but he made sure to come back several times to place our next set of food orders. We will be sure to remind the next server for drink refills.The dessert bar is pretty basic, could be better. Other than that, we'll be coming back for more visits.

This may sound incredibly silly but I have always wanted to go to a sushi restaurant with a robot server. Not only did "Sumo Sushi" allow me to check this off my bucket list, it was a CAT ROBOT to boot. I was absolutely ecstatic! My friends and I decided to choose the "all you can eat" experience and we had a wonderful time. While we liked some dishes more than others, the majority was scrumptious and the portion sizes very generous! My personal favorites were the pork gyoza, the pork yaki soba (truly scrumptious!!) and the mango roll. We all agreed that we didn't love the consistency of their spicy tuna. Some of the cold sushi rolls were warm The service was attentive and kind and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We had a really fun experience and I will definitely be back in the future!

SO LET ME START OFF THAT THE FOOD IS PHENOMENAL BUT THERE RULES AND SERVICE IS UNACCEPTABLE 1. I dont like how they dictate that if you dont eat all your food you will be charged for each item ALL YOU CAN EAT SHOULD BE JUST THAT2. I COULDNT PARTICIPATE IN THE ALL YOU CAN EAT BECAUSE IM A BARIATRIC PATIENT SO NOT FAIR BECAUSE I MAY NOT EAT ALL MY FOOD!!! I would have loved to experience it. So i got soup and a Roll uggh3. They treat blacks differently Ive sit here and observed how the treatment is different 4. Also i see on there little picture wall no black customers pics at all.. Well we changed that today actually long story how it happened. To sum this up the food is wonderful and i guess thats all tht matters

There is no restaurant I've been more excited to try in the last few months than Sumo!Finally tried it, twice actually, in the last month. I was highly impressed with the quality and service, as well as portion sizes.During our visits my husband and I have tried these appetizers: Crab rangoon, inari, coconut shrimp, fried octopus balls, calamari, and sesame balls. The only one we did not care for was the calamari, which was just ok. Octopus balls are a little over breaded, but good. Main dishes: Plethoras of sushi, ramen, sesame chicken, general Tso's chicken, shrimp lo mein, and white rice. We were thoroughly impressed with each and every main dish and I'd argue that Sumo's sesame chicken blows every other sesame chicken I've had in my life out of the water. Lo mein is also phenomenal.Sushi is above buffet quality, but not quite as high quality as you'd get at Star or DKD. I do enjoy the sushi at Sumo. The desserts are on a traditional Chinese buffet style counter and appear to be Chinese buffet style desserts. They are ok. Boba tea is also very good.Have to give a shoutout to the shrimp dishes at Sumo, all of their shrimp dishes (coconut shrimp, tempura shrimp, shrimp lo mein, etc.) is phenomenal. Portion size is very good, the sushi portions are standard to what you would find in any sushi restaurant and same goes for the main dishes. Appetizers are usually portioned out in 4 pieces and plenty for my husband and I to share.For $28 Sumo is outstanding and I find myself thinking of it fondly and often haha. Definitely pace yourself, because food waste is discouraged here and understandably so. Service is polite and prompt.

Will definitely be back. Fish freshness was just ok, but this is a great AYCE place.Staff are so unbothered at times that it can be comical. When I told my server I was done after one round, his response was "WHAT?!" Ha!I believe dinner is 27$ for AYCE and even sashimi and nigiri is AYCE! A ton of apps, many cooked, fried and raw rolls. The amount of fish is pretty small in the raw rolls, and the sashimi is about half the size of what you would normally get at a full price place. They will let you order as much as you want in one go, just make sure you finish it all!

From start to finish this has been an awesome experience!. Lin was our server and she was very attentive. The food was amazing and then...KitKat the robot came out and sang to me for today is my birthday! Our photos are even on the wall!! Thank you for making my day so special. Can't wait to return! A must do if you haven't been yet.
