Sugar & Spice Donut Shop

Man, I love sugar and spice. My family has been going to the store since I was a kid and is a staple in the neighborhood. Honestly, I don't know how they stay in business with how cheap the prices are. No donut is more than the other everything's at a flat price. You can order ahead now, which is probably the way to go because if you want a specific type of doughnut like a chocolate long Hoehn a maple bar you have to get there pretty early to make sure you get it . I was home for the holidays and could not resist making a quick stop. Pickings were slim but I was still able to get a dozen cinnamon donut holes a dozen chocolate donut, holes, and assorted dozen for 16 bucks. No don't get me wrong. These are not the best donuts in town, but they are darn good and you can get way more for your money.With an unchanged, donut, shop, fuel, sugar, and spice is a must visit. I've never been when there wasn't a solid line.Also, I ran into a chicken outside

Sugar & Spice is kinda a hidden gem. Tucked in the corner of an area on Bardstown Rd is some of the freshest donuts you will have. They have a huge selection and always have a line.Staff is friendly and helpful. I love when I get to wake up to a Sugar & Spice donut.

Sugar and Spice donuts has been around since the 80's and still going strong. Here the donuts go fast so come early.Had a little wait b/c the man in front of us ordered like 3 boxes of goodness. Once It was out turn, we got a dozen of a variety of them and it only cost around $9. They were very soft and put smiles on our faces. They also sale muffins too.The place inside clean and organized. Plenty of parking since this sets in a small shopping center in fern creek.

when i visited my family here before they would go to school when we were younger they would stop by here and get donuts. i went with my mom and sisters to drop them off and we had some donuts and they were yummy. thanks kentucky lol

Sugar & spice is a longtime Louisville and fern creek neighborhood donut shop that has loyal allegiances. Several People swear that this shop located soft Bardstown road it is the best donut shop in the city and will die on that hill. It had been several years since I had been to this shop and it's usually because I do not wake up early enough to get the donuts. They have lines out the door as early as 5am from what I've been told (won't catch me making a 5am donut run). Finally the other day while taking my second oldest daughter out for some daddy daughter time (she always wants to bond over donuts and hot chocolate) I stopped in here around 830ish in the morning hoping they had donuts still. Luckily they had a nice selection still. The decor in here was supper cool and cozy and I liked how they had there donuts labels and on a shelf behind the counter instead of in a glass case. Was unique and different and I actually think I prefer it. Seemed easier to read and make decisions as you can stand in one spot and observe it all. We both got us a hot chocolate and a assortment of a dozen donuts. They let you mix and match whatever donuts they have without a crazy high up charge. Which is nice as the new things is to punish you for doing mix and match. Pricing was good. For the dozen and two hot chocolates it was around $10 (compared to a hot new popular place in old Lousiville I went to today that was around $35 for almost the same exact order). So can't beat that value. Me and my daughter spent our quality time dining inside in the lovely and homey scenery. Then brought the leftovers home to the rest of the family. I will say. I can see why this has a large following. The donuts were very tasty and had great flavor for the dough and the toppings. The hot chocolate was one of the better ones we had. The donuts are a tad bit on the tiny side. But for that taste and value good luck beating this establishment. Something that good you don't quarrel over size too much. We had a very cool and tasty experience here. Now that I know on a weekday that I can get in here on what most people consider early mornings (8ish) and still have great options I'll absolutely come more. I have 4 daughters and a 5th one on the way and as most can tell from my reviews I take the whole crew almost everywhere. But I do love my precious one on one time and I love this little tradition of hot chocolate and donuts with my second oldest. As of right now sugar and spice will be our go to spot going forward for our little trips together.

Donuts are ALWAYS good and the ladies in there are THE BEST!!!!Try the apple fritters! They are a fan favorite at the office

Amazing donuts, friendly ladies and so much variety I couldn't just get 1 dozen. OMG they had old school cakes with chocolate icing and peanuts. Super moist & delish - also grabbed some blueberry cake and apple & cherry fritters. So many varieties of long John's with icings and flavors it was honestly hard to choose. *Side note I was buying breakfast for 5 donut loving adults. So I attempted to grab flavors that would please the crowd - especially since I am the mom. I will be back as a repeat customer. They also carry glazed donuts, donut holes and some great flavors of large muffins.

We as a church buy over 20 boxes of delicious donuts every Sunday. They are always tasty and look as good as they taste. We share them with the 2 police districts near by a ER close and the fire department in the area. The owners and workers are very friendly and always have the order waiting.
