Absolutely loved this store. The staff was great and knowledgeable. The place was well organized and had a lot of fun and quirky things. Heavy on MCM, art, and rugs. Great size - big but not overwhelming. If we lived locally we would be here all the time.

Brand new shop, only open for a couple of weeks! The proprietor is a well known vintage dealer who has booths in several other area shops. This is a huge, quirky space, bright and open. The inventory skews 50s through the 80s with some more recent stuff thrown in. Lots of cool clothing. They have a lot of furniture, art, home goods, and decor. Prices are reasonable. And I follow the proprietor and several of the vendors on Instagram and know they are constantly shopping for new (used?) inventory. There will always be something new!The crew has always been very intentional about setting up displays, so even if you aren't intending to buy something, this place is fun to visit just to take in the creative vignettes they create.Conveniently located and close (within a couple miles) to many other vintage shops, so you could make a day of it.

There are some great vintage shops in Lexington but this one tops my list. All of the booths are well curated so your time won't be wasted. Enjoy!

It is a joy to shop at Subject Matter. The displays are thoughtful, and there is a wide variety of goods at different price points. I've found pottery, small decor items, and a couple of larger pieces of furniture. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They were so helpful in loading furniture into our van. They are worth following on Instagram as they regularly post pics of new items.
